Realization

CH. 06

"Happy birthday to you!"

"Tooooo you!" chorused the twins.

"Happy birthday to you!" sang everyone else. "Happy birthday, dear Harry!"

"Harrrrr-ry!" cried the twins.

"Happy birthday to you!"

"And many moreeee....."

Everyone burst out laughing as Fred and George gave fake bows.

"Gee, my birthday, and you guys are getting the attention," Harry teased. Everyone laughed, knowing how Harry felt about attention. He blew out the candles and everyone cheered.

Charlie and Bill had come out for his birthday. Bill leaned over and whispered to Harry, "George and Fred told me what you were planning. Be warned. Break her heart, and you have the six of us to answer to. Especially Ron."

Harry grinned and blushed slightly. He began to open his presents. He got a fake wand and candies from the twins (the candies he was reluctant about), a book from Hermione (Quidditch Teams and Statistics), a photo album from Ron of the past four years (most of the pictures were taken by Colin Creevy, he noticed, although some were taken in first year), and a new cage for Hedwig from Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

"Gee, thanks everyone. And thanks, Bill and Charlie, for coming out," Harry said. "I think I'm going to go outside for a short walk. Be right back!"

He began to walk down towards the creek, and he sat on the bank and let his bare feet dangle in the water.

"Harry?" called a female voice.

"Oh, Ginny," he said, shocked. "What are you doing here?"

"I didn't give you your present," she explained. She handed him a picture that she'd obviously drawn. It was a sketch of Hermione, Ron, himself, and her. Hermione and Ron had their arms around each other, looking at each other, but not quiet in the eyes. Harry was sitting on the ground in front of them, rolling his eyes dramatically at Hermione and Ron, propped up by the palm of his hands. Ginny was sitting on her knees beside Harry, trying to cover her giggles with her hand.

"Wow, Ginny. This is really good. I love it," he told her. Then, he leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Ginny, will you make my birthday wish come true and be my girlfriend?"

"Yes," she said, grinning shyly.

Harry stood up, then helped Ginny up, and they walked back to the Burrow hand-in-hand.

"Well, look at that, dear brother," George commented, looking out the window.

"Well, it seems as if our services are no longer needed concerning those two," Fred said, indicating to Ginny and Harry, walking towards the house holding hands.

"But," complained George, "what are we going to do with the fireworks?"

"Don't worry, dear brother," Fred grinned evilly. "When those two are concerned," he said, pointing to Ron and Hermione, who were leaning on each other on the couch, "we are never out of business. They are always fighting. And we'll always fix them back up."

"Ah," George sighed happily. "A Magical Matchmaker's work is never done."
