CH. 3

I helped Ginny back into the house and then again back into her bedroom. She looked so sad. And I would need her more than ever if Ron and Hermione's 'talk' had worked out as I think it did. It's been so obvious that they like each other since third year. Hermione being oblivious to the obvious. How ironic. (A/N... 'oblivious to the obvious' is a phrase I use a lot!!) A small owl flew in, delivering me a package. Glancing at the return address, I saw that it was July 30, the day before my birthday.

Happy Birthday Harry. How are you? Hope the Weasley's are treating you great although I know they are! I talked to Molly who said you all will be at Diagon Alley tomorrow. I will see you there.

I then heard the door open. Thinking it was Hermione and Ron, I almost began to rush downstairs, until I heard them yelling at each other.

"Whatever is in my letter is none of your business, Ronald Weasley!"

"Go to your room and write back to that git; I don't care!" he yelled back. "Do your parents know your dating a guy so much older than you? What kind of parents would let their sixteen year old daughter date an eighteen year old man?"

"Date?! We are just friends, and my parents trust my taste in friends. Not that it's any of your business anyway!" Hermione stormed up the stairs and past me, as I tried not to get her to notice me. I saw her slam the bathroom door behind her, and it looked as if she was about to cry. When the two of them are into another row, I have learned to stay out of it.

Ron picked up Ginny's tattered Transfiguration book (which used to be his) off of the floor and threw it down forcefully and angrily. I stepped out.

"Ron, what has that book done to you? I could've sworn that it was Potions that gave you the most trouble, not Transfiguration."

I tried my best not to chuckle in slight amusement as Ron looked jealous/furious. Could he not see it yet? Is was soo.... "Can you believe it? He wrote her a letter! He-" Ron broke off, sputtering in disbelief.

"Ron, could we be jealous?"

"Hell, yeah! Harry, I..... I love her." I gasped in disbelief, not at the fact the he owed her, but the fact that he admitted to it. He leaned against the wall, as if his anger had worn him out.

"Ron?" called Hermione. Ron and I jerked his head around to see her standing at the top of the stairs, staring at him in disbelief.

"Ohh..... sh-"

"Ron, don't swear!" she snapped. Then her voice changed again. "Did... did you just say... that you love me?"
