April 13th, 1912. One day left until disaster strikes and everyone - nosey stewards, worried friends, and an enraged fiance - seems to be intent on keeping James and Lily apart. They don't need the help -- they can do that themselves. Chapter 12 features Bill Weasley, Petunia Dursley, and several not-so-nice surprises.

Lily ponders her relationship with Lucius while James sulks and thinks about her in his cabin. Lily tries to give Lucius another chance, but decides its hopeless and goes to apologise to James. Too bad he may just have a little trouble accepting her apology.

Lily and James finally have some alone time and then some. Sirius is threatened by Lucius Malfoy. Again. Remus gets worried about James, Peter does some sneaking around, and someone is revealed to have kissed a dead fish. No wonder this is my favourite chapter.

James thinks, Petunia spies, Lucius plots revenge, and confessions of undying love are uttered in the confines of an enclosed wardrobe.

James runs into Peter and gets accused of a crime he didn't commit. Sirius tells Lily the truth about his change while Lily confronts Lucius and decides to end her engagement to him. Things go wrong from there.
