Singled Out

Lily Evans is a fourth-year at Hogwarts, a truly exceptional girl who is fated to be singled out. Sixth-year James Potter, who shares her fate, comes into her life, oozing charisma. The decision to dump her boyfriend for James comes easily. But, will sticking with him be that painless? Meanwhile, Voldemort is growing stronger and some of the best and the brightest of Hogwarts are being seduced by his minions. In a troubled time, the school is already threatening to become the only haven in all of England. Indeed, the pessimists fear that the world as it is known will come crashing down. You may know the ending, but do you how it came about?

Last chapter, Lily met James down in the common room. Today, we meet some of their friends and acquaintances as they try to make it on time to their classes. A fair bit of Remus’ PoV for the scene in the Marauders’ room, which comprises the larger part of the chapter.

Last chapter gave a brief glimpse of Lily’s morning. This continues that, and the girl who will eventually be Narcissa Malfoy makes an appearance. James has some deep soul-searching, and I’m sure that you, dear reader, will come to the conclusion that he is a sad wanker. There’s an emergency and Lily meets the Invisibility Cloak. Harold, who is still rather 2-d (and will remain that way for some time), at least shows up in the flesh.

James pulls a prank on Lily. She, needless to say, is NOT amused. When the prank’s effects become completely clear, she becomes even less amused, if that’s possible. Meanwhile, Sirius makes a number of cutting remarks, which James gets really pissed at. Narcissa Forest plays a role in the events that are to come.

The duel between Sirius and James begins. Sirius shows what he capable of, the basis for his imprisonment in Azkaban. Narcissa goes to a meeting, and there begins her descent into Darkness.

The first Origins of Magic class. Dumbledore has a meeting or two. A highly UNIQUE pair of OCs enter the story.

Lily meets Harold down at the kitchens. Some of the tension at Hogwarts is revealed in a conversation with her hitherto absent roommate. Finally, she meets James. The result is…interesting. ^_^

Tragedy strikes. Minor tragedy. And Lily is invited into Origins of Magic. Oh, and a prank is planned. Finally, we meet Narcissa again. She IS an annoying one, neh?
