Chapter 11 - Hogsmeade.

 

Next morning Harry woke up.

"That was a wonderful night" he thought.

"I had a great night too" he heard Karlien say in his head, Harry was stunned.

"I… I… I heard you talk in my head!" He said disbelieved.

"I told you we were able to do telepathy now! This proves it, we’re ‘The One’ for each other!" she said excited.

"Cool! We can help each other in class now! Let’s tell nobody about it, and tell Ron and Hermione after Christmas, because we were supposed to do it with Christmas, and they know that, don’t they?" Harry said.

"Yes, they know it, but don’t know about this.

It’s a magical connection, unbreakable, and there’s no way anybody else can hear it, not even with the most complex dark magic. We’re connected to each other until death parts us, we can do things nobody else can, like telepathy. There must be more things, but these are not known, we’ll have to find out ourselves." She said.

"Let’s get dressed now" Harry thought.

"Your right, breakfast time" she thought.

 

"Morning Ron, morning Hermione." Harry said.

"You sound extremely happy today, why?" Ron asked.

"Don’t tell them!" Karlien thought.

"Do I? I slept very well, and the music from last night was great."

"You don’t look like you slept well, and to be honest, you hardly slept tonight." Karlien thought.

"You don’t look like you slept well, you too Karlien, but I think I don’t want to know why." Ron said.

 

After breakfast, they went to Hogsmeade, there were some Aurors in case there was another attack, but that didn’t came. They had a great time, first they went to Honeydukes, the candy shop, candy warehouse to be precisely.

They bought a lot of sweets, and Ron’s order had arrived, he paid, and the collection case for the chocolate frogs was in his possession. He was looking forward on using it, but he put it in his backpack and they went on, straight to Zonkos.

 

There was a new part of the building under construction.

"Great! They are expanding!" Ron said, but then he saw the message that was written on the wooden screen that surrounded the construction site.

 

Next summer holiday, a new shop will open here.

"Gred and Forge? Fred and George? Does mum know about this?" Ron asked.

"She’ll have to, were else would they got the money to finance such a big thing?" Hermione said.

"You’re right." Ron said.

But Harry wasn’t so sure that Mrs Weasley knew about it, he knew another way they could pay it, he gave them a thousand galleons last summer.

 

They entered Zonkos, and saw Fred and George talking with the manager.

"Discussing things about their shop" Harry thought to Karlien.

"Probably, but don’t look at me when you think to me, don’t act like were talking." She thought, looked forward, and not at Harry, who was walking next to her.

"Okay" he said, looking like he didn’t talked at all.

They looked at stuff for a while, but bought nothing.

 

They walked through Hogsmeade the whole afternoon, and at three o’clock Harry realised they had to buy pieces of animals.

They went back to Zonkos and bought a Bat-mask, with real bat hair on it.

They already had taken a feather from Hedwig, and only needed a lion hair and a Phoenix feather.

They went to the apothecary and, they had plenty of lion hair, but they were just in time for the Phoenix feather, it was the last one, and someone behind them needed one too.

The man was furious, and Karlien had to use magic to stop him from taking care of her with his bare fists. There were no further incidences, and when the evening began, the went to the Three Broomsticks to have a drink.

They all bought a butterbeer, and found an empty table in the middle, they sat down. Harry noticed people recognised him, but they weren’t looking at Harry, but at the girl next to him, Karlien.

"Look all those people staring at you! They must know you’re my girlfriend, whole wizard world knows after that radio interview. Look at him! He’s looking furious at me, he must be jealous!" Harry thought to Karlien without looking at her, and just drinking his butterbeer.

"Your right, now I know how you feel when people see you for the first time." She thought.

They talked for almost two hours. But then McGonagall entered the pub and ordered everyone to come back to the castle, to have dinner.

"I totally forgot about dinner," Ron said, "Look at the time, eight o’clock! Very late, normally they order us to go back at six."

When they walked back trough Hogsmeade, they saw all shops were closed. Only the pubs were open. I was creepy silent, and all the Halloween decorations made it even creepier.

 

When dinner was finished, they ran upstairs to see if Ron’s collection case worked.

They worked for an hour, and finally all the cards were in the map, except one, the one with Harry on it.

"There’s no place for Harry’s card!" Ron yelled furious.

"Ron, you must read the note that came with it." Hermione said.

 

If there is new card, and there’s no place for it in this case, you must put it on the card that’s drawn on the inside of the cover. It will check the card on being real, and will make place for it.

 

Ron opened the map, and saw a rectangle shape, it had the size of a card. Ron put the card on it, and the card disappeared. They were shocked. But suddenly pages began to turn, until the last page, and there was the card, in a new holder.

Suddenly there were sparks in all colours, a lout bang, smoke came from the case, and when the smoke was gone, there was another new card. Ron was stunned.

There was a picture of Ron on it.

The first one ever to complete the whole collection of Chocolate Frog Cards.

He’s Harry Potter’s best friend, and accompanied him on his adventures.

His hobby is spending time with his friends and making fun of the people he hates.

His likes bats and hates spiders.

The Chudley Cannons is his favourite Quidditch team.

He’s 15 years old, and is in Hogwarts right now, in Gryffindor house.

 

Ron couldn’t speak for five minutes, he only stared at his card, which he was holding in his hand now.

"I’ve never seen him this happy" Harry thought to Karlien.

"Never? He must be really proud than!" She thought.

 

When Ron could move and talk again, the went to the common room to show it to their other friends.

Fred and George, who were collecting the cards them self, were really jealous. They couldn’t speak either. Ginny was just proud of him, and everybody else was pushing each other aside to see the card and congratulate Ron.

 

Suddenly something was knocking on the window, an owl, and it carried an envelope.

Ginny opened the window, and the owl flew straight to Ron.

He opened it.

"h-h-h-h-h-hundred thousand galleons?" he yelled, so loud that the whole Gryffindor house heard it.

A few people, like Ginny fainted, and a Head-Boy went to get Madam Pomfrey for the fainted people and Dumbledore, McGonagall, Sirius and Remus.

When they arrived, Ron was still in shock status.

Madam Pomfrey took care of the fainted ones, and Dumbledore, McGonagall, Sirius and Remus congratulated Ron.

"What did you get?" Dumbledore asked curious.

Harry told him about the card, the life supply of Chocolate Frogs, and the hundred thousand galleons, because Ron still wasn’t able of speech.

Sirius and Remus seemed stunned too for a moment, Dumbledore and McGonagall smiled.

They wanted to make Ron talk, but nothing could make him talk, as a last try, Hermione kissed him on his mouth, and it worked.

He ‘woke up’ and shacked his head, to throw away the confusion.

"I’ve more money than any of you now, first I was the poorest, now I’m the richest." He said.

"I think you’ll be surprised about my amount of money, but I don’t think it will be more than yours." Harry said, Ron smiled.

"I want my own safe in Gringotts, I want it safe for later, I don’t want to use it yet." Ron said.

"That’s very wise of you, many people would’ve spent it right away, and they’ll get problems later. I’ll owl Gringotts for a safe, tonight, I’m sure it can be arranged," Dumbledore said, tomorrow you’ll have your own safe, I promise, you must write a letter to Chocolate Frog Enterprise and tell them to put the money in there."

"I will, thank you." Ron said.

 

They were talking about what to do with the money later in their own dorm that night.

"We can buy a nice house when we finish Hogwarts." Hermione said.

"Do you think we’ll still be together then?" Ron asked.

"I hope so." Hermione said.

"Would you have also hoped that if I haven’t won the money?" Ron asked

"Well, can I think about my answer?" She said, Ron didn’t realised she was teasing him.

"Of course I do, I loved when you had no money, and the fact that you have money now didn’t make my love stronger. I still love you more than anything." She said.

And she kissed him.

 

Harry realised what they were going to do, created a privacy screen.

They changed into their pyjamas, and he and Karlien went to bed, to sleep, because they almost didn’t sleep last night.

 

Next week was the first Quidditch match of the year, it was against Hufflepuf.

They had trained really hard the last few weeks, and they al mastered all the special moves. Ron was getting really good in being seeker now, but he was just reserve, and Harry hoped he didn’t had to use him. Not because Ron wasn’t good enough, but he liked playing it him self to much.

The whole team and the reserves were changing into their Quidditch robes.

Than Harry held a little talk before the match.

 

"I want to have very much points, I want to be far ahead on the other houses, I don’t want any risk not wining the cup.

Girls," he said to the chasers, "Score as much as you can, I’ll wait with catching the snitch, and I’ll cover Kevin Withby, the Hufflepuf seeker. I heard he’s a natural, he’s only in his second year."

Everyone nodded.

"Karlien, if you see Kevin diving or something, please tell me, maybe I won’t be watching." He thought to Karlien, who agreed.

 

They entered the field, and everybody except the Slytherins were impressed by their robes, which showed beautiful lions and the names.

 

"Potter, Eagletrainer, shake hands." Madam Hooch said.

Harry shacked Eaglytrainer’s hand, he was the Hufflepuf captain and keeper.

They mounted their brooms, and flew in the sky. The match had began.

"Potter is the new Gryffindor captain, and he discovered van Voorthuizen, a natural Keeper" Lee Jordan said, who as usual doing the commentary. But McGonagall interrupted him, "Can you please tell us about the match?" she asked gently, which was rare, because normally she told him off if he did something wrong.

"Johnson in ball possession" He said.

She dodged the Hufflepuf chasers, and scored.

"TEN - ZERO for Gryffindor." Jordan said.

They whole Gryffindor house burst into applause for Angelina.

Gryffindor scored a few more times, and Karlien stopped all the balls.

Two hours later, Harry still hadn’t spotted the Snitch, he asked for a time-out.

Madam Hooch gave the sign, and all the players flew down.

"Don’t you think you’re exaggerating a little Harry? The score is 450-10, you really can catch the Snitch." Ron said, who also came on the field when Harry asked for a time-out .

"I’d love to catch the Snitch, I just can’t find it," he said desperate, "it’s hiding very good today."

"I’ll be looking for it, and you’ll be scoring as much as you can. Back to the game!" Harry said. And the game went on.

After two more hours, Harry saw that the spectators were getting bored. He called another time-out. It was 740-40 now. Harry walked called Kevin Withby, the Hufflepuf seeker, and asked him if he had seen the Snitch yet. He hadn’t.

"The spectators are getting bored, I want to talk to them, is that okay?" Harry asked Madam Hooch.

"Yes, you can." She answered.

He flew to the top-box and Lee Jordan handed him the megaphone.

 

"This is Harry Potter speaking, we have a situation on the field, Withby and I both can’t find the Snitch. And other players are getting tired. I’ll be using reserve players soon. If you want to, you can go back to the castle and go to bed. We will play the game without you."

He flew back, and he saw some first and second years heading back to the castle.

 

When the match was another hour further, Karlien thought to him.

"Harry, Alicia is getting really tired, maybe you should let Hermione change with her, she must rest."

"Your right."

 

He asked a time-out again, called Hermione, and asked her to replace Alicia, she agreed.

Alicia was really thankful for that. The other players weren’t tired yet, they were just playing less intense. Only Harry was starting to get tired, because he was searching more than ever to find the Snitch.

 

"Gryffindor is changing Granger for Spinnet." Jordan said, still commentating as if the game just began.

Ten minutes later, Hufflepuf changed all their chasers, and one beater.

Hermione scored a lot of times, because she was still fit, the others weren’t playing very much anymore.

Harry was getting really tired now, he looked at his watch, half past twelve. He was unable to controlled a very large yawn.

While he yawned he felt something come in his mouth with high speed, it was choking him. He flew down the ground in full speed. Everybody thought he had seen the Snitch, and hold their breath.

Harry stepped of his broom, and coughed very much.

"What’s the matter, honey?" Karlien thought to him.

"I can’t breath" he thought back. And she flew towards him.

Madam Hooch saw there was something wrong, and blew her whistle, another time-out.

Just then Karlien arrived at Harry, and slapped him hard on his back, it hurt, but it worked. Harry, who was holding his hands in front of his mouth, caught the thing that had choked him. It was the Snitch, the game was over, finally.

Madam Hooch ended the time-out, and immediately after that, she ended the game. Because the game couldn’t be ended during a time-out, because the game officially was off during a time-out.

 

Everybody was relieved that the game was finally over. Gryffindor had won with 1130-120.

The teams went to the shower immediately, took a quick shower, and went back to the castle, to sleep.
