The beginning of the Christmas holidays past quickly as the gang spent time relaxing and doing couple things - Ron and Hermione had now openly declared to the others that they were dating. It was soon Christmas day and everyone had woken early. After the traditional opening and swapping of gifts, the five Gryffindors plus Oliver spent the rest of the morning lounging around the common room until it was time for the Christmas feast. They all walked down to the Great Hall in their couples - each couple holding hands. The Professors were the only ones present in the Great Hall - a single long table had replaced the house and Head Table for Christmas. As the couples entered McGonagall sent Jenna and Oliver a disapproving glare.

"Welcome everyone, Merry Christmas to you all."

Dumbledore welcomed the Gryffindors to the feast as they took their seats. They were soon joined by the other remaining students - Cho Chang, Draco Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle and a couple of Hufflepuff first years.

Halfway through the feast the conversations and Christmas cheer were in full swing between everyone. However, Draco, Crabbe and Goyle were muttering to each other, shooting sly glances at the Gryffindors when no one was looking. Currently the six Gryffindors were talking to Professor Lupin about becoming Aurors.

"So we really have to...."

Ron started before he was interrupted by a sneering voice.

"Personally I'm above dating such wizarding trash."

The voice carried across the hall - it belonged to Draco Malfoy. Next to him, Crabbe and Goyle were now staring pointedly at the Gryffindor girls. Draco hadn't realised how loud he was speaking until Ron, Harry and Oliver rose as one from their seats.

"And what exactly is that suppose to mean Malfoy?"

Harry snapped at Draco as the three lads shot to the girls defences. Draco shot his head up to glare at Harry and was about to retort when the Gryffindor girls hissed at their boyfriends.

"Will you sit down, he's just trying to get a rise out of you," Hermione shushed Ron.

"Now's not the time to start throwing hexes. In case you didn't notice, there are Professors present," Kara hissed at Harry.

"You trying to lose your job?" Jenna whispered to Oliver.

"You would do wise to listen to Miss Geminus, Mr Wood. Where as I would be delighted to hear what you have to say to young Mr Malfoy, I'm sure one particular Gryffindor would be disappointed to see you leave."

Snape glanced knowingly at Jenna. It was now common knowledge among the Professors about Oliver's relationship with her - a few including Snape and McGonagall didn't approve. Oliver, Harry and Ron slowly sat back down in their seats.

"Severus, how is that new potion of yours going?"

Dumbledore asked cheerily, noting the end of the previous conversation. The others took the hint and changed the conversation. By the end of the meal it had turned to Quidditch.

"Oh for pity's sake not again. You two coming?"

Kara rose from her seat followed by Hermione. Jenna remained seated and was about to delve into the conversation with the three lads.

"Jenna, are you coming?"

Kara didn't wait for an answer before she was pulling her sister out of her seat and out of the Hall.

"But Kara, Quidditch."

"Exactly my reason for leaving."

"There's more to life than Quidditch Jenna."

Jenna stopped in the entrance hall and rounded on Hermione, her mouth wide open in shock.

"You blasphemer!"

"That's a big word for you Jen."

Jenna was about to go into a long explanation about why Quidditch was the best thing ever when a raven-haired oriental girl interrupted them.

"Excuse me, you're Kara right?"

"Yeah that's me."

"I just wanted to tell you that I am disgusted by your actions with Malfoy at the Yule Ball. How could you do that to Harry?"

Kara turned to Hermione, her nose wrinkled in disgust.

"Who's this?"

"Cho Chang, seventh year Ravenclaw seeker - used to go out with Harry."

Hermione informed Kara, a slightly worried look on her face. Cho stood there with her arms crossed defensively across her chest and a look of utter hatred on her face. Kara turned back to Cho with a very 'Malfoyish' sneer on her face.

"Well then Cho, my relationship with Harry is none of your business. I'd advise you to stay out of it."

"I will not. I won't let you treat Harry like that - he's been through enough."

Jenna rolled her eyes at Cho and suddenly something Hermione had told them previously clicked in her head.

"Cho, Cho, wait a sec, aren't you the one that is always crying? Are you going to cry now? D'you want a tissue?"

"I had a lot to deal with that year."

Cho mumbled, her eyes down on the floor. Jenna then got into full swing - no-one started on her sister.

"Okay let me get this straight, maybe it's just the blonde in me that needs to state the obvious - you dated Harry last year right, cried a lot and broke up, then probably cried some more. I'm missing the part about why it is any of your business what my sister does to or with Harry."

Kara turned to Jenna with a look of amusement, she felt slightly sorry for Cho.

"Jen, just leave it. It's not worth the waste of breath."

"Sorry Kay but I'm not done yet."

Jenna turned from Kara to confront Cho, who had foolishly decided that it was a good idea to get into an argument with a Geminus.

"Okay, lets make one thing perfectly clear - you dated Harry, dated past tense as in not anymore. So it's none of your business what he does or who he dates."

"I'm making it my business."

Cho answered bravely, she wasn't about to back down to a sixth year's threat. Kara shook her head as a warning but Jenna just smirked at Cho.

"Well then if you insist, then I must insist on making it my business to stop you interfering - tell me why are you so foolish to mess with a Geminus?"

Cho didn't get a chance to reply as Oliver, Ron and Harry joined them. Oliver came up behind Jenna and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her on the cheek - not noticing at first that Cho was standing with the three girls and was looking very put out.

"What's going on?"

Oliver asked, now noticing Cho and the look on her face. Harry joined Kara slipping his arm around her waist as Ron joined Hermione's side and did the same.

"Nothing, just a friendly chat."

Kara answered, not trusting the words that would probably spill from her sister's mouth. She leaned into Harry giving a challenging look to Cho. Harry stood awkwardly at her side, noticing the look that Cho gave Kara in return. Oliver saw the look too and attempted to make polite conversation.

"So Cho, how have you been?"

Cho turned her gaze to Oliver, assuming a sweet smile - avoiding a 'don't even try it' look from Jenna.

"I'm fine, how's Puddlemere United treating you?"

"It was okay, not really what I expected. When Dumbledore sent me an owl asking if I'd consider a job as a TA and I read that I'd be working with Lupin and Hooch, I jumped at the chance."

"I'm glad you did."

Jenna smiled at Oliver.

"Me too."

"So the rumours were true then. I thought Macmillan was just making it up at the match - I didn't think you one for younger girls Oliver."

Cho said, raising an eyebrow at Oliver.

"There's not that big an age difference and besides we like each other. I don't see a problem."

"I'd say being a TA is a huge problem."

Jenna cut across Oliver before he had chance to reply.

"Is your life so boring that you have to butt your nose in not just my sister's but my love life as well? You seriously need to get a hobby."

"Jen, play nice."

Oliver said unconvincingly - if he wasn't a TA then he'd have a few choice words to say to Cho.

"Don't mean to get all playground on you but she started it. I'm just finishing it."

"Well let me finish it, I don't fancy a display of Geminus temper again - not on Christmas Day. Let's just get back to the tower."

"Good idea Oliver."

Harry agreed with Oliver, although he secretly thought it was amusing to see two girls fighting over him.

"It was nice to see you Cho, have a good Christmas."

Oliver said as he led a disgruntled Jenna off to Gryffindor tower before her temper could get into full swing. The six Gryffindors then spent the rest of Christmas day in the tower chatting and lounging around. They were eventually joined by Professor Lupin and they continued their conversation about Auror training that had been previously interrupted by Malfoy.

The next morning (Boxing Day), Kara informed the others that she was going to the library to work on her potions project.

"Kara, it's the Christmas holidays - can't you give it a break? Even Hermione's not doing work."

Harry inclined his head to Hermione, who was being otherwise preoccupied by Ron to stop her from doing any work.

"Look Harry - the sooner I get this finished, the sooner I get to stop seeing that git Malfoy. Then I can spend more time with you, you understand don't you? I just want to get this project over with quickly."

"Yeah okay, just don't spend all day in the library."

"I'll only be there as long as I have to."

Kara gave Harry a quick kiss on the cheek before grabbing her bag and leaving the common room.
