- Well, for the ending, I’d just like to note that it’s like a small theory of a friend of mines that Lily and James are descendants of Rowena and Godric. It’s going to have most of my favorite couplings including L/J, S/OC, R/OC, H/Hr, C/G, etc. (C/G—Colin/Ginny)
La-De-Da – Case #1 : The Lost Locket
---
“So, do you remember our first case?” Yume asked her big sister, Hemi.
Hemi rolled her eyes, throwing down some papers , “Of course, how could I forget?”
Who ever said that being a Cupid Angel was easy? Their mom; that’s who.
“I wonder, if Earth Angels have it more easily,” Yume mused. She always had her head in the clouds. Despite the fact that it was literal.
Angels were a species, you might say. Sort of like vampires… which are their opposites. Some of them are dead, but there are different kinds of angels. The primary angels – the Holy Ones, The Rested Dead, Love Angels(Cupid Angels), Dark Angels, and Earth Angels. Earth Angels were more difficult; they had emotions and everything! They were alive and sometimes married humans… Dark Angels liked chaos; to cause, to sit and watch, and then gloat. They were just heartless. Love Angels, or more preferably, Cupid Angels, had the job of destiny and fate of… well, quite frankly, love. They chose who were destined to be together—it wasn’t so easy when your clients aren’t making it easy. Yet most angels said it was the easiest thing. The Rested Dead were self explanatory—they were usually not called that, but it was the technically name. The Holy Ones were another matter all together. The Assembly of God. They were left alone.
With all of those, there were “sub-species.” How? Well, there’s Arch Angels, from all of the primary groups; then there were the E.A.C. (Earth Angel Complication). With earth angels; there were angel-borns, half-angels, unangels, etc, etc. It was complicated (hence the name). The others did not want to talk about them much. With the exception of angels like Yume, of course.
Hemi, unlike her sister, acted with pride; which was awful, since pride was a sin. Though it was dismissed—since Cupids weren’t holy.
Yume sighed, remembering something, “It was about a thousand years ago… don’t you remember? I remember like it was yesterday…” Angels lived a long time – an eternity. Though EA’s were another story.
Hemi glared at her, “Of course! I told you I did! WE were suspended for a long, long while… I DON’T like being suspended! It was all your fault!”
“Nuh-uh! It was yours!” Being suspended meant that their age was held but for Cupids, it was different. Being suspended was second to being fired and turned human. Not only that they were one age for a long, long time; they were also frozen in time in the place called the Void. Now, being fourteen and sixteen, but messed up big time, their sentence was only cut one century. They were released in the 1900s. Adapting eventually, by the time they got to even look at any L-Files (basic records, statistics, on persons love lives) until the 1950s. It was a rough century indeed. Far from their simple lives; but they were glad they didn’t have the life sentence (they took love very seriously)—which was forever.
“We’re not messing up again,” Hemi said firmly.
It was Yume’s turn to roll her eyes, “It was your fault first. You had bad aim.”
Hemi wrinkled her nose, “Whatever. I’m glad we don’t have to use those arrows no more. Horrible things.” Yume rolled her eyes again. Hemi was so stupid sometimes and she was older than Yume.
“Oh please!”
“I’ve written our case… Mistress is reviewing it.”
“She is not. She’s just reading it like it was some story.”
“Well, then. That’s even better.”

Final Report
By Yume and Hemi
Case # 1: The Lost Locket
Date: about 1000
Clients: Godric Gyffindor & Rowena Ravenclaw, two of the Hogwarts Four, professors
Objectives: To: (1) get the two to fall in love.(2) Keep them in love.(3) Get Salazar Slyhterin to fall out of love with Rowena. (4) Set things right.
Status: Case closed; failed in the long run.
Step One: Choosing the Case
It was a thousand years ago. Not a proud time, like today… it’s so different from then. I still remember my brief childhood. Just frolicking in the clouds literally. It wasn’t so complex… yet jobs were always complicated. We, my sister, Hemi, and myself, we recruited into our jobs. Cupids, we were born for it, and it was our time to work. Unfortunately, it wasn’t going so well. When we chose that case; we didn’t know what was ahead.
It was simple times, we didn’t know this one was so complex! Mother had handed us some files of certain couples. As some people might now forget; we don’t cause them to fall in love, they’ve already had love inside their hearts, and we’re just making them see it. People nowadays forget that— A LOT.
Hemi didn’t want a small case by the way. No one does but I wanted the small one. I said that we should start small, and simple. She said everything was simple and everything was at that time. Our case surprised both of us. What can I say? It was unpredicted. Our mother had picked those files out. I guess that one got in by mistake or she thought we wouldn’t even consider that. It’s all Hemi’s fault.
The case was absolutely beautiful. How can I put it? It was so simplistic, yet, we messed up big time!
Wizards and witches, most angels back then didn’t mingle with them. I don’t think we do now either. It seemed so easy though.
We thought it was easy but we were wrong.
Step Two: Observing the Clients
It wasn’t so easy. Especially not with them. We took a look at them, invisible of course. Now it’s much easier, but back then, you had to watch them physically. Oh dear! They were constant companions but they didn’t say a thing! It was frustrating. Especially that they both keep feelings inside! ALL of them did. Really annoying. Of course, nowadays, there’s probably a lot of that now. Complicated century this is. Oi.
It was unusual during those days though. People used to keep emotions right outside. It wasn’t fair that Hemi picked a hard one! I still blame her for everything. I know it was both our fault, but she shouldn’t have picked that particular case in the first place! It was too hard!
Step Three: Tuning a Plan
Hemi should have faced it. We were rookies and we needed more than a plan! But that’s all she came up with! Mother may had 5837 successful cases at the time; but WE didn’t. Hemi should have faced that fact and I should have held her back. I didn’t though and we had to pay.
Hemi’s plans usually work. I was hesitant, but… I didn’t do anything. I don’t know… I was stupid though for not doing so. The plan was to put a thought in Godric’s head to give Rowena a gift for that Christmas. A locket.
It almost worked too! Rowena loved it, and she kept it close to her heart.
Nothing but a closer friendship. It was getting more, and more frustrating.
Step Four: Love and Lost
We finally had it. We got them to fall in love. It was normal really. Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena had recently become best of friends but Helga was one of those weird people. She had dragged the founders into the library, one afternoon. All the students were visiting the wizarding town below. Wizards, are they even more complicated than non-magical folk? I do not understand why they are called Muggles now, it sounds weird.
Helga wanted them all to be closer. She demanded they tell their life story. She told hers first. It wasn’t so sad and tragic, but the others envied her. Salazar Slytherin’s tale was just horribly terrible! So dark and so sad… We felt so sorry for him! Yet, we thought he was being a little harsh on Muggles. Godric’s tale was thrilling and morbid… never knew he could be so pitiful. Rowena refused to tell her tale. Hemi looked at me and I nodded.
Just when Helga was about to give in to her plead. I made her tell. She was temperamental after she did. The other three had very, very, pity-filled faces. She had stormed out. Godric followed. Just what we hoped for.
Godric followed Rowena all the way to the unfinished Astronomy Tower. She was on the floor, crying. It was an odd site. We never saw her cry. It was so sad. Godric felt the same too.
It was a very romantic moment.
I remember that scene well. It made me want to have someone to love too. Godric sat next her. He put one arm on his knee and told her it was okay… it was over… it the past; she needed to move on. Tears were streaming down her face… he just wanted to take them away…
He eyes closed and his face drew closer to hers. She was still, soft shaking in sadness… she felt his warm lips on her face and felt lighter… He kissed away her tears… Rowena, being so filled with joy, brought his lips to hers… then an indescribable moment…
The thing was… Salazar was in love with her too. He didn’t even notice it until he saw them together. He was going to the tower to see if Rowena was okay. He could tell she was too. He lost her. Hemi pitied him greatly and said that we should have him lose that love… but how?
Step Five: Trying to Fall Out of Love
It was dangerous getting someone to fall out of love… it really was (is it easier now?). Some people just fall in love with people their suppose to. This is where the arrows came in. I suggested we try to get Salazar to fall in love hopelessly in love with someone else.
Hemi said it was just infatuation, so just make him love Helga. So which arrows should we use? Infatuation? Or just plain madly in love? I wanted madly in love and Hemi wanted the latter. We chose mine.
Here was our second mistake. Since she was older, Hemi got to use the arrows. Well, we were waiting and Hemi was practicing her aim. She’s awful at it! She only does good because of luck. Well, she had just ruined our mission! When she was practicing, she hit someone! Rowena! Ugh! And who happened to come across her? Salazar! Now Rowena was confused on who she loved…
Oh it was bad. Bad, bad, bad!

The Mistress was the Archangel Cupid, she reviewed everything. Fortunately for Hemi and Yume, she was very much like Yume. Hemi wasn’t so thrilled as her sister. She thought that was stupid but they had other problems than that.
Hemi threw another pile of files unto a cloud, which raced off after, “All witches and wizards! Yeesh! Everything’s complicated! Augh!”
Yume yawned, “Oh you know why they sent us these. We have to make up for our mistake last time. Hemi groaned. Yume glared at her and snatched the rest of the files, “Here! Lemme choose! Yeesh!” she speedily looked into each file, “The 1970s… what do you know?” she rolled her eyes.

Step Six: Confusion and Hope
Rowena wasn’t feeling so clear. She was absolutely confused now… who did she love? She isolated herself from the others again; like she did before she met them. It wasn’t a good feeling, that loneliness. She kept on though. Avoiding being hurt like she did when she was a teenager…
It was heart-breaking to watch that. We received news from the former Mistress that we would be suspended if we did not correct this. Obliviously we did, but that was another matter.
There was hope though, during this time of confusion. Not for her, but for us. Someway to restart it all over. It was easy to get her and Godric together now… but we had to restart everything!
Step Seven: The Siege
Now as we about to do that, collect the desire of their hearts, there came something very, very dangerous. There was a siege of some Christian radicals. They stormed into the castle and the Hogwarts Four had to evacuate everyone of their students.
Rowena, while evacuating students from the Gyffindor House (she and Helga were in charge of getting the girls), had dropped the locket she received from Godric. She, fearing she’d lose it outside for its chain had broken, hid under a loose floorboard in a girls’ dormitory. No one has found it yet to my knowledge.
Now, as everyone probably remembers, love can be forgotten if an arrow is shot at the person if you do not take away that feeling. Oh and we couldn’t restart! And so… Rowena had forgotten.
Step Eight: Downfall
Precisely when Rowena Ravenclaw forgot her love for Godric Gyffindor, we were doomed. After being summoned to the Cupid Council, we were sentenced to be suspended and sent to the Void.
I remember thinking that I’ll never find out what happened to them. It was probably for the best; I didn’t want to see them die. Hemi and I were very, very surprised when we were let out of the Void. Sure, our age is still suspended, and will forever be, but I have my doubts now if we ever should have left the Void.
We failed and we were going to be replaced. The thing was, they were going to fail too.
Step Nine: Brief Victory
One Mena and Hitori had taken our occupation. It worked, for a while. Because of just pure luck; Salazar Slytherin had left Hogwarts. Now they’ve told us, to their dismay, that it was just fortunate. They were right; it was just fortunate. Nothing else.
They had gotten Godric and Rowena after that. Another Astronomy Tower moment… but oh! It did not last! Somehow, I have no idea how, they drifted apart! Oi! I was so frustrated when I heard this news! It wasn’t fair! Just NOT fair! Their romance was doomed. Godric had married someone else and their daughter would marry a man named Potter. Rowena, on the other hand, lives on only through her half-sister’s blood. Through a place she abandoned a long, long time ago…
Step Ten: Our Freedom… A New Mission
Hemi and I are determined to make a successful mission. Could you imagine our shock when we found that we would once again try? I was filled with joy, that’s for sure. Though Hemi didn’t show it she was happy too. I hope to find a mission to make up for our mistakes. Hope is what keeps us going. We know that.

“Oh this one! It’s perfect!” Yume pulled out a small file and put the rest on another cloud.
Hemi sat next to her and frowned, “What’s so perfect about that?”
Yume smiled, “It’s just like Godric and Rowena but their better friends! Oh and they are the descendants of them too!”
“No way!”
“Yes way! He looks like Godric too… except that messier hair.. those brown eyes! Ooh! Too bad he’s human!”
Hemi giggled, “Uh-huh! Great! Let’s take the case!”
Yume smiled, “Yep. Let’s have James Potter fall in love with Lily Evans!”
