Chapter 8: Pay-back Time
Lily watched as James and her only son went back to the days when things were right as they were. Actually, he probably, if she was thinking he would, went all the way back to the night he was born, maybe even a few nights before that.
"He'll be ok Lily," a voice said.
"I know Albus," Lily said. "I know. Do you think I could visit Hermione? Or maybe even the library? You know, give her a glimpse of her future?"
Albus chuckled a little bit.
"Of course you can go to the library. Only the other ghosts and us professors will notice you. The students won't. You won't be in their eyes. I dare say though, you might want to maybe see Professor Snape. James frightened him pretty good the other day. Well with the help of Sirius. You know those two. Can't stand not to tease him once in a while. It's like they were back in Hogwarts all those days before," Albus said. "Only Hermione will be able to see you. Just make sure she's in a isolate corner so that she won't look as if she's talking to herself. Then you can take her to the future."
"Thank-you Albus," Lily said. "And I know they frightened him. I was the one who came up with the idea. They just did the work. Besides, I had to do something to get even with Snape after he made Harry clean the floor with a flimsy toothbrush for no good reason. I even finished it for Harry, as I sent him to his bed. There was no way I was going to let Harry do that."
"Should have known," Albus said. "Knew I felt some powerful magic going on that night."
Lily laughed as she went to find Hermione.
Lily went on to the through the corridors that she once walked through herself as a child. Lily was walking through the corridors when she then saw him. It was Snape. Boy, she was going to have fun now. Always did say to have some fun before work. That and there was a little bit of hell to pay. Lily wouldn't stand for him punishing her son for nothing. Lily then hovered over him and behind him as she then lowered herself to the corridor ground level. She then blew in his ear.
Snape shivered, thinking it was James and Sirius after him again. He never could get those two to leave him alone. He always had one wish though. Was that he could see his Lily again. Lily was the only one that was soft and nice to him.
Lily waited until he had turned the corner and into an empty corridor that headed straight for his quarters. She then blew in his ear again.
Again, he shivered.
Lily did it again.
He shivered, once again.
"Damn it, James! Quit that!" Snape hollered as he got further into the corridor closer to his quarters.
Lily then blew in his ear once again.
Snape quickly turned around to see not James, not Sirius, but Lily.
"Hello Sevy," Lily said, as she looked into his eyes. Sevy was Lily's nickname for Snape.
"Lily?" Snape said. "Is that really you?"
"Yes," Lily said. "And you sure do have hell to pay."
"What ever on earth did I do to upset you my dear Lily?" Snape asked.
"Don't dear me Sevy!" Lily outraged. "You know full well why I'm outraged at you."
"My dear Lily," Snape said. "I'm afraid I do not know what you mean."
"Does the saying go, those who punish those for no reason, will be punished in the end, ring a bell?" Lily asked.
"My dear," Snape said. "I do not know what you are talking about."
"Oh Sevy, I do believe you do," Lily said. "You had no right to punish my son! You had no right to treat him as if he meant nothing to you but as a dirty rag on the floor."
"Lily, that's enough," Sirius warned, now coming into view with Lily.
"No, Siri," Lily said. "I will speak my mind to him, whether he likes it or not. It's a good thing James took Harry in the past. I have my chance now, without James holding me back. And you sure as hell aren't going to either!"
Snape looked terrified, as Lily became more outraged as the minutes went by. Even some of the other professors came to see what was going on. None of them had ever been on the receiving end of Lily's wrath. Heck, only James had.
"Lillian Ambrosia Evans! You will do no such thing towards your fellow classmate," a voice said.
"That's where you're wrong Professor McGonagall. I must, for if I don't then things will never be right," Lily said, more raged as before.
"It's a damn good thing you can't do any magic anymore," Minevera said.
"That's what you think Professor," Lily said and then turned to face Snape, who was a pale as a white feather.
"You had no right to judge and treat Harry, my son like you did! My son! Do you hear me? MY SON! He is not James. He is himself and you gave him no chance to prove that to you. Yes he is James's son in some ways. But you must of have forgotten that I am his mother. He is also mine! I was the one who carried him for nine long months. You don't know what it's been like for him all of these years. Having to live with my dreadful excuse of a sister and her family, having to watch his own mother die right before his very own eyes! You never knew what that was like! YOU NEVER DID!" Lily screamed with anger towards Snape.
"Mum?" a small medium voice, said.
Lily turned to see Harry and James now back from the past. Harry had tears in his eyes as he fled into his mother's warming arms.
"No longer will you be a threat to my son," Lily said, holding her son and looking at Snape. James had now joined her. He decided to put his own two cents in towards Snape.
"Next time you decide to punish our son for something that never was ever necessary, remember that you will always regret it from now on until the day that you die," James said. "It's a wonder I let you live that night."
"Maybe if you hadn't joined Voldemort before the war started, then maybe our daughter might have been born," Lily said.
"Daughter?" Everybody in the corridor asked, except James and Harry.
"Sarah, you can come out now," Lily called out. "She will always be growing, even as a ghost, until the age she would have reached to her death, that is if she was given the chance to live."
A girl that was only 3 years younger than Harry, who looked exactly, like Lily, began to appear. Except the eyes. She had James's eyes with Lily's hair and complexion and every thing else of Lily. The resemblance was amazing.
"Yes Mother," Sarah softly spoke.
"Now, Sevy. Look at her. If she had lived, do you think that you would have treated the same way as you have treated her brother?" Lily asked, still a little raged.
James tugged at her hand.
"Lily," James said. "Enough of this. You've made your point to him. I don't really see why you needed to bring Sarah into this but you've made your point."
"I brought Sarah in because it's about time that Harry knew," Lily said. "Besides, I know he's had questions as to why he was remembering a certain song, on his 16th birthday, just before he woke up."
"He knows already Lil," James said.
"Bubba?" Sarah's soft voice said.
Harry hadn't been used to hearing that name before. He let go of his mother and looked toward Sarah.
"Why do you call me bubba?" Harry asked. "I'd rather much be called bro or just Harry."
"Bro," Sarah said, as she went into Harry's arms.
"Um...Mum? What do I do?" Harry asked.
"I swear, you act just like your father Harry, at times it's just too much," Minevera said. "Just put your arms around her. James did the same thing when Lily kissed him for the first time. He just stood there frozen."
"You saw that?" Both James and Lily asked, now Lily in James' arms.
"Of course," Minevera said. "It was very sweet. Just like Harry is towards Sarah now. And I daresay, that Miss Hermione Granger is missing you right now Harry."
"Off you go Harry," Lily said. "Don't worry, I'll be visiting her too. You're not the only one who needs some glympses of the past or future."
Harry went off like Lily had told him. All of the other professors had cleared out as it was just now Snape, Lily, Sarah, Sirius, and James in the corridor.
Sarah went up to Snape and said, "I too, will be watching you whenever Harry is around you. I always have and always will from now on until my time comes for me to move on to a better place."
"Sarah go back to our little place in the sky," Lily said.
"Yes Mother," Sarah said. "See you at home Father."
"See you there, sweetie," James said.
"Remember, he's James' son, just as well as he is mine," Lily said.
Lily, Sirius, and James then disappeared from Snape's sight.
"Just think how they would have reacted if they knew of Sarah's twin, Nicole," Sirius said. "Then they'd all be fainting. Could you imagine what it'd be like, if Sarah and Nicole had been born before you two were killed? I don't think dear ole Dumbledore would know what to do, with the next three marauders, let alone one in the Potter generation."
Lily and James chuckled at that.
"They'd be just like you four were," Lily said. "Except worse. Both Nicole and Sarah have both of you to thank for that."
