Chapter 7: Ring of Light Shines From Above

"Breakfast!" a very loud voice said.

Sounds of feet shuffling was then heard though out the whole house, or rather the Burrow at least.

Before Molly knew it every chair was filled. Not an empty cranny to be seen.

Are they that hungry? Molly thought. Well ok, if their hungry, I'll feed them.

Molly began to distribute the bacon and eggs. She came over to Harry and started at his plate.

"Thank-you Mrs. Weasley," Harry said.

"Harry, I've said it a million times already. Just call me Molly or Mum, like the rest of em'," Molly said.

"Ok, Molly," Harry said.

"Mum, would you stop fussin' over Harry and give me and my darling sister some food?" George asked.

"Don't call me darling sister again George," Ginny said.

"Oh you know you like it," George said, not aware of her temper this morning.

"Don't push it George," Ginny said. "Mother, may I be excused?"

"Ginny dear, you've barely touched your food. Are you sure?" Molly said.

"Mum, please don't call me dear. And I'm not really hungry," Ginny said, as she got up from the table.

"Well, ok then yes you may," Molly said.

Ginny left the room and went out to her little shaft she had secretly built one summer. It was just outside by the lake. It was enchanted to be only seen by Ginny, and those of course she invited in but rarely ever did. Except that is, for her boyfriend. Nobody knew about him. For one reason he was the son of their number one enemy, the Malfoys'.

Ginny opened the door to her little home away from home. The fireplace was blazing with heat and warmth. It was very warm and cozy inside at the moment.

Draco must be here, Ginny thought.

"Well, it's about time you got here," Draco snarled.

"Oh do shut up will you?" Ginny snarled back. "My back is killing me, must have been from having to stand up all last night while you had your fun."

"Well, you were the one that stayed in that position. Not my fault," Draco said.

"I'm going to bed. Maybe it'll straighten up my back," Ginny said as she began to move towards her bedroom.

"What about my breakfast?" Draco snarled.

"Look in the microwave," Ginny said. "The bacon and eggs are still fresh and warm. I put a spell on them to keep that way for you."

"Thanks," Draco said, coming closer to her body. He put his hands on her hips and then lowered his head and kissed her gently.

"See you later," Ginny said.

"Where are you going?" Draco asked.

"I told you," Ginny snarled. "I'm going to go see if my back will straighten up."

"Not so fast," Draco snarled as he came closer to her.

"Why?" Ginny asked.

"Because I want to kiss you right now," Draco said, as he then pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply.

They stayed like this for a while.

~*~

It was Christmas now. All was all in the grand halls of Hogwarts. Trees were everywhere in the great hall, holy and missile toe were hung in every corridor of the castle, lights were hung every corner where light usually didn't shine. Just about everywhere you turned your head, Christmas decorations were hung.

Harry still didn't know much about his history as he would have liked to but that didn't mean he wasn't about to give up either. Every chance he got, he'd go to the library and see what he could find, in hopes of discovering the key to his past.

Lily watched her son wander through the path each day that he took Hedwig out for a fly. His face used to be happy and cheery when he'd take those paths. But now, there was a empty cranny in a wall it seemed. Hermione used to take these paths with him at times, now it seemed as if he lost interest in all that was in front of him, just because he was too interested in stuff that happened in the past. Hermione was no longer with Harry. Harry dwelled too much on the past for Hermione's likings.

"Lily, I think you and I both know that it's time that he knows," a deep voice said, as an arm went around her waist.

"I know James, I know," Lily said. "When he gets to the core of the lake, we'll appear to him."

"Not we, Lily," James said. "You won't either."

"James what on earth do you mean?" Lily asked.

"We'll wait until he's in one of his classes, better yet let it be the same place where you received your first vision by your grandmother," James said. "Bet Snape would love that. Seeing the exact same look that was once on your face long ago, and now seeing it on Harry's face next Tuesday."

"James, that's just plain mean!" Lily said. "I'm still going to the core of the lake and appearing to him. And you are too. Just look at him. James look at him."

"I'm looking," James said. "I see our son."

"Does he look like a son we used to know when you'd play peek-a-boo just before you would put him to bed at night? Or when he'd smile at you after you'd feed him or play with him? Or when he'd laugh when he'd throw his baby food back at you in the face, because he thought it was funny? Does he look like the son we once knew to you?" Lily asked, as she took a note to visit memory lane again in the near future.

James didn't answer. Instead he looked at his son, while Lily continued on.

"No, James he doesn't," Lily said. "I remember his first look at us after he was born. He'd come that early Sunday morning. His smile was the greatest though. I remember one day, we were out in the gardens. That bird, Hedwig as he calls her, met us on the terrace. The look in her eyes were as if she knew of the future. It was as she knew she was meant to look after him after we were gone. No matter, what the vision I received from Harry before he was born. It was like a light shining from above, James. The vision was of the future of all five of us together. He'd given me a glimpse of my future. But of course, then Voldemort interrupted our plans."

Lily began to get choked up a little. James noticed and put his arm around her.

"I know Lily," James said. "I know. But now we must do what we are meant to do. And that is to watch over him as much as we can. Trust me sweetheart, he'll be safe. Yes, I know he isn't who we knew when he was a child. I too, also received a vision from him before he was born. I knew we wouldn't be with him much long after his second birthday. But I also knew that I had to make the most of what we had left, the most for him. I couldn't bear to not let him know what any ordinary two -year-old knew. And that was to be a normal baby."

"But he wasn't a normal baby, James," Lily said. "We both knew that."

"I know," James said. "Look, he's at the core of the lake now."

"Ready?" Lily asked. "I don't care what you said about the vision we'll be sending him next Tuesday, he needs us now. Not then. He'll still receive the vision next Tuesday, but for now, he needs us."

"Couldn't have said it better sweetie," James said. "Let's go."

Lily and James got to the core of the lake. Lily and James still held hands while the stood right in front of Harry and slowly began to become visible to Harry to see.

Was his eyes fooling him? Harry thought. There were his parents. This couldn't be happening.

"Son, it's time for you to see your past," James said as he held out a hand for Harry to take.

Harry looked at Hedwig and then back to James.

"Don't worry," Lily said. "She knows what's happening. She'll be ok."

"Mum? Dad?" Harry finally spoke.

"Yes," Lily said. "I'm here. We're here."

"That we are son," James said.

Lily didn't have to ask for her son to come into her arms at that moment. Harry didn't even ask. Harry more like ran into her arms. You could hear the faint sound of tears being made as Lily made shushing sounds towards her baby. James just stood behind Lily, giving her a steady stand as Harry leaned into her, while he cried.

James, he hasn't cried like this since he was a baby, when I died, Lily telepathically said to James.

I know Lily. I was watching. James replied back. It's time Lily.

Ok, let's go. Lily said.

"Son," James said. "Let go of your mother now and take my hand."

"James what are you doing?" Lily asked. "Don't tell me you're going to take him back to see certain things."

"Lily, he'll see what he needs to see," James said and then with a more stern voice he spoke again, "Son. Now."

Harry held onto his mother a moment longer before he let go. He then took a step back away from his mother and then went forward to his father and engulfed him in a hug.

James held onto him as he could hear Harry faintly saying the four words that he used to say when he was a baby. The words were, I love you Daddy. And James would always reply with I love you too, Harry. James then took his son into the past.

AN: sorry, I didn't go into the past with James and Harry. I promise it'll be brought back up again in a future chapter, 10 or 11 probably, maybe. Sorry it took so long to get it to you. I had a case of writer's block, that kept coming back...lol thanks for the reviews
