Chapter 3: Mixture of Different Feelings
They arrived at the Burrow 6 hours later.
"Ron?" Arthur said, trying to wake his sleeping son.
"Harry?"
Neither one stirred.
Guess I'll just have to levitate them upstairs, Arthur thought.
Lily watched from behind as Arthur levitated her son and Ron upstairs.
Molly, of course, argued with Arthur for them to at least wake up and eat something but Arthur insisted that they let them sleep.
"Arthur, come on their growing boys. They need their strength. So, I'd advise you to let them eat," Molly said.
"Molly, I know that but think of the time it is. It's midnight. I don't think they should be awake and eating right now. I'm sorry dear but I'm taking them up to bed," Arthur said, and then went up the stairs with Harry and Ron's bodies floating in front of him.
The next morning, Ron and Harry woke up in a bed instead of in a car.
"Morning Harry," Ron said.
"Morning Ron... What's that smell? It smells good," Harry said.
Ron stopped for a minute and then said, "Oh...that must be Mum cooking breakfast. Let's go."
"In that case, I'll beat you down there," Harry said as he took off, leaving Ron behind.
"Hey! No fair! You got a head start!" Ron yelled after him.
"You snooze, you loose!" Harry said in response.
Harry came to a sudden stop.
Ron ran right into him, not able to slow down enough.
Harry and Ron then went tumbling on the floor.
From a distance, you could hear and feel a large thump as they hit the ground.
"Harry! Ron! What on earth!" Molly exclaimed.
"Ouch!" Ron said rubbing his forehead.
"Ron, did you have to run into me?" Harry asked.
"Boys enough!" a loud voice said that was heard from across the room.
"Sorry Dad," Ron said.
"Breakfast!" a voice bellowed from the kitchen.
"Let's go boys," Arthur said heading towards his seat in the kitchen.
Harry and Ron followed; along with Fred, George, Percy, and Charlie.
About half an hour later....
"Mummy!" a voice called out.
Molly looked towards her daughter, who was at the moment racing down the stairs.
"Ginny, don't run down those stairs again. Got it?" Molly asked sternly.
"Yes Mum," Ginny said.
"Morning sweetheart," Arthur said cheerfully.
"Morning Daddy," Ginny replied.
Ginny looked at the food and said, "Again? Mother, really? This is the third time this week. I don't know about you but I'd say that bacon and eggs, with biscuits and gravy can be quite good but only if you don't wear it out. And you mother have really-
"Ginny," Arthur said, "just sit down and eat. Just be glad your mother cooks for you and not the other way around."
"Yes Daddy," Ginny said and then sat down next to her father.
As she sat down she looked to the other side of the table to see Harry.
"Hello Ginny," Harry said cheerfully.
"Ugh! Too much cheerfulness; sorry everyone but I can't stand it any longer. I'm heading out for a bit of fresh air. And just to warn you: If any of you try to follow me you'll be wanting your death wish to arrive sooner than it should," Ginny said as she got up and walked away.
Harry looked at Ron with awe.
"Ron, what just happened?" Harry asked.
"Ginny turned from a pre-teen to a fifteen-year-old girl with raging hormones," Ron said.
"Ron, don't make our baby sister sound like a lab rat experiment gone wrong," Charlie said. "No Harry. She... well...she has her moments. And Ron please don't make her sound otherwise."
Once they were both finished breakfast, Harry went upstairs to unpack.
"Hey Harry, need any help?" Ron asked entering his room.
"Uh... No thanks Ron. I think I about got it," Harry said.
"Ok," Ron said. "Harry, may I ask you a question?"
"Ron you're my best friend you can ask me anything," Harry said.
"Do you remember anything about your parents? I was thinking about what you said on the way up here in the car earlier and I thought maybe her wedding ring was maybe leading up to something if you remember anything about them," Ron said.
"That's a good theory Ron but no I hardly remember anything about them, except some song that keeps popping into my head once in a while when I'm really tired and about to drift asleep," Harry said.
"Could that mean possibly something?" Ron asked.
"Well, my mum could have sung it to me when I was a baby once I guess but I really don't know," Harry said.
"Well then how else would you remember it?" Ron asked.
"Good point. She probably did. But then the other day, the night before my 16th birthday I had a dream," Harry explained.
"What was the dream about?" Ron asked.
Lily stood behind as she watched Harry tell his dream to Ron. Lily had purposely sent him that dream. She sent it for two reasons: One being, so it would point him on the right track about his past and the past before him. Two, mainly cause she wanted to see him looking for mainly her and James, for personal reasons.
"But Harry, how do you know that, that's going to be true. You aren't a seer. It was just a dream. How could you possibly know that it's true?" Ron asked, after being told of Harry's dream.
"I just do Ron. I can't explain why I believe it's true or going to be true or whatever, but at least I know what I'm after," Harry argued.
1 week later...
"Hermione, I need to know," Harry pleaded, as he looked into her eyes.
"Harry, I don't see why you need them. They're just a bunch of old records. And if it's about your mother's ring and necklace... I highly doubt that there's going to be a record over a ring and a necklace," Hermione answered back.
"Hermione! Please?" Harry pleaded again.
Hermione looked into his eyes. He was desperate, for basically anything about his mother and/or father. She could see it plainly on his face.
"Ok, I'll look for you," Hermione said, giving into the look on his face.
Before Hermione got a chance to say anymore than she had already done, she was engulfed in a pair of arms.
"Thank-you Mione," Harry said. "You're the greatest!"
"Your welcome Harry but-" Hermione started to say but was interrupted.
"Did you have to say that word in your sentence?" Harry asked.
"Don't I always most of the time?" Hermione asked.
"Yeah I guess," Harry said. "So, what's the catch?"
3 days later....
"Did you find anything?" Ron asked.
"No, I told him that there probably wouldn't be anything to go on. I mean, come on... what record would have a necklace and a ring in it?" Hermione asked.
"I know," Ron said. "But Mione, you know how he is right now. He's desperate to find out... What's he trying to find out anyways? I'm not real sure myself."
"Good question. I wish I had the answer to it," Hermione said.
"Do you think he'll find what he's looking for?" Ron asked, several minutes later.
"If he sets his mind to it, he'll find it," Hermione said.
"Hermione, I said do you think he'll find it. Not, the wisdom answer," Ron said.
"Oh alright," Hermione said. "Ok, no I really don't think he will."
"That's what I thought," Ron said. "Now, to make it to where it'd make sense with your first answer then we must try to believe in it too, right?"
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Hermione said.
"Don't guess, it won't help us or Harry," Ron said.
"Ron? Do me a favor?" Hermione said, getting aggravated.
"Anything," Ron answered.
"Shut-up will you? I'm tired and I really don't want to listen to you bossing me around," Hermione said, and then swiftly left the room.
"Dude, what was that about?" a voice said, coming into the room.
"I don't know," Ron answered. "Must be girl hormones. Ginny has em' all the time."
Harry shrugged, "Should we go after her?"
"No man, never go after a girl with hormones. It's a dangerous territory to enter," Ron said.
"Good advice but I'd like to see what's going on. I'm going after her," Harry said.
"Good luck mate," Ron said.
"Thanks, I have a feeling I'll need it," Harry said as he left the room.
~*~*~*~
It had been five minutes already and Harry still couldn't find Hermione. He then saw Ginny coming towards him.
"Ginny!" Harry said.
"Harry, please go away," Ginny said. "I really don't have any time for you today."
"Ginny, if you'd wait just a minute you'd know that I'm not trying to tie up your time," Harry said.
"Well, speak already!" Ginny said, annoyed already from being bumped into by Hermione only five minutes before.
"Do you know where Hermione is?" Harry asked.
"Why should I care?" Ginny replied coldly.
"Ginny, it's a simple question. Do you or don't you?" Harry asked.
"Maybe I know and maybe I don't," Ginny said.
"AHHH!" Harry said out loud. "I don't have time for this damn it!"
"What's the matter? Potter getting annoyed at the girl who knows Lord Voldemort personally? Or would it be because Hermione has gone off to her own place and leaving poor Harry scared half out of his wits?" Ginny teased coldly.
Harry stared at her in awe.
"What cat got your tongue, does it Harry?" Ginny said slyly.
Harry continued to just stare at her with complete shock.
"Are you just going to stare or am I going to have to just walk away from you? Honestly, get a life will you?" Ginny asked, as she took her hands, put them on his shoulders and forcefully moved him to the side.
"By the way, she's out in the gardens," Ginny called out from the door of her room, looking back to Harry, still standing there.
