Chapter One-Hello, Hogwarts!

Hermione ran as fast as she could in the train. How dare she let him get to her! How dare she let him insult her like that! What did he know about her? It wasn't her fault! She was born and raised loving to read books. It's not like she didn't know he was there. She knew perfectly well every single word he had just spoken about her. Of course, Harry would just that he didn't mean a single word of it, but she knew he did. He meant every obscene word about her!

Her eyes started to fill with tears as she ran into a compartment, oblivious to the fact that there was someone in there. She sat down on the seat, and covered her face in her hands while she sobbed.

He looked at her over his book on Dark Arts. Once he saw who it was, he quickly hid it. He cleared his throat, and sneered at Hermione.

"What are you doing here, Mudblood?" he asked in a venomously tone. "Can't you bother to knock or - or tell me off or - or smack me for saying you're really annoying?"

Hermione picked up her head. "Sod off, Malfoy!" she cried. "I'm not in the mood right now for childish games."

Draco looked around, and hoped that no one knew that she was in his compartment. "Speaking of childish games," he said softly. "What are you doing crying? Isn't that for little children?"

Hermione glared at him. "I'm not in the mood now."

Draco nodded. "Oh yeah, sure, whatever. Well, let me just say that if you're to be in here, I'd like you to not cry so loudly, and let me get on with my reading."

He uncovered his Dark Arts book, and began to read.

Hermione looked at the book with awe. He would read that book in front of her?

"Malfoy?" she asked. AS soon as he glanced at her over the book, she sighed. "What's so interesting in the Dark Arts, anyway?"

Malfoy set the book down next to him. "Lots," he said admirably. He then glared at her. "Why do you want to know? Miss Head Girl?"

Hermione shrugged. Actually, she'd love a good bad curse or hex to use on Ron at the moment. "I just want to know what's so interesting in it, that's all."

Draco shook his head. "You're scaring me," he said in a terrified tone.

Hermione smiled knowingly at him. "Do you know any good hexes or curses? You know, ones that I can actually use to permanently damage a certain someone?"

Draco rolled his eyes. Why was he wasting his time with her? But, more questionable, why did she want to know the Dark Arts?

"Why? Who is this certain someone? It isn't me, is it?"

Hermione shook her head, crossed her arms over her chest, and huffed. Ron is such an arrogant bastard! She would love to use a life-damaging curse on him. Never had she felt this way about him before, but this time, he went over the edge with the book teasing.

"So? Who is it?" he asked again.

"Ron," she mumbled.

"Weasel?" he asked, risking having his head bitten off by her. To his surprise, she just simply nodded.

"I think you actually have a meaning with that name," she said angrily. "He certainly is a weasel in human's clothing!"

Draco gaped at her. Did she just call Ron Weasley a weasel? He thought he just found the girl of his dreams. No! That's going over the edge. Just a girl that he's starting to not hate anymore.

"You really want to know a hex or curse?" he asked. Hermione seemed to brighten up at the suggestion.

"Would you teach me one?" she asked hopefully. She edged to the edge of her seat. "A life damaging one?"

Draco laughed. "Are you kidding? I know more life damaging hexes than anything! Are you going after Potter as well?"

Hermione bit her lip and shook her head. "Why would I want to hex Harry?"

Draco shrugged. "Just because he's Weasel's best friend, and because he'll eventually join his side against you, you should know that. Get him before he has a chance to go against you, so he gets humiliated before you."

Hermione looked out the window. Did she really want to hurt Harry? Although, she knew Draco had a point, she just couldn't bring herself to humiliate him. Maybe Draco was right, and she should just get Harry before he got her for revenge for getting Ron? She sighed hopelessly. She turned back to Draco, and smiled.

"Why not?" she said, shrugging her shoulders. After all, this could be year could more fun than she thought.

Harry looked over at Ron. "Have you seen Hermione?" he asked.

Ron shrugged. "She went to go change into her robes," he said. "About half an hour ago."

Harry sighed. "You think we should go look for her?" he asked, standing up. Ron nodded, and followed Harry out the compartment door, unaware of what he said about Hermione the reason why they were about to find her having a one on one conversation with her most hated enemy.

"And this one will turn his face purple. It'll go away after about a month or two, and then the purple will have stained his face, causing the light purple tint to his face for the rest of his life," Draco explained, showing Hermione a picture in his Dark Arts book. "It's great, and it makes you want to call the person 'Grape'."

Hermione smiled widely at the thought of a purple face to go with Ron's red hair. She had a disgusted look on her face, and decided that, since red and purple didn't go together, to choose something else.

Draco nodded, and turned the page. "This one will give him a couple extra fingers and webbed hands and feet."

Hermione laughed at that one. She could have imagined Ron with webbed hands and feet, and more than the usual ten fingers.

Draco turned the page. "And this one-"

"HERMIONE!" Ron yelled as he and Harry entered the compartment, Ron's face red. Hermione turned her head to one side, and narrowed her eyes in thought.

"Though, red and red doesn't go good together either," Hermione said to Draco.

Draco nodded.

"What are you doing in here?" Ron yelled again. Hermione glared at him. "Why are you talking with him?" he said, pointing at Draco.

Hermione stood up. "Well, excuse me for being a snobby bookworm who can't do anything in her life except for read!" she shouted. She fought the urge to smile in victory as she saw his face blush furiously. "And another thing, Weasel, I don't appreciate it when my friends are talking shit behind my back! Do you two do this for fun?"

Draco stood up as Harry's face blushed as well. He took out his wand. "You want a sample of the purple red?" he asked Hermione, pointing his wand at Ron. Hermione nodded, and Draco smirked. "She's with a new crowd now. Change Violet!" he shouted. Change Violet is pronounced with a French accent for just a sample, pure English accent for permanent.

Hermione bit her bottom lip, trying not to laugh as Ron's frightened face turned purple. Draco held his hand over his mouth, and snickered.

Ron looked at Harry, who had a frightened look plastered on his face. He looked back at Hermione and Draco as they couldn't hold in their laughter anymore. The purple cracked off, and left a tinted color of a soft violet. Ron wiped his hand on his face, and nearly screamed in horror as he saw purple substance on his hands. He turned around and stormed out.

Harry looked at Hermione, frightened by her now. He watched as her curls bounced as she gasped for breath and held onto Draco so she couldn't fall over. They were both still laughing. What happened to her? Why was she laughing with Malfoy? Harry didn't want to stay and find out. He left, closing the compartment door behind him.

Hermione and Draco both collapsed on the seats, gasping for breath.

"I never seen anything so funny!" Hermione breathed. "I think I was wrong about the purple and red."

Draco nodded his agreement. He smirked and threw the book to her. She caught it and stopped laughing, looking at it and him questioningly. Draco nodded. "Keep it," he said. The only way to truly hurt Potter for placing his father in Azkaban: use Potter's friends to go against him. It was called the perfect plan. "I have plenty. You shouldn't doubt that."

Hermione nodded her thanks to Draco. He really was someone else when you got to know him. She actually thought him to be charming and someone actually worth hanging out with. Maybe he was right, what he said to Ron. Maybe this year was going to be exciting after all? She guessed that she truly is running with a new crowd. Only problem was, he was in Slytherin, she was in Gryffindor. No Gryffindors she knew like Malfoy in the friend type. She was now glad that she and Malfoy were Head Girl and Boy.

The train stopped, and Hermione and Draco filed off the train, given weird looks of the sort from the other students. They walked around the carriages, and finally found an empty one.

Draco looked at her. "So, you're one of us now?"

Hermione shrugged. "Who's 'us'?"

"Us high class pureblooded wizards. Also known as the Slytherins."

"Well, it's kind of hard for me to be a high class pureblooded wizard also know as a Slytherin. I'm not high class, I'm definitely not pureblooded which you so kindly have reminded me about for five or six years, and I'm not a Slytherin."

Draco smirked. "Well, if you're one of us, then maybe you can fulfill the high class part?"

Hermione sighed, and smiled. "Maybe."

She looked out the window, and she felt something, she didn't know what. She never felt it before as she gazed upon the castle. The carriage stopped, and they got out, Hermione doing a swirl, and Draco grabbing her hand and twirling her as well.

"What's new mighty Hogwarts?" Hermione sang, and Draco twirled her. "I'm new! I wanna say I'm just a little stuck on you. You'll be on me too!"

They entered the castle, Blaise and Pansy giving her dirty looks.

"I get out here, mighty Hogwarts!" Hermione sang. "Stand back!" she sang to Pansy and Blaise, they looked at her with wide eyes, and quickly made their way into the Great Hall. "You wanna know what'cha gonna get in me? Just a little touch of Head Girl quality."

She took Draco's arm, and they entered the Great Hall, Harry and Ron rolling their eyes, and the Slytherins looking at her with much distaste. Draco led Hermione around the hall. They ran, and twirled.

"Fill me up with your heat, with your noise, with your dirt, overdo me! Let me dance to your beat, make it loud, let it hurt, run it through me! Don't hold back you are certain to impress." To Draco, "Tell the driver this is where I'm staying."

They stopped in front of the Staff Table, and faced all the students looking at them with awe. Some of the students stood up and started dancing around their tables.

"Hello, mighty Hogwarts!" Hermione sang. Draco ran to the Slytherin table, and began whispering to his friends. He nodded to Hermione, and smiled. "Get this! Just look at me, dressed up somewhere to go, we'll put on a show."

She jumped down, and ran to Draco. "Take me in at your flood, give me speed, give me lights, set me humming!"

The Slytherins all went, "Hum, hum, hum, hum!"

"Shoot me up with you blood, wine me up with your nights, watch me coming! All I want is a whole lot excess, tell the singer this where I'm playing."

Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle picked her up into the air. Many other students began dancing around them.

"And if ever I go to far, it's because of the things you are, beautiful school, I love you! And if I need a moments rest, give your lover the very best, real eiderdown, and silence!"

The three boys let her down, and the students danced around them and the three of them began dancing as well, Harry and Ron giving them dirty looks, Pansy bobbing her head to the beat of the song, and Blaise was clapping.

Hermione ran around the house tables once again. "You're a tramp, you're a treat, you will shine to the death, you are shoddy. But you're flesh, you are meat, you shall have every breath in my body! Put me down for a whole year of success, give me credit, I'll find ways of paying."

She got to her house table, and stood up on it, as did all the other students to their house table. The students began promenading on the tables as Hermione sang while dancing in one place.

"Stand back, mighty Hogwarts! Because you outta know what'cha gonna get in me. Just a little touch of, just a little touch of, just a little touch of Head Girl quality."
