Author's Note:
I dedicate this story to my beta reader. Also my sister for puting up with my raballings when she is trying to sleep. Thanks!

He was standing in a dark field surrounded by trees. He could just make out the shapes of three people standing around in a circle. One man was short and bald and kept wringing his hands in a nervous way. He seemed oddly familiar to him. The other was normal sized man, dressed in a black cloak and standing very tall, with a big nose. He was very familiar, and, like the other man, wore a mask. He spoke in a whisper, and the person watching had to move in closer to hear what he was saying.

"I have come back, my Lord. I am your proud spy and worthy Death Eater. I never really went to that Muggle- loving Dumbledore's side. He caught me spying, and I was forced to turn spy to him. He forced me to take Veritisium and found out everything. I will be more careful from now on. I wait on your command to act and help against any attack in Hogwarts. Dumbledore thinks that he can trust me, but I will lead him in the wrong direction. Your attacks will be complete, and you will get what you most desire. Potter is yours for the asking. I am your most humble and helpful servant." The tall man then bowed and kissed his master's hand.

The man he was talking to smiled at him. He had red that gave off an evil glint. He was tall and looked quite strong. He turned to the short man and mused, "Wormtail, should I forgive this man? I know he was a traitor to Dumbledore, but could he have been acting as he says he was under Veritisium?" He laughed, suddenly. " Well, my most helpful servant, I have the answer. Don't bother answering my question and wasting what little brainpower you have. I will give this man another chance and let him join my Death Eaters again under one condition. I am going to send you with him to Hogwarts, Wormtail. You can stay as a rat and make sure he does not betray me again. Every Friday you will return to me and report what he has discovered."

"But master," the short man groveled on the floor, " Harry Potter and his friends will recognize me. Please, my Lord, there must be some other way. Dumbledore will recognize me too and I will be caught. I beg you, my Lord, to reconsider. It will not be good that your most helpful servant, who brought you back from the dead, be caught and sent to Azkaban."

"Wormtail, the resolution is quite simple. You will just stay out of Gryffindor tower unless I tell you otherwise. Hide well, my filthy servant, when in Dumbledore's presence. No one needs to know you are there. This plan will give me the one thing I want and one of three people that stands in my way of total domination: Harry Potter." He paused for a breath. "Only one more thing before we go," he said as he turned to the tall man. "Crucio," he laughed cruelly as the man withered in pain.

*****************************

Harry woke up sweating bullets. He could never get a good night's sleep now without being woken up by some dream. This one, however, looked as if it really happened. He got out of his bed and turned on the light. Hedwig was gone and wouldn't be back until the morning. He lifted the loose floorboard under his bed and pulled out a quill and a few pieces of parchment. He thought for a moment about who to write to first, but almost immediately settled upon Dumbledore.

Dumbledore had asked him to write about any dreams he thought might be real, and Harry was quite sure that this one was. He didn't know where the people were, but he did know who they were and what they were talking about.

One of the people was Voldermort, the wizard who had tried to kill Harry when he was only a baby. Voldermort was once the most feared wizard in the world. He had killed many Muggles and wanted to rid the earth of anyone who liked, loved or was one. While he did succeed in killing Harry's parents, his rampage was ended when he tried to do the same with Harry. It was a mystery how Harry had survived, and no one really knew why or how it had happened.

The short, bald man was once a good friend of Harry's father in school. Afterwards, however, he turned to the Dark Side and handed James Potter and his family over to Voldermort. He had also helped bring Voldermort back to power the previous year, and, though rather unintelligent and weak, was Voldermort's most faithful servant.

As for the third man, Harry believed it was his potions teacher, Severus Snape. He hated Harry and was once a Death Eater, but eventually became a spy for Dumbledore. Harry never really understood why Dumbledore trusted Snape. He was mean and nasty, but once Voldermort rose again, Snape was sent on a secret mission. Harry didn't know where he went, but he could guess from the dream that Snape had once again become a spy for Dumbledore.

However, this couldn't happen now because Wormtail was watching Snape and would tell Voldermort if he suspected anything. This, very obviously, was very bad news. Harry knew he had to write Dumbledore immediately to tell him Voldermort's plans before it was too late. It was clear that Voldemort was planning on invading Hogwarts somehow. Harry dipped his quill in the ink and hurriedly began writing his letter.

Dear Professor Dumbledore,

I am writing about a dream that I just had that worries me greatly. In it, Professor Snape was talking to Voldermort and pledging his allegiance to him. While Voldermort accepted, he also said that he was going to send Wormtail with Snape to make sure he didn't double-cross him. Snape can't tell you the truth about what Voldermort is saying to him now. He is going to have to lie to make sure Wormtail doesn't suspect anything.

According to my dream, it sounds as if Voldermort is planning on attacking Hogwarts. I don't know when it's going to happen, but you need to do something to protect the school immediately. Voldermort also said he was looking for two other people as well. Do you have any idea who they may be?

Harry

P.S I hope you and Fawkes are all right.

Harry had just finished when Hedwig flew into the room followed by the hyperactive Pig and two owls Harry didn't recognize. They were all carrying something and it was at this moment when Harry realized it was his birthday.

He had completely forgotten that he was turning fifteen. It wouldn't matter to anyone else at Privet Drive but to his friends (and obviously, himself) it meant a lot. He happily watched as the owls landed on his bed and began promptly eating owl treats.

He walked over to them and grabbed Hedwig, gently untying the package from her leg. The letter was from Hermione.

Dear Harry,

Happy Birthday. I thought you might need some cheering up after spending the whole summer with the Dursleys. I thought you might like to get a head start studying, so I bought this for you. I think Ron is trying to get you to go to his house again. Well, anyway, I hope you like your present and your vacation is going well! I'll see you soon.

Love,

Hermione

Harry opened the package and saw it was a book and a box of chocolates. The book was "Studying to get a Perfect Score on your O.W.L's." He laughed. It was just like Hermione to fuss about the O.W.L's and even give him a book about it. He started to eat the chocolates, which were incredibly good, as he read the letter that Ron had sent him.

Dear Harry,

Hope the Muggles aren't killing you. I sent a small gift, but that isn't the best part of it. The good news is that at 1:00 p.m., Fred, and George and I are going to be at your house using Floo powder. Mum is going to be so happy to see you she won't even be mad. (In fact, she's been so worried about you it's making me sick.) When I got home, they gave me a lecture on how I have to be extra careful now that Voldermort is out. Like we go looking for trouble. Anyway, then they made me tell them all about Sirius and Wormtail. Mum and Dad feel so bad for him now. They want to meet him. I mean, I'm constantly getting questioned about stuff I never told them I'd done, and then they yell at me. It's only a couple of years late, you know. Oh well. I think I've complained enough. See you soon!

Ron

Harry smiled at the thought of leaving the Dursleys, and then opened the gift. It was a book on all the different moves in Quidditch, including play-by-play breakdowns in pictures. "Wow." Harry thought to himself, impressed. He never knew a book like this existed and decided that he'd have to get Ron an especially good birthday present that year. Then, he opened his letter from Sirius.

Dear Harry,

Happy Birthday. Ron invited me to the Weasley's today and I think I will go. He says his parents are dying to meet me. I wouldn't mind seeing you again anyway. I just hope that everything works out well. Anyway, Happy 15th Birthday and I hope you like the present! It will come in handy, I think.

Sirius.

Harry opened the gift. It was a small mirror Harry recognized as a type of Dark Deflector that allowed a person to see his or her enemies coming. It was just like Sirius to give him something like that. Sirius was always worried that Harry was going to be attacked.

He put the mirror aside and looked at the last letter. It was very sloppy and came with a small, gluey cake. He put it to the side and decided he would give that to Dudley. Harry obviously knew enough not to eat it, and it would be funny to see Dudley's jaw get stuck together.

Dear Harry,

Hope the Muggles aren't driving ye nuts. I sent the cake and I hope you like it. Madam Maxime is going to visit a lot during the year. We have some work to do. Maybe Dumbledore will let me tell you what it is, and you can help us. Well, Happy Birthday and I hope to see ya soon.

Hagrid

Harry smiled at the letter. He had good friends, and soon he would be leaving the Dursley's horrible house for another year. As he thought this, he heard his aunt scream for him to get downstairs. He slowly went down, after sending the letter to Dumbledore and hiding his stuff under the floorboard. When he got to the kitchen, his aunt was making breakfast, and Dudley was eating what she had already made. "Hurry up and make some more breakfast, then clean the backyard, water the plants, make lunch and finish painting the fence."

Harry smiled at her. "Yes Aunt Petunia," he said, "But I wanted to tell you that I'm leaving at 1:00. My friend Ron is coming to get me, and I don't expect to come back till next year."

"As long as you finish your chores and keep those people away from my Dudders I don't care," she replied. "Now hurry up." She continued to mumble about weirdoes and lazy people who didn't pull their weight, but Harry didn't care. In a few more hours, he wouldn't have to hear her annoying voice for another year.

He rushed around the house doing his chores and counting down minutes until he was done. While he was painting the fence Dudley came out with an evil grin on his face. "I know what day it is," he taunted. "It's your birthday and your friends forgot about you again. Some friends."

"They didn't forget about me I got my stuff from them this morning. So you can go jump off a bridge Dudley."

"I think you're lying. I didn't see any presents coming in."

"That, Dudley, is because I will get in trouble if Aunt Petunia knows what I have in my room. You don't want to grow a tail again do you?"

"Show me your stuff and I won't tell my mum. Not that she'd care as long as you keep your things to yourself. She wants you to have it. I mean, she hopes maybe you'll blow yourself up and we'll be rid of you forever."
"It's not like I love it here, Dudley," Harry said quietly, his nerves straining with each sentence his cousin uttered.

"Poor Harry doesn't have anyone that cares if he is dead or alive in this world, wizard or not. Why don't you just die? No one would notice. I bet your parents were losers in the wizard world as well and had no friends."

Harry groaned angrily. "Fine Dudley," he said. "I'll show you my stuff. I can't believe I need to prove this to you. You don't know how many people would miss me in the wizarding world. My parents were two of the most respected people around."

Harry walked into his room with Dudley at his heels. "Turn around Dudley, I need to get my stuff." Dudley turned around and Harry pulled his things out from under the floorboard.

He took out some textbooks, the Quidditch book Ron had gotten him, the Firebolt, Hermione's book on the O.W.L's, the different chocolates he had, and the invisibility cloak. "Here Dudley. Is this enough proof for you? I can't believe you didn't think I had friends."

"Is this all you got, Harry? I can't even see the point of this stuff an old cloak some books and candy. I mean what's Quidditch and what kind of loser carries a broom around with him? Other then you, I mean."

"Dudley, you're so stupid! Quidditch is a game you play on flying broomsticks. This is a flying broomstick and that candy is like nothing you have ever tasted, and the cloak makes you invisible. Look." Harry threw the cloak on and heard Dudley gasp. When he took it off, Dudley had shaken the shock off his face.

"Well Harry, that's still not a lot of stuff. You must have only one or two friends. Huh. I have at least 15. My god, you're a loser."

Harry sighed and pulled out his Dark Deflector. He didn't really want to show Dudley this, but he was starting to get under his skin.

"Oh my god, it's a mirror with a guy! That's some gift Harry" Dudley smirked sarcastically.

"Someone's in it. Oh no. Dudley, this to show your enemies coming toward you. Someone is coming." Harry turned it toward him and saw two cloaked men walking and getting clearer and clearer as time went on. He quickly turned and looked at the clock. It was 12:58. He immediately ran down the stairs after hurriedly tossing his possessions in his trunk. He stood in the living room and stared at the Mirror. As the images sharpened, he became sure that the two people walking were Voldermort and Lucius Malfoy. He looked out the window and saw them coming around the corner. He turned around in a confused circle, trying to think.

Just then, Ron popped out of the Fireplace and was quickly followed by Fred and George. "Harry, how are you?" Ron asked. Before he allowed Harry to answer, he quickly said, "We've got to go because Mom is making dinner already. We can talk more later. Come on. She can't wait to talk to you; she's been so worried. All she does is agonize about you all day. Like I said, it's really getting under my skin."

"Ron, I need to talk to you for a minute." Ron walked toward Harry, looking very confused. Harry whispered very quietly to him, "Voldermort and Lucius Malfoy are walking toward my house. We have to go. NOW."

"You-Know-Who is coming here? Now? Oh no..." Ron's ears turned red and he seemed to be stuck on the spot.

Harry turned quickly toward Fred and George and told them to take his stuff and go. As they disappeared, Harry heard a knock on the door. As Aunt Petunia opened it, he heard the familiar voice. Aunt Petunia was quickly stunned, and Voldermort walked into the house. "Ron, he's in the house and you have got to go. Hurry up!" Ron didn't budge. He just kept staring as Harry pushed him toward the fire. "Ron, snap out of it! If you don't leave, you're going to cost both of us our lives."
