Chapter 3- It's One Crazy Love Story!

Draco was fuming, how dare Weasley humiliate him like that. His blood boiled and he felt like kicking her.

He ate his dinner alone and immediately went to his common room. The rest of the Slytherins left him alone because they knew what a temper he had.

He started on his homework, but couldn't concentrate.

"Mr. Malfoy," said someone.

Draco looked up and brushed aside the lock of hair over his eye. Professor Snape was standing before him.

Draco stood up and said, "Yes, professor?"

"The headmaster wishes to see you," said Snape.

Draco nodded and followed Snape to the Headmaster's office.

He had no idea what he had done now; the posters hadn't been his fault. If anyone should be on their way to the headmaster's office, it should be Weasley.

Draco entered the office and found the headmaster sitting at his desk facing him.

"Sit," he said.

Draco sat down and looked at Professor Dumbledore expectantly.

"Mr. Malfoy, your father died in Azkaban last night," he said.

Draco wasn't sure he heard properly, "I beg your pardon?"

"Lucius Malfoy died last night in Azkaban," he repeated.

Draco went numb. His father was dead?

He didn't say anything, just continued to look at the headmaster.

"Your mother has requested that you come home for the rest of the weekend," he said. "She tells me you have no choice. You will leave in a half hour, with your belongings through the Floo Network."

Draco nodded and left the office. He went and got his things and on his way downstairs, he saw Weasley and her friends.

He felt like slapping her, but he had no time for insulting her now, so he just shot her a venomous look across the hall.

Ginny saw Draco Malfoy heading to the headmaster's office. She was still shaken up by what had happened at dinner. She didn't know what would've happened to her if Sam and the others hadn't shown up.

She was so deep in thought that she didn't even notice the look that Draco Malfoy gave her. If looks could kill, her heart would've stopped beating.

Malfoy went to the headmaster's office.

Professor Dumbledore handed him some Floo powder and he yelled, "Malfoy Manor!" into the flames and he was gone.

Draco travelled through the flames to his own fireplace.

His mother stood before him, waiting for him to arrive.

Narcissa Black Malfoy was very beautiful and many people complimented her to Lucius. She was thin and tall with good posture. She had slender fingers and legs. She had small blue eyes, a long nose and slender pink lips. Her white blond hair went to her shoulder but she had tied it back in a bun today.

Everything about Draco's mother was slender and beautiful. People told her she looked like a muggle model, because she was so pretty.

Her husband had just died, but she stood tall and proud like a true Malfoy, with no tears upon her face.

"Hello, mother," greeted Draco.

"Hello, dear," she said.

The Malfoys were known to be cool and collected of the their emotions. Her husband and his father had just died, and they didn't embrace one another or even express words of sorrow.

"Bertha," called Mrs. Malfoy. "Take Draco's things to his room."

A house elf appeared and dragged his things to his room.

"Come, Draco," said his mother.

He followed her to the dining room where a meal awaited him.

"Eat something," she said.

"I just came from dinner, mother," he said.

She nodded and with a flick of her wand the food was gone.

"Sit down, we need to talk," she said.

He sat down in his seat and his mother took the seat opposite him.

"Your father died this morning, Draco," she started. "No one knows why or how. He was quite upset about the wedding being cancelled, but he wasn't that upset that he would die."

"The funeral is to be held tomorrow morning," she continued. "I have spoken to Professor Dumbledore in allowing you to stay for the funeral. Right after that, you can return to classes, all right?"

Draco nodded absently.

"What's wrong, Draco?" his mother asked him. "I would think you would be more upset about your father's death than this."

Draco shrugged, "I have a lot on my mind."

"Like what?" she asked.

Draco hesitated; he didn't know why he was telling her this. They were a very private family; they didn't discuss problems.

"Well, the Weasley's daughter humiliated me today," he said and he explained the whole thing.

His mother listened intently and at the end, she said, "This is a problem. You should do something to her, so her family comes to our feet begging us to save her."

They thought for a few seconds and then she smiled her snakelike smile and said, "I have it. You'll fall in love with her."

"What?!" said Draco. "How is that supposed to humiliate her?"

"You'll only pretend to fall in love with her," she said. "You'll make her fall in love with you so that her family, namely her brothers will come running to our feet begging us for help."

Draco thought for a few minutes. He smirked; he remembered how Weasley started squirming when he got too close to her. This could be good.

"I like it," he says.

"All right," she said. "Then this is what you do..."

*~*~*

Draco returned to Hogwarts the next day at lunch, anticipating the plan.

He went to the Dining Hall and ate his lunch quickly. He watched Ginny out of the corner of his eye.

She suddenly got up, alone, and he got up as well, and got ready to follow her.

The plan called for him following her for a few days and then talk to her.

He walked swiftly behind her and followed her to the Library. God, she was just like Granger, going to the library.

Over the next few days, Draco followed her everywhere and saw everything she did.

She had a schedule and she always followed it. Every morning, promptly at seven thirty she would go to the Great Hall and eat her breakfast in peace, without her friends. After eating, she would wait for her friends and then talk to them while they ate.

Then, she would go to classes with her friends and at lunch, she would eat quickly and then with Granger, would go to the Library to study for exams.

Draco would usually be hiding behind some shelves, and hear his name a few times.

The only thing Ginny said was how much she hated him and how she lost to him in Quidditch.

Draco noticed that the nearer exams got, the lonelier she got. She had abandoned her friends to study in the library with Granger, one of her best friends.

Draco still saw her hanging out with her friends, but only after classes, as her friends were in different houses and years.

After classes in the afternoon, she would go to her common room and do her homework. Then she would be seen hanging out with her friends and with Potter, her brother and Granger.

After a week of following her, Draco decided it was time to make his first move.

She was leaving the library one Saturday, while Draco waited for her in the shadows of a statue.

As she walked by, Draco grabbed her hand and led her to him. She opened her mouth to scream but he put his hand over her mouth.

Ginny had been in the library studying for her exams and was leaving when suddenly someone grabbed her and took her behind a shadow.

She opened her mouth to scream but they out a hand over her mouth.

"Hey Ginny," the person said.

Ginny groaned and tried to bite Draco's hand.

"What the..." she tried to say, but he out his hand over her mouth again.

"Shhh," he whispered. "I need to talk to you."

Ginny waited and struggled with her wand.

"Why do you hate me, Ginny?" he asked. "Our families hate each other, but why do we have to?"

Ginny struggled and mumbled something. She sure was feisty, thought Draco.

"Sorry what was that?" he asked.

She bit his hand and said, "I said, if you have your hand over my mouth how the hell am I supposed to answer you?"

He smirked, but was glad she couldn't see it. "Right, so?"

"I hate you because you do this to me," she said, struggling to wiggle her hand out of his grasp, but it was too hard. He was too strong.

"Tell me the truth," he whispered into her ear.

Ginny started to panic. She had no idea what was going on and she couldn't breathe in the tight space either. She was scared to death and started to scream.

She stepped on his toe and got away. She ran really fast, checking whether Malfoy was behind her, but he never came.

She ran to her common room and breathed safely only when the portrait was closed.

"What happened, Ginny?" asked her brother Ron.

Ginny gasped for air and said, "Nothing....I was just racing Sam..."

Ron gave her a weird look and continued studying with Harry.

Hermione looked up from the book she was reading, with an eyebrow raised.

Ginny shook her head and ran to her room. She collapsed on her bed and thought.

She was confused as to what had just happened. Draco Malfoy hated her, then why had he asked why they hated each other. He had also grabbed her hand and pulled him into the shadows with him, uncomfortably close.

The last time she had been so close to a guy had been in her fourth year, with Dean Thomas, her last boyfriend. Since he cheated on her, she had been over with dating guys of Hogwarts.

Then why had Malfoy held her so close to him and refused to let go of her? Ginny's head hurt and spun with questions.

She screamed in rage and threw her lamp to the floor. She cried with frustration and felt asleep.
