Lost Love Found
Prologue
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then-- in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life-- was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
Remus Lupin rested his head on the window observing thoughtfully the magnificent view outside. The sky was turning purple with tinges of orange and red as the sun dipped behind the mountains yielding to the moon and the shadows of the night. Remus turned his head to look at the suitcase resting on his bed. He was ready to go back to Hogwarts: one of the few places in which he had ever been happy. Hogwarts was the place where he had met his best friends and the love of his life. Now that he was going back there once more his heart was filled with anticipation. He had the strange feeling that something big was going to happen to him this year...
Chapter 1: The Letter
Morning light bathed the whole city of Barcelona. The streets were starting to fill with people rushing to work as many of the little shops around the main plaza were opening its doors. A few blocks away, in a big mansion, golden rays of sunlight had now completely flooded Adrian's room. Adrian woke up and stretched lazily on his bed. He was about to get up when he heard a tapping on his window. He jumped to his feet and headed up to the window. Yawning, he threw it open to let in a beautiful brown owl.
"Mail for me?" He said, untying a yellowish envelope from the owl's leg. He opened the envelope and took out a piece of parchment that read:
HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY
Dear Mr. Franco:
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted as a transfer student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will be beginning as a fifth year student. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall.
Adrian reread the letter twice. He didn't understand. He had attended Spain's Escuela Para Brujas y Hechiceros (School for Witches and Wizards) for the past four years, what did they mean that he had been accepted as a transfer student at Hogwarts? He double-checked the address and, indeed, it was addressed to: Mr. Adrian Franco, Calle de la Fortuna #1537, Barcelona, Spain.
He grabbed the letter and ran two doors down the hall yelling, "Mom, mom, are you awake?"
"I am now. Come in."
Adrian opened the door and looked inside. A beautiful woman with long blond hair and big blue eyes was sitting on her bed with open arms. He entered the room briskly and crawled on to the bed next to her. She hugged Adrian and said, "Good morning dear. "What is going on?"
"Good morning, mom. An owl just brought this," he said showing the letter to his mother.
She took the letter from Adrian's hands and read it. "And?" she said handing the letter back to Adrian.
"What do you mean 'and'? I don't understand."
"Well, it's very clear isn't it? You are going to Hogwarts next term," she smiled.
"But why?"
"Because I have been offered a very important post at the Ministry of Magic in London and I don't want to leave your mother and you here by yourselves," said a tall, older man who was standing in the doorway.
Adrian turned to face his grandfather. "So we are moving to the UK grandpa?"
"Yes, we are. In fact, we are moving this week because the term at Hogwarts is about to start and I don't want you to miss any classes. Well, what do you think?"
"I don't know grandpa. This has been so sudden. I am surely going to miss my friends," answered Adrian looking at the letter in his hands.
Two days later, Adrian and his mother were in his room packing the last of Adrian's things. Adrian picked up the Hogwarts letter from his night table and put it in his leather suitcase. He was about to close the suitcase when he looked at the address printed on the envelope. The letter was addressed to Adrian Franco. "Franco? Why not Andrews?" thought Adrian. Before he could stop himself the question he had been aching to ask his mother blurted out of his mouth.
"Mom, how come we have grandpa's last name?"
Adrian's mother was taken aback by Adrian's question. "Why do you want to know that?"
Adrian felt a rush of anger and frustration crawling its way to his head. "Don't tell me, is another secret. Just like anything else that has to do with my father," spat Adrian, his mother nervously staring at him. "Why don't you ever tell me anything about him?"
"What do you want to know? He was a great man, I loved him with all my heart and he died before you were born," she said fighting back the tears that were trying to escape her eyes.
"Then, why did you keep your maiden name? Why don't we use his last name instead of grandpa's?" pressed Adrian.
Adrian's mother was staring at the floor, wringing her hands together. She looked up and snapped, "Because he is dead. Is that all you want to know? Are you happy now?"
"Yeah, sure, whatever," yelled Adrian storming out of the room. He was so angry that he didn't even notice his grandpa standing just outside the door.
Clara sat down on the broad windowsill her knees folded in between her arms. She felt real bad for her son. She knew how frustrated he felt for not knowing much about his father, but she just couldn't talk about him. It was too painful. The wound in her heart was still open, even though fifteen years had passed already. Clara's mind was lost in sorrowful memories when she was suddenly startled by her father's voice.
"Are you ever going to tell him the truth Clara?" asked Adrian's grandpa just after Adrian had left the room.
"What for?" answered Clara without taking her eyes off the window that showed a very busy street with cars and people going up and down swiftly.
"He has the right to know that his father is alive."
"He also has the right to know that his father kicked us out of his life?" spat Clara, her eyes full of resentment and grief.
"He didn't know you were pregnant. In fact, he still doesn't know he has a son."
Clara got up and turned to face her father looking at him in disbelief. "If he thought our marriage wasn't working out and he wanted me out of his life, obviously he wouldn't want his son either, would he?"
"I don't know. You never gave him a chance." He took a step closer to his daughter and put a hand on her shoulder. With a pleading glance he said, "Clara, you have to tell him."
"No! Please dad, I already accepted to go back to London. Please, don't ask me to do more than that."
"Fine, if that's what you want. But I still think that it isn't fair that you keep Adrian away from his father."
Mr. Franco left the room to go look for Adrian and he found him leaning against a wall in the backyard, just outside the garden.
Adrian was still seething from his recent argument with his mother. He couldn't understand why his mother never wanted to talk about his father. All he knew about him was that his name was Anthony Andrews, that he had been a "great man" and a "marvelous wizard" (according to his mom), and that he was dead. But that wasn't enough; he wanted to know everything about him.
"What's going on short man?" asked Mr. Franco leaning against the wall too. Adrian just shook his head, so Mr. Franco continued, "I heard you and your mother arguing."
"Oh, you were there. Why doesn't she ever tell me nothing about my father?" said Adrian through gritted teeth.
Mr. Franco put his left hand on Adrian's shoulder while his right hand rested on the silver handle of his mahogany cane. "It's very painful for her to talk about him."
Adrian looked up at his grandfather with watery eyes. "Why don't you tell me about him? You knew him right?"
"Yes I knew him and I liked him very much but I'm not the right person to tell you about him."
Adrian scowled while Mr. Franco walked into the garden, his favorite spot in the house. It wasn't hard to see why it was his favorite spot. It was a luscious garden surrounded by ivy-covered walls. Rose bushes ran all around it while lilies, daffodils, and tulips were superbly arranged in intricate patterns around a cherub marble fountain. There were also a couple of exquisitely carved marble benches situated around the fountain. Mr. Franco sighed heavily while he sat down on one of the benches, both hands resting on his cane.
"Adrian, try to understand your mother. I am sure that one of these days you are going to find out everything about your father," said Mr. Franco soothingly without turning to look at Adrian.
Adrian walked over to the marble bench and sat down next to his grandpa. Adrian let out a deep breath, which meant that he was finally calming down and letting go of his grudge. He decided it was better to change the subject so he said, "I'm nervous about going to Hogwarts. "
"You have nothing to worry about. Hogwarts is a great school and I'm sure you'll like it."
"I hope." Adrian bent down to pick up a twig. He began scribbling on the wet soil of the garden when suddenly he remembered something. "Say grandpa, that post they offered you in London, isn't it the same one you turned down a few months ago because you said you were very happy here in Spain?"
"Yes it is indeed."
"Then why did you change your mind so suddenly?"
"Because I received a letter from my friend Dumbledore saying that he needed my help."
"Your help for what?"
"To defeat Voldemort."
Adrian's stomach dropped and the twig fell off his hands. He looked up at his grandpa and asked, "He's back?"
"Yes, and since Mr. Fudge, the Minister of Magic, doesn't believe that he has come back Dumbledore has decided to take up the fight against Voldemort himself. That's why he needs all the supporters he can get."
Adrian was very worried by this new turn of events. He was staring at the ground, his stomach churning. He didn't want anything bad to happen to his grandfather. He swallowed before he looked up again and asked, "You'll be careful right grandpa?"
"Of course I will short man," said Mr. Franco patting Adrian's head.
Author's notes:

Chapter 2: Back to Hogwarts.
It was the day before the new term started at Hogwarts and Diagon Alley was swarming with students buying all their school supplies. It was about noon when Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat at one of the tables outside Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor.
"I can't believe you two are still taking Divination," said Hermione putting the two bags containing her purchases next to her chair. "That class is just rubbish. Why don't you take something interesting, like Ancient Runes or Arithmancy?"
"What? Are you crazy?" cried Ron with a look of terror in his face. "At least in Divination we can pass by making stuff up. Could you imagine us having to crack our heads to learn all that complicated stuff you learn? It gives me the chills just to think about it."
"You'll never change," said Hermione shaking her head.
Florean Fortescue came out of his shop holding a vanilla milkshake for Hermione, a double-scoop-chocolate and butter pecan sundae for Harry and a double banana split for Ron. They thanked Florean and began eating their desserts. Ron was devouring his double banana split. He was almost done eating it when he remembered where Hermione had spent her summer. "How was your summer in Bulgaria, Hermione?"
"It was pretty good," replied Hermione.
"Did you see little Viktor Krum over there? He must have been very happy to know that you went all the way to Bulgaria just to see him," teased Ron exchanging looks with Harry, who was smirking.
"In case you don't know, I didn't go to Bulgaria to see him," replied Hermione blushing.
"Then why did you go?" teased Harry.
"Because my parents were attending a Dentist's Convention that happened to be in Bulgaria," answered Hermione crossly.
"Then I bet you had a lot of free time to spend with Viktor," teased Ron.
"For your information, I just saw him a couple of times."
"Ohh, you mean you dated him a couple of times?" said Ron trying very hard not to laugh at Hermione's now tomato-red face. "Hermione has a boyfriend," he added and he and Harry busted out laughing.
"I didn't date him!" yelled Hermione standing up. "And he IS NOT my boyfriend, understand?"
Hermione picked up her bags and walked furiously away from them.
"Ron, I think you overdid it this time," said Harry. "I think we better go and apologize to her."
"Do we have to?" whined Ron and Harry gave him a 'Of course we do' kind of look.
"All right, all right, let's go."
So Harry and Ron got up and went after Hermione who was fuming and not paying attention to her surroundings. Suddenly, "ouch" Hermione felt a bump and fell painfully to the ground.
"Watch it," said a voice in front of her.
She looked up and saw a very handsome boy with light brown hair and big hazel eyes who was on the ground too. The boy got up and offered Hermione a hand. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm okay. Sorry," she said irritated picking up her things and walking away.
"Hey you are welcome, you are the one that bumped into me!" called the boy after her.
Ron and Harry hurried to where the boy was standing. "Please forgive her. She is a little mental," said Ron.
"She is not mental, Ron. She just got mad at us, and that's why she wasn't paying attention," offered Harry apologetically.
"Well, I think she is dangerous. Why don't you go get her before she knocks down half of Diagon Alley," said the boy with a grin.
"You're right. Sorry, bye."
The next day, Harry, Ron, Hermione (much calmer now after she had accepted Ron and Harry's apologies), Fred, George, Ginny, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were waiting outside the Leaky Cauldron for the two cars from the Ministry of Magic that were going to take them to King's Cross Station.
The other time that this had happened was during Harry's third year at Hogwarts when everyone was worried that Sirius Black might kill Harry. This time it wasn't Black they feared, but Voldemort, who had returned to full strength just at the end of last term.
"Here they are," said Mr. Weasley pointing at two big blue cars.
Everyone got in and soon they were at the station ready to go aboard the Hogwarts Express.
Mr. Weasley gathered everyone around him and his wife to tell them, "Guys, I want all of you to be very careful, even though we know that Hogwarts is a safe place for now."
"Do not worry, father, we solemnly swear that we will be careful," said George putting his right hand over his heart in an uncanny imitation of Percy.
"Speaking of being careful. I don't want to get ANY letters from Hogwarts saying that you haven't been behaving properly," said Mrs. Weasley looking at the twins, who were pretending not to know who the warning was for. "Yeah, this warning is for you Fred and George."
"Us mother?" asked Fred and George feigning surprise and indignation.
"And you too, Ronald," snapped Mrs. Weasley now looking at Ron who was sniggering next to the twins. "Well, good luck to everyone."
Mrs. Weasley hugged and kissed all her children, Harry, and Hermione before they got onto the train. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny sat together in a compartment chatting all the way until they arrived to Hogwarts. When they entered the Great Hall they saw that it was magnificently decorated with the colors of the four different houses and that the enchanted ceiling showed a beautiful starry night. Harry, Ron and Hermione sat at their usual spots at the Gryffindor table.
"Hey, Lupin is back!" said Harry excitedly pulling Ron's sleeve.
"That's great!" answered Ron turning to look over at the teacher's table.
Just then the first year students came in to the Hall. All of them had the same nervous, if not terrified, look on their faces. Professor Dumbledore stood up and said, "Welcome to Hogwarts everyone. Before we begin the sorting ceremony I want to make a few announcements. First, as always the Forbidden Forest is absolutely out of bounds for all the students. Second, I am glad to announce that Professor Lupin is back with us to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. And third, among our new students we have a student who has transferred from Spain and will be beginning his fifth year here with us. Welcome Mr. Franco. I believe that's all, let the Sorting begin."
"Isn't that the boy Hermione knocked down yesterday in Diagon Alley?" asked Ron pointing at a tall boy standing at the end of the line of first years.
"Yes, it is," said Harry.
Professor McGonagall took out a long list of first years and began reading it out loud. One by one all the students were sorted into their houses until only the transfer student was left. "Franco, Adrian," called McGonagall.
Adrian stepped forward nervously. Everyone was staring at him wondering what house he was going to be sorted into.
"If he is sorted into Gryffindor someone is going to be in trouble," whispered Ron looking at Hermione.
"What? It was an accident," said Hermione crossly.
"You were very rude Mrs. Granger," said Ron imitating McGonagall's high-pitched voice.
"Shhh," said Harry as he elbowed Ron in the ribs. "Look."
Professor McGonagall had placed the hat on Adrian's head. "Mmmm... a good mind, very intelligent indeed. Perhaps Ravenclaw..." Adrian jumped when he heard the hat speaking to him. "Creepy," he thought.
"Oh, you think I'm creepy?" said the hat in his mind.
"You can read my mind? Cool," thought Adrian.
"That's more like it. Now, back to the task at hand. Mmmm... I see you are very brave... Interesting, very interesting. I know just where to put you...GRYFFINDOR!" yelled the hat, followed by applauses from the Gryffindor table.
Next Chapter: You'll get to know a bit more about this new boy, Adrian, who seems to be Malfoy's friend and, of course, lots more about Harry and the gang.
Author's notes: Well, that was the second chapter of the story (duh) so PLEASE REVIEW!!!!!
Chapter 3: The New Boy.
Adrian got up from the stool and walked over to the Gryffindor table. He looked around and was very relieved to see a bunch of smiling faces waiting for him at the table. He found an empty seat next to Harry and sat down.
"Hi, remember us?" called Ron across Harry's face.
"Oh yeah, I remember you two and Ms. Danger there," said Adrian looking at Hermione, who was sitting next to Ron.
"It's Ms. Granger for your information and what happened yesterday was an accident for which I believe I already offered my apologies," said Hermione coldly and she turned away to talk to Ginny and Parvati.
"Touchy, huh?" said Adrian still looking at Hermione.
Soon all sorts of succulent plates appeared in front of them. All the students helped themselves to whatever kind of food they preferred. Ron's plate was overflowing with chicken, corn, baked potatoes, ham and whatever else he could get his hands on. He took a bite off a chicken wing and said, "Just ignore her. By the way, I'm Ron Weasley and my friend here is Harry Potter."
"Harry Potter? The famous Harry Potter?" asked a surprised Adrian.
Harry nodded uncomfortably. He still wasn't used to how people reacted every time they knew who he was.
"Wow Harry! They even know about you in Spain!" said Ron patting Harry on the back.
Soon the feast was over and all the students went to their dormitories. When Harry and Ron entered their dormitory they were surprised to see that instead of the five four-poster beds there were now six. Their roommates Seamus Finnigan, Neville Longbottom, and Dean Thomas were already there, and they looked just as surprised as Harry and Ron.
"Looks like the new kid is sleeping with us," said Seamus putting on his pajamas.
"I hope he's nice," said Neville who was on his knees and poking his head under his bed, "Trevor, where are you?"
Harry and Ron rolled their eyes and went over to their beds. They noticed that, as usual, their things had already been brought up and arranged neatly next to their beds. Neville was still crawling on the floor looking under everyone's bed and saying, "Trevor, where are you now? Come here Trevor."
"Is this by any chance what you are looking for?" asked Adrian who had just come in holding a toad.
"Trevor! Er... thank you. I am Neville Longbottom," said Neville shaking Adrian's hand.
Dean and Seamus walked over to them and introduced themselves to Adrian. Ron and Harry just waved at him since they had already met.
"I'm Dean Thomas, welcome."
"I'm Seamus Finnigan."
Just as Adrian was about to shake Seamus' hand a voice behind him said, "be careful when you shake his hand it might explode."
"Very funny Fred, shouldn't you be in your dormitory?" snapped Seamus.
Fred and George walked into the dormitory. "We came to introduce ourselves to our new fellow Gryffindor," said Fred.
"Misters Fred and George Weasley, future owners of the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Joke Shop," said the twins bowing.
"Pleased to meet you," said an amused Adrian.
George took out a handful of toffees from his pocket and offered them to everyone. "By the way, we have brought some candies for our friends."
Dean, Seamus, Neville, and Adrian took one immediately. Harry took one too, but he knew better than to eat it. The episode of Dudley's gigantic tongue after he ate one of the toffees that Fred had "accidentally" dropped at the Dursleys a year ago was still fresh in his mind. Ron refused to take one saying, "I wouldn't eat them if I was you. Last time I had one I had cabbages coming out of my ears."
But Ron's warning came too late, Neville had already finished his toffee and now his tongue was growing extremely fast.
"Help, delp, delp," cried Neville looking terrified at his tongue while everyone was laughing.
Fred took out his wand, pointed it at Neville's tongue and it immediately went back to its normal size.
"These are part of our merchandise," said George brandishing another handful of toffees of all shapes, colors and sizes.
"The one our dear friend Neville just had is a 'Ton-tongue Toffee', if anyone would like to place an order just talk to us," said Fred walking toward the door followed by George.
"When are you going to learn Neville?" said Ron.
"Learn what?" replied a confused Neville. Ron rolled his eyes.
"Hey Fred, George wait!" said Adrian bending over his very expensive-looking trunk and taking out a handful of gold galleons. "I'll take a few of those and what other kind of tricks do you have?"
"Follow us," said George grinning from ear to ear.
The three of them walked out the door and Harry made himself a mental note not to ever accept anything to eat from Fred, George or Adrian.
The next morning Harry and Ron were on their way to the Great Hall for breakfast when they saw a big crowd in the Gryffindor common room.
"Is everyone here?" called McGonagall over everyone's heads. "I have an announcement to make. The Inter-House Quidditch Cup will be taking place this year."
Everyone cheered, especially the members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team who were jumping up and down excitedly. McGonagall cleared her throat and sent some sparks up for attention.
"As I was saying, the Quidditch Cup will be taking place this year and as we all know our team needs a new keeper since Oliver Wood graduated a year ago. Tryouts for this position will be taking place next week and after that we will be deciding who the new team captain is going to be. That's all, you may go down for breakfast now."
Professor McGonagall exited the common room followed by several students, all of them talking about the good news. Obviously everybody loved Quidditch and they were all very happy and excited that the Quidditch tournament was taking place again.
"Are you trying out Ron?" asked Harry while he, Ron and Hermione walked toward the Great Hall for breakfast.
"Are you kidding? I don't even have a broom."
"Look at your new friend," said Hermione pointing ahead.
Harry and Ron's mouths fell open when they saw Adrian talking to--
"Malfoy! How can he be talking to that git?" whispered Ron.
"Dunno." Harry shrugged.
"You think they're friends?" asked Ron glancing back at Adrian, Draco, Crabbe and Goyle.
Harry was about to answer when Hermione interrupted, "Honestly, don't you two have better things to worry about than as to who that idiot befriends?" And she brushed past them.
Later, after breakfast, Harry, Ron and Hermione were checking their schedules.
"Oh man, double Potions with the Slytherins again?" whined Ron.
"Keep going down the schedule Ron," taunted Hermione.
"And Care of Magical Creatures with them too? God, what did we do to deserve this torment? At least we have Defense Against the Dark Arts today after Potions."
"Yeah, well, we better get going or we'll be late for Potions," sighed Harry sadly.
Potions was certainly the class he hated the most and having to endure two hours with Professor Snape and on top of that with a bunch of Slytherins was truly a torment. When they arrived to the dungeon where the class took place they saw that several students, mainly Slytherins, were already at their tables. Harry, Ron and Hermione, as usual, went to the back of the classroom and were soon joined by Adrian.
"Hi guys, can I sit here with you?" asked Adrian.
Ron and Harry looked at each other and shrugged.
"Sure, why not? Stupid quill!" said Ron bending down to pick up the quill that had fallen to the floor when he opened his bag. Just then a drawling voice came from behind him.
"Trying to see if someone dropped a bronze Knut Weasley?" said Malfoy sneering.
Ron got up glaring at him with his fists clenched.
"Keep looking Weasley, you might find a silver sickle. That'll be enough to feed your family for a week."
Ron jumped over, ready to hit Malfoy but Harry and Hermione pulled him back by his robes.
"Just ignore him Ron. He's not worth a detention," said Hermione glaring at Malfoy who was still sneering behind Crabbe and Goyle.
"Poor Weasley, really poor Weasley. Here, have a Sickle," said Malfoy throwing a Sickle at Ron's face.
By now, several students had their heads turned gawking at the scene. Ron pulled away from Harry and Hermione's grip. He walked the short distance separating him from Malfoy and threw a punch at him, but Adrian held Ron's fist just in time to stop it from hitting Malfoy's face. Malfoy's sneer widened. Ron was burning with anger. He couldn't believe that Adrian, a Gryffindor, was going to stick up for a Slytherin (especially if that Slytherin happened to be Draco Malfoy). Ron was about to hit Adrian with his free arm when Adrian turned to look at him and said, "Ron don't do it. You are just going to get yourself in trouble." Ron opted not to hit Adrian yet, so he lowered his fist. Adrian took a step closer to Malfoy and hissed, "Why don't you shut up and get lost Malfoy?"
Draco raised his eyebrows in surprise. "I thought you were a little smarter at choosing your friends, but I see you are not. I wonder what your grandfather would say if he knew you are associating with beggars and mudbloods. Have it your way, but let me tell you that you just got yourself an enemy, and we Malfoys are powerful enemies."
"Really?"
"Come on," said Malfoy to Crabbe and Goyle and the three of them turned and went back to their table.
Harry and Hermione stood flabbergasted. They couldn't believe what they've just seen: Adrian, who they thought was Draco's friend, had just told him off and stopped Ron from getting in trouble (or so they thought). Harry finally found his voice and said, "I thought he was your friend Adrian."
"Malfoy, my friend?"
"We saw you talking to him this morning," added Ron still shaking with anger and straightening his robes.
"Oh yeah, we met a few days ago in a party that my grandpa took me to and this morning he found me in the hall and began talking to me. I didn't really like him before, but now, after this, I know I don't like him at all."
While Ron was taking deep breaths to calm himself down Snape came in to the classroom. The chatter was dying as he walked noiseless around the tables. He finally stopped at Harry's table, right behind Adrian.
"Mr. Franco, our new transfer student, I see you are making new friends already," said Snape. Adrian who didn't hear him coming jumped at the sound of his voice and turned to face him and nodded. Snape palled when he saw Adrian; he had the impression that he had seen this boy before or better said, that he reminded him of someone. He got over his surprise and said, "I am Professor Snape and I would like to advise you not to get too close to Mr. Potter, he isn't a very good influence."
Just then Pansy Parkinson called him apart and told him something very quietly. As soon as she was finished Snape returned to Harry's table.
"So, you were starting a brawl in my class Mr. Weasley?" Ron's ears went pink with anger. "Ten points from Gryffindor." Having said that, Snape turned and started walking back to his desk at the front of the class.
Adrian couldn't believe his ears. He had heard that Snape always favored the Slytherins but this was a real injustice. He gathered all his courage and called after Snape, "Draco Malfoy was in it too! In fact, he is the one responsible for it. Don't you think you should take points from Slytherin too Professor?"
Everyone stared open-mouthed as Snape stopped abruptly and turned to face Adrian, his face rigid with anger. Snape walked back to Harry's table slowly, the same way a lion does right before it jumps on its prey. When he reached the table he stood in front of Adrian, their faces just a couple of inches away.
"I think that my advice reached you too late. I see that you have already caught Potter's insolence. Ten points more from Gryffindor and don't ever tell me what to do Mr. Franco," he said slowly, his voice full of cold anger.
Adrian didn't say anything. He just stared Snape straight in the eye furiously, and Snape had again the strange sensation that this boy reminded him of someone. He went back to the front of the classroom and began writing down the ingredients needed for that day's potion.
The rest of the class went by smoothly with the exception of Neville making his cauldron explode in Seamus' face. Seamus was taken to the hospital wing and Gryffindor lost another twenty points because of the incident. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity to Harry, Ron and Adrian the class ended.
"Stupid Snape, son of a..." Ron was mumbling as he put all his stuff away. Soon he, Harry, Hermione and Adrian were ready to leave the dungeon. They walked through the rows of tables, one behind the other with Hermione in the lead. Harry moved next to Ron, who was still cursing at Snape under his breath.
"Come on Ron, at least you didn't get a detention," whispered Harry.
Not even a second later than Harry had said this, Snape looked up from his desk and said, "Weasley, Franco! Don't leave yet. We need to arrange your detentions."
Next Chapter: What kind of detention is Snape going to give Ron and Adrian? And for Remus' lovers (like me): the next chapter is mainly about him. There's also a flashback to the time of the Marauders and lots of romance, so keep reading please!
Author's note: Hope you liked this chapter and you know the drill: PLEASE REVIEW!!!! (I need encouragement lol).
