Chapter 3: Ridiculous?

"Ron! What is the matter with you! Honestly!"

Oh I knew it was a dream. Just a silly good for nothing little dream! She's still yelling at me like she was a few minutes before.

"Are you alright?" Hermione says, her breath oddly close to my face.

"What happened?" I ask, opening my eyes, and sitting up. Why did the dream have to end? It was such a good dream!

Hermione quickly moved her head so I managed to avoid a collision with it. I look her up and down, seeing the bemused expression on her face. Her eyes are twinkling merrily, as if she had been laughing.

"Nothing, nothing!" Hermione says, trying to hide a giggle with her hand. "It's just I can't believe you fainted!"

"What? I fainted?"

Hang on! What is she talking about? If I fainted then the dream I thought I had dreamt wasn't really a dream at all. Which means the kiss Hermione gave me. "was a real kiss." I say out loud, half to myself.

"Of course it was a real kiss! You can't go on giving out fake ones can you?" Hermione said, smiling like mad, obviously catching my sentence.

Blimey! My first real kiss and I faint! Honestly what is the matter with me! Damnit, stop blushing! Yup good one Weasley! Red ears are so attractive! Wait a minute...if you faint in the middle of your first kiss then you really didn't get your first kiss in the first place. Right?

"Hermione...," I say edging closer to her, my expression becomes seductively evil. "Since I fainted, maybe you could remind it went." O my merlin! I cannot believe I just said that!

"Fine by me!" Hermione said, "I hope you don't..." But I don't let her finish. Quickly I close the space between us and feel her soft lips on mine.

It's even better than I imagined. Shut it you! Isn't it normal for a guy to imagine getting kissed by his bound to be girlfriend. Ok I admit it! I guess the whole jealous-because-I-like-Hermione-thing isn't so ridiculous after all! I really do like my best friend! No not Harry...TWITS!

"Hermione," I say breaking the kiss. "Wanna go out with me?" I ask, nervous and only slightly audible.

"Why, I'd never thought you'd ask, " she says beaming. "Only if you promise not to faint every time we kiss!"

"Hey!" I say teasingly and give her a nudge on the shoulder. I didn't faint this time!"

"How bout now?" she says, and gives me another peck.

"Keep trying sweetheart!" I say. Wow I've never called anybody "sweetheart" before. Oh well desperate times call for desperate measures...

"So now that you're obviously better," Hermione says, "How bout we go study?"

"Fine by me," I say, and grab her hand. I must look like a dork because I've got this huge smile plastered on my face as if I've just won 1000 Galleons. I hardly doubt we'll get much studying done anyways. Hermione doesn't have to know that...yet!

As we're walking hand in hand down the hall, towards the library, I see a tall black-haired figure swish past us.

"Was that?" I ask Hermione, my voice trailing off.

"Uh huh," she giggled, looking up at me, eyes twinkling. "It appears he finally washed his hair!"

Whoa! Snape washing his hair? Talk about ridiculous!
