Chapter Eleven

After class, Hermione, Ron, and Harry proceeded to the Dungeons for Potions class.

"Can you believe we have all of our classes with Malfoy?" Ron complained.

Hermione just continued smiling as they walked down the stairs where it continued getting dark. Ron noticed her smirk and angrily ask, "What are you so bloody happy about?"

"Malfoy," she said calmly, "Has detention with Professor McGonagall for pulling out his wand on me this morning."

Harry and Ron's jaws dropped as they stared at her in awe.

"I sort of, told him I saw him this morning in the Great Hall and he got a little, actually, a lot angry," Hermione explained.

The trio walked into Potions with huge smiles on their faces. They took their seats behind their cauldrons and got out their textbooks.

Professor Snape walked in and sat behind his own cauldron. He cleared his throat and said, "I see all of you have decided to return to my class this year. I assumed that after six years of my class, some of you," he glared at Harry, "would have decided to drop this class."

Under his breath, Harry muttered, "Well, assuming makes an even bigger ass out of you than you already are."

Hermione giggled a little too loud.

"Is something funny, Miss Granger?" Snape snarled at her, giving her the evil eye.

Hermione's face went white as she quietly answered, "No, Professor Sna-"

"I didn't think so," Snape interrupted. "For your next class, you will need the items, listed on the board," he pointed to the chalkboard and the ingredients immediately appeared.

Hermione pulled out her purple homework planner and jotted down the ingredients. Much to Hermione's surprise, Ron and Harry both pulled out their homework planners that she had given them for Christmas two years ago.

Figures, after two years, they finally start using those planners. Maybe this is a sign that they are maturing... Nah!

"You are dismissed," Snape interrupted Hermione's thoughts as he left the classroom.

Harry turned to Hermione. "Sorry about that, Hermione, I didn't think he here us," Harry apologized.

"It's okay, you didn't mean to."

"I thought it didn't matter if someone meant to do something, the fact is she did," Ron ridiculed her.

Hermione looked Ron straight in the eyes. Her eyes quickly welled with tears. Hermione ran out of the classroom, into the Dungeon hallways. She stopped outside the classroom. Many Slytherin students stared at her.

Hermione sprinted up the stairs to an empty hallway. She guessed that most students were eating lunch. She heard footsteps behind her. Hermione made to run, but a hand grabbed her arm. Hermione immediately ripped her arm out of Ron's grip.

"Hermione, I was just joking!" Ron yelled across the hall, where Hermione was already dashing up the stairs.

Hermione continued running up the stairs and yelled, "I have, absolutely, nothing to sat t-"

Everything went black as Hermione's foot caught one of the stairs and she fell onto the cold stone floor.
