Hermione Granger and the Two Lovers

Chapter Two

Hermione hopped out of the car and pushed her way through the crowd, leading up to the trolley pick-up area. Hermione pushed her way back to the car, where her father was hauling her massive trunk out of the trunk of the car. Her father, carefully, positioned the trunk on the trolley, but still managed to squish his finger under it. After her father finished complaining about how much his finger hurt and how Hermione had too many books, they headed through the busy station, towards Platforms 9 and 10. Ginny seemed to be searching for Hermione because when Hermione was within seeing distance, Ginny started calling out her name. "Hermione! Hermione! Everyone, Hermione's here!" Ginny shrieked across the station. Hermione blushed, while noticing that the whole station was staring at either Hermione or Ginny.

Ron turned around and smiled. "Hi!" Harry continued staring at the ground, avoiding catching Hermione's eye.

Hermione greeted everyone when she finally reached them. Hermione gave Ginny a hug and an evil look, because of how Ginny had embarrassed her, but Ginny didn't seem to notice. Hermione handed the broken toaster to Mr. Weasley who observed it with great curiosity. She turned to give Mrs. Weasley a hug, but Mrs. Weasley was too busy scolding Ginny for being so loud and more attention to them than they attracted before, even with their interesting Muggle outfits.

Hermione turned to Ron and squeezed him with all her might. She felt bubbles in her stomach when he wrapped his arms around her back. She had missed him so much, without even realizing it.

Hermione and Ron let go of each other and Hermione turned to Harry who was looking at the ground awkwardly and glancing up at her every few seconds. Hermione and Harry's eyes met and they each took a small step forward. Harry held up his arms for her to hug him and Hermione slowly stepped a little closer and wrapped her arms around him nervously. As he wrapped his arms around her, Hermione blinked back the tears stinging at the back of her eyes. Ron gave her a compassionate look when her noticed her trying to fight back the tears. Don't cry, don't cry!

When Harry and Hermione let go of each other, Mr. Weasley was drawn into a conversation with Hermione's parents about Muggle appliances and the objects they used at their dentist office. Mrs. Weasley, however, seemed to be eying Harry and Hermione in a puzzling way, as though to ask why their hug had been so awkward.

"Well, I think it's about time for you four to get on to the platform. We wouldn't want you to miss the train," she glared at Ron and Ron's ears turn bright red. "Remember, we don't have our car anymore," Mrs. Weasley finished as she shoved them towards the barrier.

Hermione hugged and kissed her parents and gave Mr. and Mrs. Weasley hugs before she grabbed her trolley and Crookshanks, and ran through the barrier into Platform 9 ¾.
