It's A Small World After All

Chapter 6:

Sarah watched Lily. Something was different. She seemed very jumpy, and Nikki was starting to give her the evil glare. Something was off. Then, Sirius came over and kissed her, almost making her forget what she was thinking about.

"Hey," Sirius said. Sarah smiled at him and said hi, then he started to kiss her, but then she pulled back.

"Sirius, something really weird is going on," Sarah said.

"You're telling me, I thought you liked me to kiss you," he said with hurt in his voice. Sarah looked at him and laughed.

"Well, that's really rude," Sirius said with a pout.

"Sorry, it has nothing to do with us. It has to do with Lily. She's been acting really strange, and I know that it has to do with James." Sirius looked at her wondering if he should tell her. He then made up his mind, What the heck.

"Okay, I'll tell you. James walked in when Lily was crying. He comforted her, then... well... he kissed her, and they started to make out. Lily pulled back though, because he's going out with Nikki, he told her that they were going to be together eventually," Sirius said slowly.

"Well, good for her. She doesn't want to be the other girl."

"Sarah, darling, she is the other girl. He really likes her, besides he told me that he already broke up with Nikki, and they where sort of serious," he whispered. Understanding dawned on Sarah's face.

"Well, I guess we're going to have to help him." Sirius had a confused look on his face.

"I don't understand. I mean, isn't she going to want to be with him?" Sirius asked.

"Of course she wants to be with him, but he's going to have to do something special, really special for her," Sarah said wisley.

"Oh. Like what," Sirius asked.

"I don't know. It's up to Lily for that one."

James sat next to Sirius, who was writing a note to Sarah. He looked up at the chalkboard where McGonagall was writing the notes for the class. She started the lesson, and he went off into his own world.

He just didn't understand it. He had done everything that he knew Lily would like, but it just wasn't enough! What was he supposed to do? He thought about it, but nothing came to mind. He was starting to think that nothing would work, when he finally figured it out.

"Yes! I've got it!" James said this very loud. Everybody looked at him, and he turned a startling color of red.

"Potter, calm yourself. It's nice that someone got the lesson," McGongall said. James looked away, but had a huge smile on his face.

Lily looked out the window. It was starting to snow, and the Marauders were going crazy outside. Sarah walked up and sat down next to her.

"Hey Lils. I thought that you were going home for Christmas," Sarah said. Lily looked at her and gave a weak smile.

"I was, but then I heard that Petunia was bringing her boyfriend over, so I decided to stay."

"That bad?"

"Oh, yeah. I met him during summer, and he was a total snob. I couldn't stand him. My parents were disappointed, but they understood." James entered the Common Room, and flashed a smile at Lily. Sarah saw this and smiled herself.

"He's been really sectrive lately. I think he's figured out that special thing."

"I don't know. Maybe we shouldn't be together," Lily said with despair.

"Oh, Lily don't say that! When he held you how did it feel to you?"

"It felt so right. I'm just so confused, and I don't know what to do. Lately I've been having these dreams about James and me. I see us together, getting married, and then me being pregnant, and during this James has always been in the dream. I really don't know what to do," Lily said this as tears started to fall down her face.

"It's okay Lily. Look, if you guys are really meant to be together, then when James does whatever he does, you'll know." Lily nodded, wiped away her tears, and then looked at James.

It was the night before Christmas, and everything was in chaos. James had set up everything to be prefect; now he had to wait for Lily to come.

Lily walked into the Common room; it looked like a winter wonderland. Snow was gently falling, holly was everywhere, and there were icicles hanging from the walls. It was the most beautiful thing that she had ever seen. James then stood up and said, "May I have everybody's attention please? For several months now, I have been trying to woo Lily Evans, but through all of my hard work nothing has succeeded. Finally it came to me, as some of you remember, during McGonagall's class, so here it is. I dedicate this song to Miss Lily Evans." He turned on the music and started to sing.

Lily watched as James sang and tears started to roll down her checks. She listened as he continued:

Lily listened as James finished the song, she walked up to him and kissed him. She pulled back, smiled at him, he smiled at her, and he kissed her. Everyone cheered. Sirius and Remus shook their heads, walked up to James and Lily.

"Everyone we have a song that we want to sing, since, James here inspired us. Hit it." Suddenly you could hear the intro to "My Girl".

I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day!

And when it's cold outside, I got the month of May!

Everyone laughed at this, Sirius and Remus took a bow, and more music came. It was a celebration of James and Lily's relationship. It was about midnight when McGonagall made her appearance.

"It's time for bed, all of you!" There was some muttering, but everyone listened. James walked Lily to her dorm and kissed her goodnight. It was the best Christmas Eve Lily had in a long time.
