It's A Small World After All Chapter 3:

Lily sat in her room, completely bored. She got into a huge fight with her sister, so now she was grounded, and all of her homework was done. She turned over on her back and looked at her ceiling. When she eight, her father had painted the constellations on her ceiling. She was looking for the Little Dipper when she heard a tap at the window. Frowning, she sat up and looked at it. There was a tap again so she got up and saw...Sirius's head. Lily opened the window, leaned out and said, "And what do I owe to this unexpected visit, kind sir?"

"I have come to rescue a young damsel in distress."

"Oh, how brave are thou, to come and liberate me in my time of need."

"Anything to help a young lady like thee whose beauty surpasses all, and whose spirit one would gladly take care of. I would do anything for thee, I would slay dragons, fight wicked witches, fight-"

"Oh, would you shut-up already, Sirius? We get the idea," James said rudely.

"Okay, you do not have to be so rude about it," Sirius said painfully.

"Okay, what are you guys doing here?" Lily questioned.

"I told you, we've come to rescue you."

"Really, we are we going?"

"My place," James said.

"I can't. I am grounded, and I'll just get into more trouble if I go with you guys."

The guys looked at each other, knowing this would happen, so the took the next step.

"Didn't you say that you wanted to not be so predicable, and have fun? I mean sure you could get caught, but that just makes it even better, so how about, Lil, will you come with us?" Sirius asked. They both had expressions of pleading, and it did seem fun, so Lily, naturally, went.

Well, needless to say Lily did get caught. Her parents caught right when she walked through the window, and it went down hill from there. Her dad yelled and lectured. Her mother stayed quiet and thoughtful, which was a bad sign to Lily, she knew she was in deep.

"Lily, darling, what you did is not like you. I don't understand why you did this. We told you, no going anywhere, and you can't Owl any of your friends. Now, your sister kept her end of the deal, so she's not going to be grounded. You on the other hand get the privilege of staying grounded. Do you understand?" her father asked.

Lily nodded, and muttered yes.

"Good, dinner will be done in 15 minutes."

Lily watched as her parents left her room, and was very angry.

Lily was not having too well of a summer. It seemed that Petunia was planning and Lily kept on getting into more and more trouble. She was very angry. So, when it was a week before school started, she was happy to be away from her (she was in London). She had also gotten the letter stating that she was Head Girl, and that James was Head Boy. I wonder how he did that? Lily picked up all of her school things, and waited for the term to begin. The day before school started, her mother cooked a special dinner.

Lily's dad said, "Lily, I know that this was a hard summer for you, and I'm sorry for it. Your mother and I want to give you something, since it's your birthday." He handed her a package, and she opened, and gasped out loud. "Oh, Daddy it's beautiful," she whispered. Nestled inside were a heart necklace and a pair of diamond earrings. She looked up with tears in her eyes, "Thank you. I love it. And I love you guys." It was the best farewell dinner that Lily had.
