Set during the OotP and post-OotP time frames: Ginny Weasley was never one who was noticed, as was Remus Lupin. Both are surrounded by people who would fight for them, and would die for them, but are they really as fortunate as they are made out to be? And what of the apparently two-dimensional characters that are Draco Malfoy and Cho Chang? With the onset of the Second War, lives start to merge in a rapid concoction of past hurts, present wounds, love, desire, hate and revenge which only conflict could bring and only conflict could result from…and Harry sure never knew the half of it. Ginny Weasley, the girl with a past she has not quite come to terms with. Grappling with the threat of a renewed war in the wizarding world, her own adolescence – a growing confidence versus endless worries, insecurities and rapidly accumulating ghosts – and her search for her own voice, Ginny subsequently learns to tackle an embittered Harry, a less-than-perfect Cho, a not-quite-repentant Percy, a self-deprecating Ron…and to befriend an indefinable, contradictory Draco Malfoy. Through it all, Ginny tries to redeem what she had gambled and lost in her first year, but unbeknownst to her, darkness often has a way of claiming ownership over more than what it owns…Post OoTP, possibly D/G or H/G, with references to former Tom/G.

Following the disappearance of Ginny Weasley in the final battle against Voldemort, the disillusioned and virtually forgotten Unspeakable, Draco Malfoy, is forced to face up to what he dreads most: his murky past within the high walls of Hogwarts, and the secretive relationship he and Ginny had shared in Draco’s last two years there. Trapped in a labyrinth of lies, prejudice, half-truths and fear, Draco will have to race against time – and himself – as he is brought back to his seventh-year, in the hope of retrieving something he should never have lost, in order to save Ginny for one last time.
