Prologue - How it All Started
With a big smile, Hermione Granger knocked on the front door of the Burrow, where she would be staying for the month. Ginny Weasley, the youngest of the Weasley siblings, opened the door, and gasped.
"Hermione, is that you?" Ginny was shocked. Hermione laughed and said, "Who else? Now let me in before I drop all my bags!"
Ron came out of the kitchen. "Ginny, what's going on..." He never finished his sentence, because the sight of Hermione left him speechless.
Hermione was wearing a thin short-sleeved hood jumper over a trunk top, which was pretty tight. Both the jumper and trunk top were white. She was also wearing a pair of jean shorts which came up to the top of her thigh. Her shoes were white strappy sandals.
There were more changes. Hermione's hair was now sleek and straight, and chestnut-coloured. She had grown at least a couple of inches taller. She also had light makeup on her face. Ron's eyes stuck to her long and slim legs, tanned just the right shade of brown. He suddenly realized that his best friend had become a woman, and a very desirable one, too.
Hermione rolled her eyes. "Jeez, Ron, will you stop staring at me like I'm a piece of meat?" She joked. "Now help me with the bags!"
Ginny looked shocked, and jealous. "I guess you finally grew up, Hermione," she said. "I wish I could be as pretty as you."
"You will be," Hermione assured Ginny, as Ron struggled with her bags. "Jeez, Herm, you brought like a hundred books to read again, I reckon."
"Oh, be quiet," Hermione said, pretending to be offended, the laughter in her eyes. "These books pack quite a punch!"
"I'll bet," said a third voice, which they couldn't recognize. Startled, they all turned around to see...
"Harry?" Hermione asked, with wonder in her voice.
"Yep, it's me," Harry replied casually. "Now, please, get out of the doorway, these bags are heavy, and I'm gonna drop them on your feet..."
Hermione couldn't believe her eyes. "God, Harry, I can't believe it! You've changed so much," she said. 'When did Harry become so good-looking???' She thought. Honestly, he looked good enough to eat. And a quick glance at Ginny told Hermione that she thought so too.
Harry had changed a lot, even more than Hermione. First of all, he had gotten rid of his glasses, that were blocking the intense green eyes any girl would've drowned in before. He was now 6 feet tall, largely in comparison with Hermione, who was a normal 5 feet 5, and Ginny's tiny 5 feet. His voice was now deep and husky, and the sound of it sent shivers down Hermione's spine. However, Ron was still in the stage where his voice sounded like he had been in a Chudley Cannons game, and he had shouted way too much.
His clothes were also a lot different from those he'd usually wear. He wore a green
loose shirt that brought out the colour of his eyes, and showed not-so-subtle hints of a very well-built figure. He also wore close-fitting black pants and black shoes.
Fred and George popped out of their room. Fred whistled. "Hermione! You've changed," George remarked casually. "You too, Harry."
"Quite the ladies' man you will be at Hogwarts, Harry, you old dog, being a prefect, quidditch captain, the Boy Who Lived, defeating Voldemort almost every year, and now as an added bonus, a cute face and muscles," said Fred, grinning.
"Whatever," Harry laughed it off, and came inside, as Hermione got out of the doorway. He put down his bags and said, "Guys, can you help me with my bags? Too bad we can't use magic, I could've used a Levitating Charm or something."
Ron still seemed shocked by his best friends' changes. "I can't believe it! You've both changed so much... and right under my nose! I feel so strange looking at you guys."
"Gee, Ron, you're making me feel like I grew an extra arm or something," Harry joked. "Oh, and Sirius is coming later on with his..."
"What? Harry, are you crazy? What if a muggle sees him? And what will the Weasleys say? I mean..."
Then, to Hermione's shock, Harry laughed. "Hermione, I guess you canceled your subscription to the Daily Prophet. Sirius has been cleared! Months ago!"
Hermione looked even more shocked. Then she forced herself to be calm. "Well, Harry Potter, you could've told me before you almost gave me a heart attack."
Harry looked embarrased. "Well, I thought you knew. I'm sorry." Hermione softened. Even with all his changes, she could still see the little boy inside him, full of insecurities and fears. "It's okay, Harry. I'm glad."
"Whew! I thought you were going to be mad at me," he sighed in relief. "Ron, you knew, right? Ginny, you too?"
Ron just grinned, while Ginny appeared to be very intrigued by the floor, her cheeks as red as her hair.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" George smirked. "Since you were busy chatting idly, We've put your bags in your rooms, now go to the kitchen and get something to eat!"
Ginny, Ron, Harry, and Hermione agreed and filed into the kitchen, as Fred and George went back into their room.
"I think ickle Ronniekins is just smitten with his best friend," Fred said to George. George replied, "Yes, and Hermione and Ginny seem to be fascinated with Harry, don't they? This could make this summer... interesting."
