CHAPTER 2

If They Only Knew

"I'm not telling you! I told you that you'd see at Hogwarts!" Ginny practically shouted, after Harry persisted about a hundred times.

"What are you going on about?" Ron asked

"Gin's dating someone and she wont tell me who. Curiosity has bit me hard, this time-"

Before Ron could get angry, Aunt Petunia bustled into the room, with a huge smile on her face, ignoring the boys.

"I'm so sorry-Ginny-is it? Well, Dudley had a young lady over, Miss Bulstrode. So he wanted no sight of anybody else. The girl has left, and now I can finally meet you. Oh, I have many things to show you, and to talk about. I'm the only woman in this household. Do you know what that feels like? Surrounded by men-"

At that, Petunia hurried Ginny out of the room, to talk; girl talk. Harry and Ron both rolled their eyes. Ron faced Harry.

"What do you mean Ginny's dating someone? She-she's just a child!"

"Ron. Get over it. She's 14. She doesn't need your protection any more. She can take care of herself. I mean, you-yourself started fancying Hermione in our second year!"

"How'd you-"

"Know? Ron. It was obvious like I said before."

Just then, someone came running into the room, screaming. It was Ginny, followed by Petunia.

"I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR WEDDING GARDER!!!"

"But that's not it, dear. You need to see my pictures-and there are so cute ones of Dudley!"

They both ran back out of the room. Ron and Harry started laughing so hard, their faces turned beet red. They were rudely interrupted their moment of happiness, when they heard a thump on the window.

"Errol!"

Ron hurried over to the window to fetch the owl. It was Errol alright. Clumsy, that one, and getting very old. Pig is staying with Fred and George temporarily for some odd unknown reason. He got the note from him, and Errol flew off.

"Bloody bird's a menace!" Ron exclaimed. He read the note.

Dear Ron,

I know you have only been there a few hours, but we have just received word that the Leaky Cauldron now has a room available. It has two bunk beds, so Harry can join you, so he won't have to stay with the Muggles any longer. You need to go by Floo Powder. Don't tell the Durzmeez, but that's the reason they found the whole place decked in leaves. A few Wood Nymphs got a hold of some Floo powder, and traveled there on accident, and don't say that your father forgot to take them off the list last year. Do it so the muggles wont know-inconspicuous. Love you, dear. Send Ginny my love.

"You see that, Harry. We can go to the Leaky Cauldron!"

"Yeah. I think we should all sleep out in the living room, so they 'Muggles' wont think anything is going on, then we could travel by Floo powder, there."

"Good Idea, Harry."

Ginny came back in the room out of breathe. She had finally given in from running, and looked at the pictures of Dudley as a baby.

"I am scarred for life!"

"Oh, Gin, come over here, I have to tell you something?"

She shut the door of Harry's room, and walked over to the bed and sat down between Ron and Harry. She just realized she could never tell either of them who she was dating. They would blow a top!

"What?"

Harry told her of their plan, and Ginny hoped it would work.

"Your aunt said Dudley was dating Millicent Bulstrode?" she finally said.

All of them started laughing so hard, tears were in their eyes. Ginny stop suddenly by seeing an eagle owl at the window, that flew in. Antares. Why are you here? The owl flew over to Ginny, and gave her the letter, and she opened it.

Virginia,

I heard about the raids at your house. Are you okay? I can't wait till Hogwarts. It's only a few weeks away, and then I'll see you again. This is Antares second flight, how is he? Well, I suppose I must go; my father would like to speak to me. He's kicking around another house-elf. Send Potter my love. Just kidding. Goodbye.

Draco Malfoy

"Harry, do you have some parchment I can borrow?"

"Sure." Harry got her a piece and a quill for her to write.

Malfoy,

You can drop the act, now. We both know why we're together. You don't need to pretend anything. You don't need to be nice. Treat me like always. Nobody's reading over my shoulder. If you keep that up at Hogwarts, my brother would be sure to find out, and he'll kill you. We both don't want that.

She sent the letter off with Antares, and left questions hanging with Harry and Ron. Not fifteen minutes later, Draco got the letter, and read it.

"Oh, Virginia...If you only knew..."

Ginny, smiled at Ron, and Harry, and thought of Draco. If he only knew...
