- YAY! I am so wanting to thank everyone who pushed me to write the next chapter...it had been forever, and I apologize ever so much...I want to say I'll try to update more often!
It was still dark when they arrived at The Leaky Cauldron. The bunk beds were across the room, and as they were extremely tired, Ginny, Harry, and Ron lazily walked toward them. Ginny plopped down on the bottom bunk, while the other two took the other bunk, Harry getting the bottom first. Ron almost fell a few times climbing up on top. The three of them were out like a light.
Morning came to much of the three's dismay. All they wanted to do was stay in bed all day, but the glare from the high-placed window shone in practically every direction. Ginny slowly got up and stretched. She wiped the sleep from her eyes, and noticed something on the ground next to the door.
She stood and slowly walked to it, looking at the object. It was an envelope, most likely a note from her mother. She picked it up and gazed at it. Silver ink was sparkling on the surface, spelling out her name. Ginny turned it over and broke the seal; she slipped the note from it and she read:
Dear Ginny,
I think it's time you should know what I really think of you. I think you are a kind person, but I would really not want to be seen with you at Hogwarts. I know we must, but there simply has to be a way to counter-act the crystal. Anyway, dearest, I found out what room you're in (obviously) so maybe I should pop in and say hello to your brother. Goodbye!
From,
Draco
As soon as she finished reading the letter, Ginny heard a small knock on the door. She looked over at Harry and Ron, who were apparently still groggy, and not paying any attention to anything else. She took the handle and twisted it, opening the door just a little. She dropped the paper. She hurried outside and pinned the person against the opposite wall.
"What are you doing here?" she asked through her clenched teeth.
"Weasley, I didn't know you were this feisty..."
"I'm serious, Malfoy. What are you doing here?" Ginny asked the tall, handsome blond.
"Maybe I just came to see the lovely Virginia Weasley."
Ginny put a hand on her hip but still held her other hand firm against him. She pushed him closer to the wall.
"Never call me Virginia. Ever."
At that moment, Draco took his arms and grabbed Ginny's, and swung her around to push her against the wall. He inched closer and closer.
"Now what are you going to do about that, Virginia?"
"I said don't call me that. Now please back off." But he stayed put; she persisted, "I said please." Draco took this opportunity to kiss her, I mean, really kiss her, which was an awkward time for Harry to walk out. The bad part was...Ginny didn't really persist. Harry was dumbfounded. He could not find anything to say. But then Ron did as he walked out at that moment to see what was going on. It took a moment for it to sink in.
"Ginny! What the hell are you doing?!" he shouted at the two snogging against the wall, which seemed uninterrupted in the slightest bit. Ron fumed. His little sister was snogging someone...he couldn't really tell who it was, but the hair looked vaguely familiar.
Ron grabbed the bloke's shoulder and pulled him off his sister. He looked back in disgust. Ron then noticed who this bloke was. Draco Malfoy. Ron was about to attack him like a dog, but Harry held him back.
"Ginny. This is the guy you're seeing?" Harry asked, somewhat hurt. Ginny nodded, and Harry let go of the upset Ron and sulked back into the room. Ginny shrugged the guilt off. He would find out why soon enough.
Ron decided not to attack Malfoy at the moment. He would save it for school, in a few days. He couldn't help but wonder why Ginny chose Draco of all people, but Ron would know as well, soon enough. He followed Harry's lead and went back to the room.
After a few moments, Ginny looked back at Draco. And gave him an assuring smile and spoke softly, "They're not ready to know now."
"I know, but it makes it more difficult without them knowing." Ginny put a more serious face on and walked into the room and put her hand on the door.
"I think it's time for you to go now..." she whispered.
Draco nodded understandingly, and walked off down the hall, away from The Leaky Cauldron. Ginny shut the door, and faced Harry and Ron, who were both sitting on the couch across from the beds.
"Ginny," Ron started, "we need to talk."
Author notes: What is the reason for all the secrecy? What the heck is the crystal? What does this all have to do with Ginny & Draco? Well, most of it is answered in this chapter...
