Chapter Two: Another Day

"Morning," a soft sleep roughened voice greeted Sirius.

He stiffened as he looked up, flipping a stray hair out of his boyish looking face. "Morning."

Hermione sighed. She knew why he spoke so stiffly. She'd practically thrown herself on him, just like a stupid schoolgirl. God how she felt rotten after she had had time to think about what she did. He probably thought her a raving hormonal lunatic. It wasn't how Hermione wanted Sirius to look at her, worrying when she'd go into another sex-crazed rant, but she needed...something. Her whole world had come crashing down within two hours. She wasn't using it as an excuse, well she was, a big portion of it, but the other portion was her attraction to her best friends guardian.

"Sirius I'm sorry okay!" Hermione groaned out when he continued to stare at her disapprovingly.

Her cheeks reddened in embarrassment. Hermione's favorite thing would consist of never having to be this humiliated again. The redness in her cheeks was spreading as he continued to analyze her expressions and her stance. With her heart plummeting to her stomach she watched as Sirius glared and turned his head back to his newspaper and Irish cream coffee.

"I deserve that. Mind if I sit down?" Hermione asked.

She stood there, waiting for a response, but when none came she walked heavily to the chair opposite Sirius, plopped down, hunched her back, and put on her puppy dogface. After about ten minutes of puppy dogface she managed to get his attention, but when he looked at her she felt that red splash of a blush creep up into her face and she looked down.

"Would you please stop?"

Twirling her hands nervously Hermione looked up at him. "Are you mad at me?"

"I'm not certain," was all he said and went back to reading.

"Well just talk to me then. I mean if you aren't certain and all. Find out."

"What is this constant need of yours to talk. I'm perfectly content keeping to myself. Silence needs to be enjoyed when given."

Hermione lifted her head up. "But why? It's boring and I happen to be bored so I'm going to make you talk to me or I'll do something rash."

Sirius eyes pierced the crown of Hermione's head. What's the matter with this girl? One minute she's all hot and heavy, the next minute she's apologetic and chatty. She was giving him hot flashes then giving him a pounding migraine.

"So, there's a pool in this house somewhere right? I mean it's pretty big, down stairs anyway?"

Remus and Harry had made it look like a small cabin when they built it with their magic, but made the basement humungous. Complete with the latest edition of Muggle supplies and an Olympic sized swimming pool.

"Yes. I suppose Harry mentioned that it was Olympic sized?" Sirius said distractedly.

"So you want to go?"

Sirius lifted his eyebrow up and 'hmmed' "No, I do my nightly swims."

"Like exercise swim? Haven't you ever heard of Marco Polo?"

"Marco who? Does he go to Hogwarts?"

Hermione rolled her eyes. "It's a water game genius."

"A muggle water game let me guess?" Sirius spoke sarcastically.

Hermione ignored it and smiled. "You've guessed correctly."

Suddenly a bag of clothes dropped onto the table. Unfortunately it wasn't zipped up and a pair of Hermione's Mickey Mouse underwear showed its face on top.

Sirius grinned and shook his head.

"Opps," was all a sputtering Hermione could get out.

"Cute underwear," was all Sirius said and went back to reading.

"Thanks," Hermione paused looking at the floor. "What are we going to do all day?"

Hermione got up and to turn on the radio.

Beep, beep, beep.

"What is that obnoxious noise?" Sirius complained.

"It's the radio," Hermione frowned as she walked over to the radio that had been on.

"A blizzard has been issued for..." the radio spokesman informed.

"Oh no, that's us!"

Sirius glanced up. "What?"

"That blizzard that's coming will be right in the middle of it. We'll be stuck in here."

"Shit, and we aren't able to use our powers in another...30 MINUTES?"

"What are we going too do?" Hermione cried.

"Well we need to get Remus here. If our water pipes freeze...we only have a weeks worth of food. There's a super market at the other end of town. We need to get food."

"Idea! You summon the food, I'll get Remus."

Ten minutes later...

"Hermione, I got the food, did you get Remus?"

Hermione sighed heavily. "No. I got him for like a second and the connection was broken."

"Times up. Time ran out. It's not a big deal. I got the food just in time. Two months supply."

Hermione looked at her hands. "I'm sorry."

Sirius glanced up a stray piece of his midnight black hair draped over his eyes. He walked over brought his hands up and embraced each side of Hermione's face. He gently ran the pad of his thumb over her cheek. "Hermione it's not your fault. Okay?"

Hermione lifted her eyes up.

The deep brown innocent look of them took Sirius breath away. He leaned forward and inhaled her scent deeply. He leaned forward more.

~What the hell am I doing? ~

Sirius jerked back, but before he could retreat Hermione jerked his head back bringing his lips to hers.

She had expected him to put up a fight but all he did was groan and bring her body closer to him. Sirius pushed her towards the kitchen wall, bringing their bodies even closer. Sirius slipped his agile tongue into her mouth caressing.

Breathing heavily, Sirius tore his mouth away and started trailing kisses down her throat.

"Oh, yes, Sirius," Hermione groaned.

It must have been her groan of pleasure, or her calling him by his name, that snapped him out. He pulled away from her and pushed her against the wall, away from him.

"That was a mistake," Sirius said.

"No Si..."

"No Hermione it was mistake," he yelled at her and started walking away.

Hermione's eyes filled with tears. "I won't give up! I know now that you want me. Plan on feeling like a hormonal teenager for time that we are here. I won't give up because I want you so bad."

Sirius half turned, glared, shook his head in shock, and stormed downstairs.

"You'll be mine before we leave here," Hermione promised herself.

Her eyes never left his back.
