Author's Note:
Here's the long awaited chapter two of 'Do All Things Happen For a Reason?'!!! Hope you enjoy!!

"Oh-My-God," James said, clearly to shocked to say anything else.

"What's he doing up this late? It's nearly three in the morning!" said Remus.

"Well let's go see," said Sirius, walking over and looking over the boys shoulder. " 'Harry Potter, September third, nineteen ninety five, DADA homework'. "

James, Lily, and Remus all crowded around the small sofa Harry was sitting at and looked at him.

"Wow. He does look a lot like you, James," Lily whispered in awe.

"Yea," James agreed.

"Hey, look at this," Sirius said, picking up a letter and opening it up.

"Who's it from?" asked James.

"It-It's from m-me," Sirius replied, looking at the letter in wonder.

"Well, read it! I want to know what kind of influence you have on my son," James said, a good-natured grin spreading across his face. Sirius cleared his throat dramatically (causing the others to roll there eyes) and began to read:

Hi Harry!

Just wanted to check up on you and see if you were okay. Please tell me there is no mysteries at Hogwarts this year? If there is DON'T GO LOOKING FOR TROUBLE! You have a knack for finding trouble (like your father) and half of the time you always end up getting nearly killed! If something ever happened to you, Harry, I would never forgive myself. On a happier note, I'm coming to Hogwarts for a while so we can talk then.

See you soon,

Padfoot

P.S. Beat those stinking Slytherins at the Quidditch match!

"That was so... serious," said Lily. Sirius just nodded, too shocked to even make a joke about the pun.

"Something really bad must have happened to me to make me like this," he said.

"You're not all that serious, see?" James said, pointing to the 'P.S.' "You still want to beat the Slytherins at Quidditch." Everyone laughed.

Somewhere in the common room a clock struck three and Harry looked up, and deciding it was time to go to bed he gathered his things and walked up to the boys dorm.

But in that moment that he looked up, Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus got a look at his eyes. His beautiful emerald green eyes. All eyes were on Lily, whose mouth was slightly parted in shock, and Sirius' smirk grew even wider.

"Well, well, well. T.L., have you got some juicy information to share with us?" Sirius asked, still smirking evilly.

"No!" She said, as her and James' faces turned a deep red.

"Are you sure?" asked Remus joining in on torturing Lily and James. "What about you, Prongs? Got some info for us?"

"Shut up you two!" James said hitting them across the head.

"Ouch! Okay. Okay," said Sirius rubbing his head.

"Anyway, we have to find somewhere to sleep tonight," Said Lily, obviously trying to change the subject.

"There's always that abandoned room we found? The only problem is we don't know if it's still abandoned," said Sirius.

"Well we'll just have to find out, won't we?" Said Remus heading for the portrait hole.

The room Remus had been talking about was indeed still abandoned so they slept there for the rest of the night.

When they got up in the morning they all went down to the Great Hall together. When they got there the first person they saw was Harry and a red-haired boy and a bushy haired girl sitting at Gryffindor table eating breakfast. They all walked over to see what they were talking about.

"I don't see what your so worried about, Harry, Slytherin's a pushover," the red-haired boy was saying.

"I'm not worried about the game, Ron," said Harry, trying to lie and failing miserably.

"Sure, and Wormtail didn't get Sirius put in Azkaban for twelve years," Ron said sarcastically.

At this everyone who was invisible because of the Ignore Us Charm gasped in surprised. Sirius started to sway on the spot before Remus gripped his shoulder to steady him. They noticed that the bushy haired girl was speaking.

"That's not funny one bit, Ron!" she said sharply, as Harry sent him a dirty look.

"Calm down Hermione, I'm just stating mere facts. Anyway, why are you so worked up, Harry? I mean it's just another Quidditch match. You've never lost a match, why should you be worried?"

"Correction: I've lost one match, and I'm worried this time because they've been practicing really hard and you know they would do anything to win," he said, playing with the food on his plate.

"Alright so you lost one match, but it's only one match Harry, get over it! You're the youngest seeker in a century, you faced You-Know-Who in battle four times and always managed to come back alive, and you helped prove Sirius was innocent to Dumbledore! And your worried about a little Quidditch match? Harry, what has gotten into you?" Ron said, losing his temper. "And besides," he added after he had cooled down. "Sirius and Professor Lupin will be there, so if those sticking Slytherins try anything we have a teacher and an escaped convict on our side."

The Marauders and Lily, who had been listening in stunned silence, started laughing hysterically (minus Remus) at the saying of 'Professor Lupin'. Sirius only managed a weak chuckle, as he was still shocked at the news about himself. They quickly shut up, wanting to hear the rest of the conversation.

Harry and Hermione were looking at Ron, shocked at his sudden outburst and then calming down so fast.

"I-I'm sorry," Harry said, looking down at his feet. "I guess your right. I wasn't thinking properly."

(A/N: The Great Hall is now full of students and the mail should be arriving soon, if you wanted to know ;-])

"You never think 'properly', Potter," came a sneering voice from behind them.

Lily and The Marauders jumped and whirled around at the sound of the sneering voice. They all gasped in surprise, and James looked ready to kill.

"Looks like Malfoy had a kid, too," Sirius said, looking at the carbon copy of Lucius Malfoy, one of their worst enemies. They started listening intently again, wanting to hear the argument.

"Shut up, Malfoy. I'm not in the mood to argue right now," said Harry, turning around to face him.

"Oh? But I am, Potter," Malfoy said, still sneering. "But, I suppose a halfblood like you wouldn't be able to come up with a proper insult."

"But you don't need to be insulted, Malfoy," said Harry coolly, surprising everyone who was listening. "Because your already an insult to your self."

Everyone who was listening started laughing, and Malfoy's sneer was replaced with a look of pure fury. And then Malfoy's smirk returned and everyone knew he had another insult to throw at Harry, and judging by the look in his eye they knew that whatever he said next would make Harry's temper flare.

"You know, Potter, your mother must have been very glad to get rid of you when she died," Malfoy said maliciously, making everyone gasp.

Lily started swaying on the spot, just as Sirius had done, before James held her in his arms so she wouldn't faint or something.

Harry jumped up and grabbed Malfoy by the front of his robes and pushed him up against the wall, "What did you say?!" he said in a dangerously low voice.

Malfoy, though he looked slightly panicked, responded in the same cool and calm tone, "You heard me, Potter."

"Don't you ever talk about my mother like that again, or I'll put the Cruciatus Curse on you and watch you writhe in pain and laugh! Do you understand?" Harry looked so mad that no one dared argue with him not even Malfoy, for everyone knew what Harry was capable of.

Malfoy nodded weakly, and Harry let him slide to the floor and scurry back to the Slytherin table. Everyone was looking at Harry in shock. He had been mad with people before, but never, never, had he threatened them with an Unforgivable Curse.

Harry turned to Ron and Hermione, "I'm going to get my broom. I'll see you guys later, okay?" they nodded.

"Lily, James, you follow Harry and we'll stay here and follow these two," said Remus gesturing toward Ron and Hermione. James and Lily nodded and followed Harry out of the Great Hall. (A/N: I was typing 'Great Hall' before and I accidentally put 'Great Hell' lol)

Remus and Sirius turned back to Ron and Hermione when they noticed Ron was speaking.

"Well, Harry won't let Malfoy catch the snitch now," he said, starting to eat his food again.

"Oh, Ron, your impossible!" Hermione said, as the owls began to fly in. Hedwig landed next to Harry's plate with a letter tied to her leg.

"Oh Hedwig, Harry just left, he went to get ready for the match. Do you want me to take the letter for him, or do you want to catch up with him?" Ron asked the owl, as if he were talking to a person. Hedwig ruffled her feathers, obviously trying to tell him something, but what, Remus and Sirius didn't know. Obviously Ron did though, because he replied, "Oh alright, well he should be heading for Gryffindor tower then." Hedwig nipped Ron's finger in thanks, spread her wings, and soured out of the Great Hall. Hermione was looking at Ron, her mouth agape. "What?"

"How you and Harry understand that bird is beyond me," she said still looking at Ron in wonder.

"Years of practice," He replied grinning at her.

Harry had just reached the Gryffindor portrait hole, and was about to give the Fat Lady the password when she decided to have a little chat with him.

"Why so gloomy, dear? I thought you had a Quidditch match today?" she said.

"We do, I just got in a little fight at breakfast, and I guess it sort of put me in bad spirits," he replied looking at the floor.

"Oh I'm sorry, dear. What was the fight about?" she asked, obviously getting curios.

Harry looked up sharply, and Lily and James could tell he was doing some quick thinking trying to change the subject.

"Well, you know, just the usual Gryffindor and Slytherin feuds," he said, trying to sound casual, but James and Lily noticed how choked his voice sounded.

"Well, alright then, I should let you in, shouldn't I? Password?" she asked.

"Crystal Roses," he said, and the portrait swung forward to admit him.

He stepped inside and headed up to the boys dorm with Lily and James right behind him.

When Harry was in the Boys dorm, he walked over to his trunk and opened it up looking for his broom. He moved aside the invisibility cloak to reveal his broom, a Firebolt. He reached down to pick it up when his hand bumped against something else. He took the invisibility cloak out completely this time to see what it was. It was a large leather-bound book. Harry picked it up and started to look through it. James and Lily couldn't see what was in the book, because Harry's back was turned to them. Harry closed the book and laid it gently on his bed, then turned to pick up his broom. He turned to leave (and both Lily and James were startled to see unshed tears in his eyes), but was stopped as a snowy owl swooped in through the open window.

"Oh, hello Hedwig. What's that, you got there?" He said, as he untied the letter from her leg. Hedwig just hooted, nipped his finger affectionately, and flew back out the opened window. Harry shrugged and opened the letter. As he read the letter he got paler and paler.

"He looks like he's seen a ghost," said Lily, walking over and picking up the leather-bound book.(A/N: If you're under the Ignore Us Charm, and you pick something up, it automatically turns invisible ;-]) James came over to look at the book as well.

"Oh...," said Lily in a small voice, when she turned to the first page. There was James and her, and in between them was a tiny baby boy who only looked a few weeks old. James squeezed her shoulder gently and then kissed her cheek. They closed the book and placed it back down on the bed. Harry was still looking at the letter, but it looked as if some of the color had come back to his face. He put the letter in his robe pocket and stood up and walked out the door, James and Lily following.

He walked out of the portrait whole and was making his way down to the Great Hall when someone (who sounded oddly familiar to James and Lily) called his name from inside a classroom.

"Harry?" Harry doubled back and went inside the classroom. When Harry entered, the door closed behind him magically. (Lily and James got in though) Who they saw shocked them. It was Remus and Sirius! Only they looked so old. Sirius looked like he had been through hell, and Remus had flecks of gray in his hair!

"Hello Harry," said Sirius, coming over and hugging him. When they pulled away Remus came over and did the same.

"Are you ready to beat the Slytherins, Harry? Not that I'm supposed to take sides as a teacher," Remus said. Sirius and Harry grinned at him.

"Yup," he said. "I'm not going to let those Slytherins win!"

Remus and Sirius grinned at him, but Remus' grin quickly faded and he sighed while looking at Harry, "What's the matter, Professor?"

"I heard about your fight with Draco this morning, Harry," He stated simply, looking him in the eye. Harry avoided his eyes and looked down at the floor.

"What fight?" asked Sirius, looking between the two, obviously clueless.

Remus sighed and started explaining, "Draco was saying something about - about Lily, and Harry got a bit...upset."

"What did that git say about Lily?" Sirius said angrily, turning to look at Harry, who was still looking at the floor. Harry mumbled something that Sirius, Lily and James (not that Lily and James needed to) couldn't hear, but Remus, being a werewolf, had excellent hearing.

"He said WHAT!" said Remus, looking completely murderous. Harry just nodded his head while Sirius still looked confused. Remus calmed down enough to whisper what Malfoy had said into Sirius' ear. When he was done Sirius looked angrier then even Remus had.

"Why that no good, rotten, Slytherin! When I get my hands on him - ," he was cut off by Remus, who had calmed down by now.

"You won't do anything Padfoot. Do you want to go back to Azkaban?" Sirius paled dramatically at this and shook his head weakly. Lily and James had never seen Sirius shut up this quickly! Usually he would keep going until he got his point across.

"Don't worry Sirius, I handled it," said Harry. Sirius looked at him suspiciously.

"What, exactly, did you do?" he asked. Remus snorted and Harry could feel his cheeks getting hot.

Harry looked at his wrist as though there was a watch on it (which there wasn't), and said, "Oh! Look at the time! I got a game to go to, so I guess I'll see you guys later," and turned to the door, but Sirius got there first and blocked the way.

"No way Harry. Your game doesn't start for another hour, and you still haven't told me what you did," said Sirius sternly, looking as if he were a father scolding a young child. Harry sighed and turned to Remus with a pleading look. James and Lily thought this was quite funny. Apparently so did Remus, who chuckled a bit.

"I'm sorry Harry," he said, still looking amused Harry slowly turned back to Sirius, who he could tell was trying hard not to laugh.

"I told him that if he ever said anything like that again, that I would put him under the Cruciatus Curse," Harry said, looking at the floor. Sirius' amused look vanished, and was placed by a look of utter shock.

"Harry!" Said Sirius in a shocked but gentle tone. He kneeled down so his face was level with Harry's and put his hands on the boy's shoulders so he was forced to look into Sirius' eyes. "I'm not saying you shouldn't defend yourself, Harry, but threatening someone with an Unforgivable Curse is just as bad as actually using one. If Malfoy had gone to Snape instead of Remus, you would have been expelled, Harry!" Judging by the look on Harry's face he obviously hadn't thought about that.

And at the mention of 'Snape' and 'expelled' Lily and James looked at each other, clearly horrified that Snape had become a teacher and had the power to expel their son.

"I'm sorry. I just said the first thing that came into my mind," said Harry, looking at the floor again.

"It's okay. I understand," said Sirius pulling him into a hug. When they pulled away Sirius said, "What do you say us three catch up a bit until the match?" (A/N: I didn't mean that in a bad way. I meant it as in TALKING! Gosh...you sicko's)

"Did you hear about that new girl coming tomorrow from the states?" Remus asked Harry.

"Katrina Smith,"(A/N: Jessi's probably laughing her head off now. It's an inside joke) Sirius said.

"She used to live in London, right?" asked Harry

"How did you know that?" asked Remus suspiciously. "Have you been wondering the castle with your father's Cloak again?"

"Of course I have, but that's not how I know," Harry answered with a mysterious grin.

"Well, then, tell us!" said Sirius, sounding a bit impatient.

"I knew because, when Kat and I were younger we went to the same muggle school, before she moved away when we were seven. She was my best and only friend. Anyway I got a letter from her this morning," takes out the letter, "explaining that she was a muggle-born witch and was moving back to London and was going to be enrolled as a fifth year at Hogwarts."

Remus and Sirius were staring at Harry very surprised. Remus took the letter from Harry and scanned it and when he got to the bottom he doubled over in laughter. Sirius snatched the letter from him, read it, and doubled over in laughter just like Remus. Harry, James, and Lily looked between the two in confusion(though, no one could see James and Lily).

"What's so funny?" asked Harry, when the other two had calmed down. Sirius cleared his throat dramatically (da ja vou) and started to read the letter:

Dear Harry,

This is Kat. Do you remember me? I hope you do. Anyway I wanted to tell you I'm moving back to London and I'm going to be a fifth year at Hogwarts, just like you!(I'm muggle-born in case your wondering) I don't know that much about the school so maybe you could show me around this weekend or something. I've missed you very much and I can't wait to see you again.

Love,

Kat

"Love, Harry?" Sirius asked with raised eyebrows.

"Oh come on, she's my best friend! She didn't mean it that way!" exclaimed Harry, at the laughing adults.

"You forget, Harry," said Remus. "That we had to grow up with your parents."

Harry just rolled his eyes as Sirius started cracking up again. Of course, no one noticed invisible Lily and James making out in the corner of the room.
