Harry Potter and the Author Who Ruined Everything

Chapter 2- Loyalty over Bravery *sob*

Hermione had frozen. I waved a hand in front of her face, and deeming her now useless, I turned to the next intelligent being. No, not Harry. (Ha!)

"It's not that hard," she said, not unkindly. I grinned. Now this was encouraging.

"Show me!!" I screamed. "Please?" I added when she looked annoyed.

"Okay," she sighed. "You'll need a trolley."

I ogled her. "What?!"

"You need a trolley."

I smacked a hand to my forehead. A bit too dramatic? Ah, well!

"Duh! Gawd, I can be dense sometimes!"

"You're not gonna be a Ravenclaw, then!" Harry laughed.

Me and Ginny rolled our eyes.

"Come on, that was funny! Eh? Eh? EH?"

I sighed. It was going to be a long day.

Once I had loaded my trunk onto a trolley, I aimed it at the wall like Ginny had shown me. I ran as fast as I dared in the direction Ron had previously, quickly followed by Ginny, a moody Harry and a still dazed Hermione.

I had arrived. Platform 9 3/4. It. Was. Amazing.

The Hogwarts Express in itself was extraordinary. It was a magnificent sight. If you're interested in that sort of thing. Which I'm not. Which is why that's all you're going to get!

I boarded the train with the others. We found Ron in an empty compartment. (Other than himself, of course!)

I said next to Ron and immediately blurted out: "I'm sorry Ron! I realise we've only just met and I was way over the top, but..."

Thankfully he stopped me before I could embarrass myself with the rest of my speech.

"No worries," he said, loudly.

I smiled at him, sheepishly. Hermione frowned at me.

"I get the feeling she doesn't like me," I whispered to Ginny, who didn't deny it. Instead she nodded and closed her eyes. Maybe she had a headache. I laughed softly.

"So, Aimy, how about you answer those questions?"

I glared at Hermione, who glared straight back. "Fine," I muttered.

"You see, although I am Muggle-born..."

Hermione perked up the second I mentioned that. "Me too!" she squealed.

"Really?" I said, thoroughly uninterested. I already knew that.

Luckily (Though NOT for my ears) Hermione launched into her life story, of all things, so I was able to avoid the questions. Once again.

An hour or two later, and we had arrived at Hogwarts.

I had no idea what to expect, so when McGonagall sought me out, I was relieved. That didn't last long however, as relief was placed with a feeling of dread when she opened her mouth.

"Please follow me. It is time for your sorting!" she announced.

I groaned but followed.

Once the First years had all been sorted (Young, James, RAVENCLAW!) it was my turn to sit on the stool and shove the dreaded Sorting Hat on my head.

"Oh, my!" Drawled the voice of the hat in my head. "What a pickle... Where to put you? Where, indeed?"

I waited as patiently as I could.

"You're not cunning... rarely ambitious... NOT Slytherin..."

I breathed out a sigh of relief, though I was slightly offended at being cast as having no "ambition."

"You're fairly bright... but NOT Ravenclaw..."

I shrugged.

"Gryffindor? Hmmm..."

I squirmed, excitedly.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"
