Chap 1- Conquering the Wall of Fear

Never before had a brick wall been so intimidating. I regarded the wall between platforms nine and ten with terrifying anticipation. My eyes narrowed and my mouth twisted into a line of pure determination. It was time to conquer my fears.

Gripping my trunk in one hand and 12.5" yew, dragon heartstring wand in the other, I squeezed my eyes shut and walked purposely into the wall.

"OW!" I cried, landing with a bump on the floor. "Why me? Why? WHY?!?!!!!"

A snigger behind me made me jump up and whip around. I angrily pointed my wand at the base of the intruder's throat. It was pushed away impatiently by a blonde haired boy with grey eyes. I gulped.

"D-Draco M-M-Malfoy!" I stammered, my face bright red. He sneered and crossed his arms.

"So you know who I am, do you? I'm not surprised, I am a Malfoy, after all. But who are you?"

He peered down his nose at me in a very snooty way. I quickly recovered. "I'm Aimy. I'm new," I began to explain, but he waved his hand dismissively.

"New? Humph. Well, you're not eleven!"

"Well, thank you for pointing out the obvious! I'm sixteen!"

Draco rolled his eyes. "Oh, joy. You're a sixth year. Like me."

"Uh-huh," I said, as I couldn't think of anything else to say.

"Why are you new, then? Have you transferred from somewhere?"

I bit my lip. Should I tell him the truth? Well, if I want to be a Gryffindor, I have to be truthful, don't I?

"Not exactly. I'm... Muggle-born..."

I stopped when I saw Draco's look of disgust. "Mudblood," he spat, before storming through the wall. I groaned.

It was very tempting to sink to the floor for a good cry, but before I had the chance, a group of four other teenagers approached. I eyed them with sudden enthusiasm.

"Harry Potter! Hermione Granger! Ron and Ginny Weasley!"

They looked at me in surprise but murmured greetings. I squealed. Yes, really. Grabbing the nearest body to me, who just so happened to be Ron, I pulled him into a rib breaking hug. His face coloured. The others looked a bit scared.

"Who are you?" demanded Hermione. Was it just me or did she sound jealous? I let go of Ron and entertained the idea of hugging her too. Sensing a bad vibe from her, I decided against it.

"I'm sorry. I'm Aimy. I'm new. I get over excited sometimes" I babbled.

Hermione raised an eyebrow. I giggled.

"That doesn't explain you knowing who we are!" said Ginny, eyeing me warily.

"Or why you hugged Ron," Harry chipped in, grinning. Ron hid his face in his hands. "Oh," I said in reply. "Can you just show me how to get through this thing first?!"

The trio (and Ginny) stared at me. I stared back. "What?!"

Ron flinched away from me. I was hurt. Truly, hurt. How dare he?! After all I've done for him! (Sob) Harry patted his shoulder, in what I suppose was supposed to be comforting, but didn't seem to have the desired effect. Ron shrugged Harry off and pushed his trolley through the wall. I growled.

"How did he do that?!!" I hissed.
