CHAPTER 9

Draco led them through a series of narrow hallways and flights of stairs, until they reached what looked like a common room. The common room was very cold and poorly lit. Harry thought back to when he and Ron went into the Slytherin common room as Crabbe and Goyle. He had thought that the Slytherin common room was bad, but this room made Slytherin look like a cozy tearoom.

Draco took them up another flight of steep stairs into the corridor where his room was. He let them into the room and shut the door quickly.

Draco’s room was fairly large, and to Harry’s surprise, well decorated. Harry pulled off the Invisibility Cloak and hung it off the back of a chair.

"Well, er, there aren’t any extra beds in here, so one of you can sleep on the sofa, one of you can have the arm chair and...." Draco cleared his throat loudly. "And one of you may sleep on the other half of my bed with me," Draco said quickly. "I also have my own bathroom, so if you feel that is it absolutely necessary for you to take a shower, you may."

"Thank you Draco!" Ginny said as she went to give Draco a hug. Draco didn’t back away as Ginny put her arms around his neck. He just rolled his eyes, shook his head and put his arms lightly around her waist.

Once Ginny had let go of Draco, he walked to the closet to grab his pajamas and then walked to the bathroom to take a shower.

When they heard the water running for the shower, they decided that it would be okay to talk softly.

"I am not sleeping in the same bed as Draco Malfoy!" Ron exclaimed.

"Awww, Ron doesn’t want Draco’s cold feet to touch him in the middle of the night," Ginny teased.

Ron scowled. "Ginny, since you’re the only girl, YOU should share the bed with him."

"I can’t sleep in the bed with him!" Ginny said angrily. "What would Hermione think?"

"Hermione doesn’t like Draco, so she wouldn’t care one way of the other," Harry retorted.

"As a matter of fact, she does like him. While you two were fussing with the cloak, I turned around and saw Draco kissing Hermione," Ginny answered in a know-all tone.

Harry’s mouth hung open. "Draco kissed Hermione? Hermione let Draco kiss her?"

Ron looked towards Ginny in disbelief. "Ginny, I don’t think that Draco would like another boy sleeping in his bed, so you are going to have to do it. Think of it this way, you get to sleep in a real bed, even if you are sharing it with Draco Malfoy."

Ginny opened her mouth to protest, but instead nodded. She walked into Draco’s deep closet and emerged few minutes later with a pair of deep purple satin pajamas.

"Rather feminine, don’t you think?" she said as Ron and Harry laughed.

Ginny walked back into the closet. She came out wearing the purple pajamas and carrying two blankets.

She had just handed a blanket to Ron and Harry when Draco came out of the bathroom. Ginny couldn’t contain her giggles. Draco was wearing a pair of flannel pajamas with a pattern of little red airplanes on them. His normally slicked back hair was wet and untidy.

"What are you laughing at?" Draco said loudly. "And why are you wearing my pajamas?"

Ginny was laughing so hard now that she was using her sleeve to wipe tears from her eyes.

"Whatever. Have you figured out who is sleeping where?" Draco asked.

"Harry is sleeping on the sofa, and I’m taking the arm chair. Ginny will sleep in your bed," Ron answered.

"Fine. I see that you already have blankets," Draco said while looking at the blankets that Ron and harry had. He walked over to Ron and pulled the blanket out of his arms.

"Hey!" Ron exclaimed. The blanket that Ron had was a fuzzy blue blanket with white clouds on it.

"You can’t have this one," Draco said. He stalked back to the closet and came out with a large black velvet blanket that had a gold "M" on it. "Here, use this one." He threw the blanket at Ron.

Draco yawned. "I’m tired, so let’s go to bed."

Harry went and positioned himself on the sofa, while Ron curled up in the armchair. Draco took the blanket and crawled into bed next to Ginny. He took his wand off the bed stand and with an easy spell, he turned the lights out.
