CHAPTER 4

While the rest of the school went to the feast, Harry, Ron and Ginny walked quietly to the Gryffindor common room. Since Harry had talked to Hermione about a week earlier, she was beaming about being a prefect and ran through a list of all the things she had to remember, including the password to get into the dormitory.

“Oh, and I have to remember the password! Ostrich feather! Ostrich feather! Ostrich feather!” Hermione had said in a singsong voice.

Harry shook his head and closed his eyes tightly. It hurt to think about Hermione and what the people at Durmstrang could be doing to her.

“Harry? Are you all right? Do you still want to do this?” Ginny laid her hand on Harry’s arm and gave it a squeeze.

“I’m alright, Let’s do this.” Harry responded. They had reached the entrance into the Gryffindor dormitories, and Harry softly called out the password. “Ostrich feather.”

The large picture covering the entrance swung open and Harry, Ron and Ginny walked in.

The three students stood in front of the large fire as Ginny pulled the purple bag of Floo Powder from under her robe.

As she scooped out Floo Powder for each of them, she reminded them of how to use Floo Powder.

“You have to say Durmstrang School for the Dark Arts as you walk into the fire. If you just say Durmstrang, you’ll end up in a pub about 2 kilometers away from the school,” Ginny said in a scholarly tone.

“Get on with it, Ginny! We’ve used this a hundred times. Let’s just go!” Ron said impatiently.

“Well, if you’re in such a rush, you can go first,” Ginny said angrily.

“Fine.” Ron threw the Floo Powder into the fire and then stepped into it.

“Durmstrang School for the Dark Arts!” he called out. Then he was gone.

Ginny then went. “Durmstrang School for the Dark Arts!” she shouted, and the disappeared.

Harry was the last to go. He made sure to enunciate his words this time. Harry had already experienced going to the wrong place because he didn’t say his words clear enough.

“Durmstrang School for the Dark Arts!” he said slowly as he walked into the fire.

CHAPTER 5

As Draco stood up after dinner, Elin came up behind him and said, “We go to the secret place now. Follow me.”

Draco was very scared as Elin lead him out of the Great Hall. He heard a loud shrill and suddenly began to shake.

“We’re going to the secret place, Draco!” Beykka squealed as she and Careuh ran up to Draco and grabbed each of his hands.

“I’m so excited, aren’t you?” Careuh said as she squeezed Draco’s hand and put her head on his shoulder.

“Yeah, this is going to be so much fun!” Beykka answered as she moved closer to Draco.

“Ya, fun times! It’s going to be great to…”

Draco interrupted Careuh mid-thought. “WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING?” He yelled.

Beykka and Careuh looked stunned. “Draco Thomas Malfoy, how dare you talk to us in that tone! Who do you think you are?” Beykka said in a stern maternal voice.

Draco quickly whipped out his wand and shouted, “Temperano Zipperae!” Beykka and Careuh both found that their lips were stuck together.

“Yrrrrr bbrrrrr guh tuh uffff!” was all Careuh managed to get out.

“Shut up, you fool! I am not your friend, let alone your boyfriend! You have no right to come up and touch me like that! I am here to save my friend Hermione and I don’t need you getting in my way!”

Draco knew that he said too much. He looked around to see if Elin was close enough to hear. Luckily, Elin was at least twenty meters ahead, de-activating spells and enchantments.

“Fail Memero!” Draco said. This was a spell that his father taught him when he was a child. It would erase the last thing a person said to them from their memory.

“Petrificus Totalus!” Both girls went stiff as boards and fell over backwards. The only thing that was moving on their bodies was their eyes. Draco could see the look of horror in their eyes, and he had to laugh.

“That’s what you get for being annoying little twits!” Draco said with an evil giggle.

Elin looked back and called to Draco, “Master Malfoy! The doors to the prisoner’s chambers are open! Come quickly!”

Draco’s body turned as cold as ice. He felt like his legs were blocked to the floor. He took a few deep breaths and walked to Elin.

“Master Malfoy, inside this chamber holds our mudblood for killing. We will spend several days torturing her, then you will kill her,” Elin explained.

“Me? I’m supposed to kill her?” Draco said with surprise. “I didn’t know that I was to kill her!”

“Well, you know now. As a Malfoy, I trust that you can structure your own killing method,” Elin replied.

Draco felt as if he were going to be sick. He managed to nod and then Elin led him through the opening into the chamber.
