More Malfoy

CHAPTER 3

Harry, Ron and Hermione were so deeply engaged in conversation about the strange girl standing in the back that they talked right through the beginning of Professor Dumbledore’s speech. They stopped their talking when the girl from the back began to walk up to the front of the room.

“I would like to introduce Miss Denna Malfoy,” Dumbledore said.

Ron sat there, staring at her with his mouth hanging open. Hermione gasped and Harry just closed his eyes.

“Miss Malfoy has been sorted separately, and will be a member of Slytherin house,” Dumbledore continued.

“I can’t bloody believe it,” Ron finally said, breaking the silence between the three. “I just can’t believe it! Malfoy is all that this school can handle, and now we have even MORE Malfoy to make the school year a living nightmare!” Ron shouted.

“Now, now, Ron, maybe she isn’t like Malfoy, er, Draco. Maybe she’s different,” Hermione said in a calming voice.

“Different? How could she be different? She’s related to Draco Malfoy, Scum of the Universe! She’s probably just as rotten as he is, and, not to mention, she’s also in Slytherin!” Ron said angrily. “And why are you defending her? Don’t you remember what Draco calls you? I am pretty sure that if they are related, she will call you the same name!”

Hermione’s eyes narrowed. “I’m just trying to get you to calm down,” she said, through clenched teeth.

Harry still sat there with a look of disbelief on his face.

“I hope we don’t have any double classes with the Slytherins,” Harry finally said.

“I think we do,” replied Hermione, as she pulled a neatly folded schedule from her robe pocket. “We do, and it’s Potions.”

“Great! Just one more reason for Snape to favor the Slytherins and one more reason for him to torture us!” Ron exclaimed.

Harry just could not believe what was happening. Was Denna Draco’s sister? If so, how are they the same year? Harry’s mind was spinning with questions. I hope that Hermione is right, and that Denna is different than Draco. Harry thought. She must be different than Draco, if she wasn’t, why wasn’t she at Hogwarts as a First Year student?

“Ron,” Harry said. “Why would Draco come to Hogwarts, and Denna go to Beauxbatons?”

“Well, maybe she’s just his cousin or something,” Ron answered in between sips of pumpkin juice. “I’m hoping that she’s just his cousin. Having two Dracos around would be a nightmare!”

Hermione shook her head and smiled.

“What?” Ron asked.

“You said that earlier. I think we’ve gotten the point!” Hermione replied.

Ron blushed. “Sorry,” he apologized. “I’m just a little nervous right now, that’s all. The thought of having another Malfoy just creeps me out.”

Harry, who was paying no attention to Ron, stared towards the Slytherin table. As he looked at Denna more, he noticed more of a “Malfoy” look to her.

“I think that’s his sister,” Harry said, not bothering to turn around.

“How can you tell, Harry?” Hermione asked.

“I don’t know, but she looks so much like Draco. It’s rare to see cousins look that much alike,” Harry responded.

She’s quite attractive, Harry thought. NO! You can’t think that! She’s a Malfoy! She’s related to the enemy! Harry immediately shook those thoughts from his mind and turned around.
