CHAPTER 1

It was a typical First Day Feast at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry looked around, watching the students at the other tables talk and laugh. In the middle of all this noise, Professor McGonagall had brought a new group of first year students to the front of the Great Hall to be sorted. It was Harry, Ron and Hermione's sixth year at Hogwarts, yet they never got tired of watching the Sorting. They clapped as several new Gryffindors joined their table. Once the sorting was finished, Ron and Hermione eagerly waited for the food to appear. Harry, on the other hand, was focusing on something else.

A girl that Harry didn't recognize was walking into the Great Hall. She had long, shimmering white-blonde hair, and even from where Harry was sitting, he could see her piercing blue eyes. She looked too old to be a first year.

Harry turned to Ron and tapped him. "Ron, look at that girl."

Ron turned to look. "Wow, Harry, she looks like a Veela. She almost looks like Fleur."

Fleur Delacour was one of the Tri-Wizard Champions during fourth year. She was a beautiful French girl who was part Veela.

"Well, it can't be Fleur, she has graduated already," Harry explained.

"Maybe it's Fleur's little sister, Gabrielle," Ron mused.

Harry thought about this. Gabrielle Delacour was about ten years old when he rescued her from the bottom of the lake, so that would make her about twelve years old now.

"Ron, I think you're right. Gabrielle would be about twelve years old now, and the family probably transferred from Beauxbatons to Hogwarts," Harry replied.

"Maybe you should go up and say hello," Ron said.

"Well, er, I think that I'll do that, but not right now, she's just kind of standing back there. She probably hasn't been sorted yet," Harry answered.

Harry was probably right, Ron thought. The girl was leaning against the wall directly behind the Slytherin table. I'd hate to say it, but Gabrielle is even more beautiful than her sister.

"Ron!" Harry said sharply.

"Oh, sorry, what?" Ron said with a nervous laugh.

"I was thinking about Gabrielle. Actually, I don't even know if that is Gabrielle," Harry replied.

"Of course it is!" Ron said. "It looks like her!"

Harry looked back at the girl.

"I don't know, Ron. There is something about her that makes me think that she isn't Gabrielle," Harry said while squinting at the girl.

This girl just wasn't quite the same as the Fleur or Gabrielle from two years ago. This girl didn't have that glow that the Delacour girls had from being part Veela. Harry could also sense that the girl was angry or upset with something. She had her lips and mouth forced into a very strong scowl, and she had her arms folded across her chest. Her expressions and her body language seemed very familiar to Harry. Harry just could not place where he had seen something like that before.
