- I don't really ship Draco/Hermione anymore, but people still want me too carry on. So, I shall, for you guys.
This was it... It was the party... The pool party... And was 11 o' clock...
"MUM! WHY IN THE NAME OF GOD DID YOU NOT WAKE ME UP? IT'S ELEVEN O' CLOCK!" Hermione shrieked.
"I thought you needed some rest, you looked like you were dead when I came in to check on you! Don't scream at me!" she yelled back.
Hermione got up quickly and ironed her shirt and brushed her hair until it was silky smooth. She was very anxious and nervously cracked her knuckles.
Meanwhile at the Malfoy Manor...
"DRACO GET UP IT'S ELEVEN O' CLOCK IN THE MORNING!" Draco's mum shouted.
But Draco kept sleeping. Draco's mum, cursing under her breath, stomped up the stairs and took her wand out and muttered, "Wingardium Leviosa."
Draco flew up in the air and Draco's mum dropped him, accidentally, on his head. He cursed very colorfully. Narcissa started laughing and turned it in to a hacking cough.
"Darling, it's eleven in the morning you'll be late for that party if you don't wake up right now." she said.
"Then I won't go," Draco said while rubbing his head.
Narcissa had angry glint in her eyes.
Luckily, Draco saw this glint and quickly said, "But I'll go anyways!" slapping a fake smile across his face and his mum seemed satisfied she said, "Well get dressed and go to the dining room, the house elf already made breakfast."
"Okay," he said while yawning.
Draco combed his hair down. He didn't slick his hair back anymore. He thought it looked childish. He got his new swim trunks and extra clothes in to a bag. He went downstairs and ate sausages and ketchup. He went and got his stuff and sat down and read a book it was called Pools: What do muggles use them for? By Elizabeth Sabit until it was one o' clock.
"Draco, dear, you have to go. Now I don't want to be late because I don't know how long it's going to take to get there so lets go, go, GO!" instructed Narcissa firmly.
Draco rushed out, waved his wand and the purple Knight Bus came out of nowhere with a bang. He said to the driver, "To Funky Waters."
When he got on the bus he heard someone talking behind him. He knew the voice that said, "Well, if it isn't the arrogant, snobby Draco Malfoy?"
"Well, well, well, isn't it the Boy Wonder and Weasel his sidekick. Wait who's missing? Where's the Mudblood to finish the notorious trio?" said Malfoy with his infamous Malfoy smirk.
"Well for your information she's already there, setting up. Where are your idiot cronies, ferret boy?" said Ron.
"None, of your business, Weasel," snapped Draco.
Draco walked to the other end of the triple-decker and sat down on the bed.
"Agh, after this god forsaken party I am going to kill those stupid idiots," muttered Draco to himself.
"Funky Waters in 10 seconds, please gather up your things," said the driver.
Draco gathered up his things as other 7th years did. The bus came to a screeching halt and everyone got off.
Hermione was already there. She looked very pretty in her swimsuit and her cinnamon colored hair pulled back in a looptail. Too bad Malfoy didn't notice.
"Hi everyone! Welcome!" she said cheerily, "The men's locker room is there and the women's is there. So get dressed and come in the pool!"
Draco went in the locker room. He got his trunks on and put his clothes in his bag. When he went out to the pool lots of the other people were already there including Finnigan, Lavender, Macmillian, and number of other people, but he noticed no other Slytherins.
"Damn it, I should have been smart and not have gone either," murmured Draco feeling tremendously stupid.
He went in the pool reluctantly, he felt a bit out of place.
~~~
Hermione was floating happily in the pool, looking around and seeing friends talking with friends until she came across Malfoy. He looked more muscular and his silver blonde hair was shining in the sun, glinting like stars in the sky. She hated to say it but he looked very handsome. She felt sorry for him so she went over there but before she could go Harry and Ron said, "Hey! Where are you going?"
Hermione said, "To Malfoy, he looks sort of alone."
"What, are you mad? It's Malfoy. You don't have to go over there to entertain him," said Ron protectively.
"No, Ron. I'm not mad, but this is my party. I do not want not even want Malfoy to have a horrible time. So, I'm going whether you like it or not," said Hermione firmly.
Hermione swam over to Malfoy. "Hi there, Malfoy," said almost timidly.
"What do you want Granger?" drawled Malfoy.
"I don't know. Well you look a bit... Erm, I don't know a bit..." stuttered Hermione.
"What? Lonely? Friendless? Alone? Detached? Left out?" snapped Malfoy.
"I was just asking if you would like to hang around us. If you be civilized, Ron and Harry will be civilized," said Hermione firmly
Draco thought this for a minute. He was not going to hang out with a Mudblood.
"Granger, I have to admit it I'm not having fun, but..." Hermione looked so happy as thought he had said yes.
"But I don't need your pity so I'll stay here thank you." Malfoy replied.
Hermione looked like she was going to slap him. He could see it in her eyes.
"Well Draco - yes, I said your first name - you'll come with me, you will have fun, and a good time. So come on! Don't just sit there," she said.
"Give me a good reason why," said Malfoy glaring at Hermione.
"Why do you have to be so difficult?" said Hermione.
"I am a Malfoy, you know that," said Malfoy rolling his eyes.
"Malfoy, if you do not go over there and have fun right this moment, I swear to God, I will take a sack of potatoes and knock you over the head. And I will make sure that no one finds you," said Hermione her brown eyes flashing dangerously.
"Yeah, right, little Hermione Granger is making a death threat to me, Draco, bloody, Malfoy," said Malfoy beginning to get out of the pool.
Hermione snapped. She grabbed his foot and yanked him underwater.
"What the -?" he spluttered after coming up again.
"Draco Malfoy you little arrogant jerk! Now come over and stay with us or else! I swear..." said Hermione in a deathly tone.
He turned his back on her.
Hermione took his hand and yanked him towards Harry and Ron.
Surprisingly, Hermione was quite strong. Draco decided it was because she was really mad.
~~~
Hermione and Malfoy went near Harry and Ron. They both gave a look of disgust at Malfoy.
"If you guys are going to be with each other a until the end of the party you had better be civilized. So make a truce for now," said Hermione as if the decision had already been made. The guys all looked at each other and merely nodded.
"Good! So, lets play Marco Polo," said Hermione with a smile. Ron and Harry had a puzzled looks on their faces. Draco just had very annoyed look. Hermione explained the game and volunteered to be "it".
"MARCO!" she yelled.
"POLO!" the three boys yelled. She heard Draco's voice closest to her. He must've been a bad swimmer. She tagged Draco's arm.
'Wow,' she thought when she felt his bicep, 'He is really strong...'
"Hermione, Malfoy's it!" Harry yelled.
"Oh! Right," said Hermione. She giggled.
After playing a game or two of Marco Polo Hermione was "it" once again because Ron "accidentally" tagged Hermione on her behind. Hermione punished Ron with a whole lot of bruises, scratches, and gave him a swift kick in his "sensitive spot." Ouch.
Hermione yelled, "Marco" and they yelled "Polo." Once again she heard Draco's voice closest, wanting to "accidentally" touch him again, she moved in on him. There was of a lot "accidental" touching in this game.
Hermione was really near now. She could hear splashing and Draco was yelling a lot. Suddenly he ducked in the water and it was silent. Listening closely Hermione realized that he hadn't come back up.
"Time out!" she yelled and opened her eyes. "Harry, Ron, where is Malfoy?"
Harry said, "I don't know, he just sort of, disappeared."
Worried, she went down underwater and searched for Malfoy. Then she spotted him. He wasn't moving.
'DEAR LORD!' she thought. She dived after him, lifted him up swam to the top with him. She put him on the ground, her mind racing. She didn't know what to do at first, but then she remembered from swimming lessons if she didn't perform CPR in three minutes he would die. She jumped and performed CPR, without even thinking about the consequences. Harry and Ron were staring in disbelief and immense disgust.
Hermione muttered to herself, "In with the good air, out with the bad." After pumping his chest several times and giving him mouth-to-mouth, Malfoy sputtered water.
"What did you just do?" asked Malfoy, surprised to see Granger right over him.
"Performed CPR," mumbled Hermione flushing very darkly. She was hoping Malfoy did not know what CPR was.
"I wasn't trying to kiss you or anything," she said quickly, "You would have died if I hadn't performed CPR."
"I'm leaving," said Malfoy getting up. He walked to the locker room and did not look back.
Hermione looked very blue indeed. She looked up at Harry and Ron, who were still frozen in place, still amazed by what Hermione just did to Malfoy.
Hermione suddenly did something very irrational that surprised Ron and Harry very much, to the point of total disbelief.
She ran after him.
