The Unsung Past

A return from the Crusades conjures a scheme in two wizards who wish to start a school of their own. Royal opposition, a fight for nationhood, the all-powerful Church, and a disagreement in ideology mark the founding of Hogwarts.

With the Bishop of Cantebury's dedication of the school, the weighty problems with the Jews, and the founders' own travails the institution is founded. Now the only one that needs convincing is the king.

The summer parliament of 1290 was decisive in England's history, and consequently for the school in Scotland and its founders. The position of the Jews worsened. On July 18th in the year of Our Lord 1290, the king decided one further matter of great import: his Council at Westminster expelled the Jews from his kingdom and the territory of Scotland. This action will cause the bloodiest of consequences for the families of Hogwarts yet.

The hour of indecision is drawing to a close. For the Founders, inaction would cost them very dear. To go against the king and throw their weight with the struggling clans of Scotland seems to them their only course. But for Salazar, cousin of the king, decisions don't come so freely.

Godric, Helga and Rowena pledge their families and their fortunes to the fight for Scotland's freedom. Salazar now stands alone on the eve of battle. Swords fall at dawn.

The death of Helga's husband throws the Founders into a world of suspicion and intrigue. Helga's true nature is exposed and the school's final days of peace in these times has passed.

Christchurch, the noble seat of the Gryffindor's, is feeling the king's displeasure. Salazar has given him a means to his friend's end. Godric races to save his people and the land of his fathers.
