Anniversarius by Tahariel

Triptych - art consisting of a painting or carving (especially an altarpiece) on three panels. Though you can return to somewhere you have been before, it has very different meanings when your life has changed completely. Harry and Ron find that beauty is beauty, no matter what happens inbetween. Pre-slash if you look at it that way.
"He had always been able to feel the eyes on him somewhere between his shoulderblades, like a hot coal under his skin. People watched Harry as though they’d never seen him before, like he was some strange, unknown creature that might vanish if they so much as blinked, like a vapour trembling in the midday sun. If he thinks about it, Harry can tell you how many people are watching him at any one moment, how many eyes are trickling down his back and fingering idly through the locks of his hair and across his weather-tanned flesh, and he’ll be nearly right nine times out of ten."
"At night he sees Him falling, over and over again, even though he wasn’t in the right place to see it at all, on the other side of the towertop, but then Harry has always had a better imagination than he would have liked." Spoilers for HBP.
A Neville story. "Somehow, day to day life was difficult after she’d died. It wasn’t as though he’d relied on her, or had seen her that often, or that she’d been there to wipe up his tears when Uncle Algie did something especially painful." What it feels like to lose a mother, by somebody who knows.
Part five of five in the 'Colours' sequence. "And Harry was white, Harry who had been out here since before breakfast; the sun was setting now and Ron and Hermione would be looking for him, but they wouldn’t find him because he had turned as white as the snow, and for the first time in quite a while Harry felt like he was almost clean. Not quite clean, no, and as soon as he stepped back into the school he would be filthy again, coated with the deaths of God-knew-how-many, but for now he was almost white again."
Fourth of the 'Colours' sequence. "Harry was full of redness now, angry abused flames licking at his intestines and growling like a pissed off red demon of a dragon, cold eyes prowling the back alleys of Harry’s mind and peering out from behind his glasses with gold-slit pupils, and neither of them noticed at all."
Third of the 'Colours' Sequence. "Harry Potter, whether you knew him or not or liked him or not or cared at all or not was like a big creeping vine, the green tendrils reaching into your cracks and taking hold and spreading large green leaves that blocked out the sunlight until all you could see was him, a magnet for attention that Draco couldn’t stand."
Second part of the 'Colours' Sequence, but stands alone. "Lucius’ eyes had been blue, as blue as the sky was when there were no clouds and it was winter and so cold your tongue turned into one big icicle inside your mouth if you weren’t careful. Draco remembers his eyes, but that’s probably because he sees them every morning and every night in the mirror when he’s brushing his teeth, washing his face, shaving off the few hairs on his chin that might have been a beard if he hadn’t been a Malfoy."
