Dealing with the Devil

The evening after returning from Hogwarts, Bellatrix drags Andromeda out of their home into the turbulent nightlife of Diagon Alley. One thing leads to another, as things with Bellatrix always do, and Andromeda finds herself presented before the Dark Lord as an unwilling recruit for the Death Eaters.

After Andromeda and Bellatrix's return, a sulky Narcissa finds her evening improved with the news that she, and not her two, disgraced older sisters, will be attending the social event of the summer at the Malfoy estae.

Bellatrix Black is hauled in for questioning by an auror after attempting to incite a riot. Attempts at seduction fall spectacularly flat, and Bella finds herself jailed in the cells below the Minsitry of Magic. Ever-resourceful, however, Bellatrix uses the time to her advantage.

Narcissa, the new prefect for Slytherin, has a confusing and uncomfortable day, between trying to step out of her oldest sister's shadow now that Bellatrix has left Hogwarts, meeting up with Lucius Malfoy, and explaining to mudblood first-years why muggleborn students are just different from everyone else!

Andromeda tells the whole sorry tale of her summer escapades to Ted Tonks, her best friend - or is he something more than that?

The annual Black Christmas Eve party starts with a little family bonding among the five Black cousins, and ends with a chilling promise Bellatrix Black knows she will have to keep.
