Neko: You write more HP/DM stories than anyone we know.
T. K.: Do not. There are people who write nothing but HP/DM slash. And I bow at their feet.
Tsuki: *rolls eyes* We don't own Harry Potter.
~~~~~~
The final battle had ended; Voldemort lay dead at my feet. The Sword of Gryffindor ran through his heart, and Hell had opened up beneath him, taking his soul. I looked at the ruins of Malfoy Manor, furniture was busted, walls had been knocked down, and the front door swung on one hinge.
"Quite the mess isn't it, Potter?" I turned around; at least I knew Snape survived. Now, we had to find the rest of the survivors--- theirs and ours. My shoulders slumped with exhaustion. I took a few steps before stumbling over something. It was Ron! I rolled him over on his back.
"Ron? Oh, Ron!" His eyes were opened and a look of shock covered his face. Then he blinked. "Incantem Finite!" I said waving my wand. Ron sat up and shook his head. I heard Snape sigh.
Ron smiled at me. "It's over, right?"
"Over, done, and you missed all of it. Be thankful."
"Harry! Ron!" Hermione called to us as she rushed to our sides. I stood up and held my hand out to Ron. He took it and pulled himself up, Hermione threw herself at us and we hugged. Snape stood behind us as we embraced.
"Well, all right, we must get to work," I said taking charge. "We have to find anyone who survived."
Hermione nodded and said, "How do we do this? I mean, it would be faster if we all split up. But then again, if one of us comes upon a room full of Death Eaters just regrouping and waiting until it's safe who knows what will happen."
Snape stepped up beside of Hermione. "Then in pairs, Miss Granger. You and Mr. Weasley take this floor; Mr. Potter and myself will go below. Once you've finished searching, bring everyone you find back here. If you find Dumbledore, tell him where we are."
Ron and Hermione looked at me and I nodded; they walked away with one glance over their shoulders at me. Snape led the way to the far side of the room and through what was once an elegant dining room. In the kitchen, a group of house elves sat huddled in the far corner, I was reminded of Dobby. I smiled at them.
"I hope you know what is in the cellar, because I don't," I said.
Snape turned halfway around and looked at me. "If memory serves me correctly, I believe the cellar is actually," he pushed a door open, "a dungeon."
Oh, joy, a dungeon,
I thought. Only the Malfoys would have a dungeon. Well, them and Filch... and maybe Snape. I drew my wand and said, "Lumos." The tip of my wand lit up like a muggle torch; Snape and I proceeded into the bowels of Malfoy Manor.~~~~~~
Several words came to mind when I'm in the Malfoy Dungeons. I don't think any of them would be appropriate to even think too loudly when students are around, even if they are seventeen and as tall as I am. Potter's spell only lights up the area around us so much but I was never too good with the Light Charm so I settle with having my wand drawn and ready to defend us at anytime.
"Why do the Malfoys have a dungeon?" Potter asks.
I raise my eyebrows and give a sighing laugh. "There was really no reason for it when Lucius's father built the house but after Lucius joined with the Dark Lord he used it for, well..."
"It's original purposes," Potter finished.
"Correct," I say and continue walking checking the cells as we go. I'm not really in a talkative mood and I think Potter picked up on that, but there is one thing I have to know... "How long have you and Draco been together?"
Potter stopped dead in his tracks. "What? How did you---"
"Draco was talking with the Bloody Baron the other night and I over heard him." I raised my eyebrow expecting him to answer.
"Why do you care?" he asked harshly.
I smile.
~~~~~~
Snape smiled at me, not the usual cold, condescending 'I'm better than you' smile; this one was like the one Dumbledore gets when he's asking what really happened.
"I care because Draco and you are two of my students; on top of that, Draco is like a nephew to me," Snape said. "I am simply concerned with the condition of his heart."
Poetic,
I think. "Draco and I have been together since fifth year," I say.Snape nodded and started walking away, I rush to catch up with him.
"I won't break his heart," I say quietly.
~~~~~~
It was my turn to stop dead in my tracks.
"I do love him," Potter continued.
"Did Draco tell you about what he was to be?" I ask.
Potter hesitated then nodded.
Draco was born to be the something bigger than just a Death Eater, he was to be the Dark Lord's body. If Potter hadn't weakened the Dark Lord as a baby, the Dark Lord would have needed a new body and I'm not talking about the same spell he used during the Tri-Wizards. Draco was to be that body; but because of Potter he no longer needed that body. So Voldemort had other plans for Draco, he was to be his new plaything. His to torture and rape mentally and physically until his will was broken. I had been that person until his downfall and after his return I was suddenly on edge and waiting with fear at his every beck and call; I wasn't sure I could have handled another bout as his slave. Oh, wait, I'm sorry, his pet.
When Draco told me of what the Dark Lord had decreed, I was in tears and swearing the thing would never lay a hand on him. So far I had been as good as my word, but now I feared I had failed.
"We aren't going to save Draco standing here," Potter said.
I nodded and started walking faster, then eventually just running. Potter's light bounced along the walls as he jogged along with me. Draco may no longer be in danger of the being Dark Lord's pet, but now he may be dead. Draco, stay strong.
~~~~~~
The silence had been thick, the only noise was my father's incoherent mumblings and my own ragged breath.
"Draco," my father said, "you're time has come. You shall house the soul of our Lord."
I shoved myself further into the corner where I had chosen to hid my face, huddled up in the fetal position. Harry, help me, I thought. But there was no help for me suddenly and my only hope was myself.
Father advanced towards me, a knife in his hand. I clenched my jaw, I was no lamb and I would not allow him to slaughter me as such. I had seen Harry kill Voldemort, I watched as the demons of Hell drug his soul to their master. All Father would accomplish now was killing me.
Father moved closer, his movements staggered instead of the gracefulness we Malfoys possessed. I narrowed my eyes in anticipation, waiting for the moment when I could attack, every muscle tensed in readiness. Suddenly, Father stopped and I ran at him. My movement threw him off and we landed on the floor, Father's hand moved and he slashed my back with the knife. Then I head butted him, something I had learned from years of school yard fights with Harry, it hurt but I did it again before landing a punch in his solar plexuses.
Father groaned but still had enough strength to roll us over and pin me beneath him. He raised the knife and suddenly it shot out of his hand. I looked over to see Harry and Severus standing at the door.
~~~~~~
"Get off him," I growled at Lucius Malfoy.
"You don't know what you're interfering in, Potter," he said in reply.
"Undoubtedly it has something to do with bringing Voldemort back and the demise of the Muggle race," I said blandly waving my hand and wand around.
Draco smirked at me.
Snape was quietly making his way towards Malfoy and Draco had seen that.
"Now, get off of him," I said again.
Malfoy turned back to Draco and raised his fist but Snape was suddenly there grabbing his fist and threw him backwards towards me. Malfoy stopped a few steps behind me and I turned to face him. I looked at him disdainfully before rearing back and punching him. Somehow, the sound of his nose breaking and him falling unconscious to the floor wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped. So I turned back to Draco and ran to his side.
Snape was hugging him and I stroked his hair. This was satisfying.
~~~~~~
The Malfoy trial was quick and quiet, much to a recovering Draco's relief. I, personally, would have just drug Lucius and Narcissa out into the street and cursed them until dead. But the Ministry and Fudge had to have their way.
The Malfoy-Potter wedding on the other hand was a large, drawn out event. Again, I would have been quick about it. The whole of Harry and Draco's friends were there along with all us professor, Albus presiding. Ron Weasley was Harry's best man and I was Draco's. Hermione Granger bawled through the whole thing on Lupin shoulder, Minerva right along with her on Black's. Both Lupin and Black looked reminiscent, likely recalling their own wedding over 19 years ago as well as James Potter and Lily's wedding. I myself kept sneaking glances at my own lover, Joliet Sinistra, who smiled brightly at Draco then myself.
A wedding in my future, possibly, but not with all this fluff.
Draco and Harry had basically pulled this out of a bag, choosing a wrist binding.
"You are now bound Body, Heart, and Soul. May you be happy in your numerous day as Mr. and Mr. Malfoy-Potter," Albus said. Draco and Harry kissed and the whole crowd rejoiced.
