Chapter 9

Friday had finally come. Dess, Damien, Josh, and Harry walked down the stairs together. Drusilla Potter made sure they were going to arrive fashionably late.

"Dessie, you look stunning," Hades commented. Harry had to agree and from Josh's grinning and eyeing Harry could tell he agreed too. Dess had her hair twisted at the back of her head and tiny curls flowed out of the clip. A blossoming rose was pinned onto the right side of the clip to hide it from view. One chunk of black hair hung into her eyes, there was no trance of blue anywhere in her hair. The all blood red dress she was wearing flared at the bottom but had two long slits up the sides to her middle thigh and the top of the dress criss-crossed and dipped low. The back of the dress dipped to the ball of her back and laced up. Harry himself was wearing dark green robes and his eyes shone out against his black hair. Damien was in all black and Josh was in dark blue. Hades was at the bottom of the stairs in grey. Drusilla Potter had on dark purple and had her hair twisted and in a small bun at the nape of her neck. Lucifera's hair was pulled back in a tight bun and she had on a long pink dress that covered up as much as possible but it suited her figure.

"Now," she said as all of them convened in the hall. She pointed at Hades. "I expect you to be well behaved around Lucius Malfoy. No fighting this time." The corner of Hades' mouth twitched. "That means everyone," Drusilla went on looking at all of them. Lucifera nodded her approval of her mother's actions.

"The carriage awaits," Jay said patiently at the door.

"Thank you, Jay," Drusilla said nodding.

"Is Jay coming?" Dess asked excitably. Drusilla turned to Dess and smiled.

"If he chooses," Drusilla said simply.

"Thank you madam," Jay said holding his arm out to Dess and leading her down the stairs. Harry grinned. His cousin always found a way to get her favorite butler to come with them. Harry thought Jay was wicked. He was a tall man but very bulky. Harry thought he was probably more of a bodyguard. Harry had seen him practicing fencing with Hades in the fencing room. He was quite good at the art. A black carriage awaited them in the driveway. Jay helped the ladies in then allowed the boys to scramble in after them. He took the reins of four winged horses. They were going to fly to Malfoy Mansion.

"What do you think, Harry?" Damien asked him as they took off. Harry had been staring out the window in awe.

"It's wicked," he said turning back to grin at Damien. Damien smirked. "But don't you think muggles will see us?"

"Oh it's cloaked in invisibility," Josh added smiling. Harry grinned remembering is own escape in a flying car in the beginning of his second year. Harry could feel the carriage lowering but didn't see any mansion. Not until they landed did he see the mansion. It was creepy. It looked one of those mansions in a horror picture. He felt Dess shutter beside him. He knew that she was thinking the same thing about the Malfoy Mansion. Immediately five house elves came down to lead them up the stairs and take their over robes. They were led to two black double oak doors and they opened magically.

"The Potters!" No one in particular announced. "Mrs. Drusilla Potter, Mr. Hades Potter, Miss. Lucifera Potter, Mr. Harry Potter, Miss. Desdemona Potter, Mr. Damien Potter, and Mr. Joshua Gilbert along with their companion Jay Jacobson." Desdemona squeezed Harry's arm as Lucius Malfoy approached.

"Hello and welcome," Narcissa Malfoy said plastering a smile on her face. She kissed both of Drusilla's cheeks then turned to Lucifera and did the same. When she came to Dess, Dess hugged the woman happily. Narcissa's smile broke into a real one and she hugged the girl back. "It's wonderful to see you again, Desdemona," Harry heard Narcissa whisper into the younger girl's ear. So, Harry thought to himself, Narcissa Malfoy wasn't as bad as she put off.

"I believe my son has been waiting for you," Lucius Malfoy commented to Dess motioning to across the room. Dess and Harry both looked. Fred Weasley and Draco Malfoy were inches apart in a glaring fight. Dess looked worriedly at Harry.

"Thank you for inviting us," Dess commented pulling Harry across the room to where Draco and Fred were glaring at each other. Dess put herself between the glaring duo pushing them apart. "Hey guys," she said smiling at both of them. "What's going on?" Draco sneered at Fred and Fred growled. Dess looked back at Harry mouthing "help".

"Desdemona, would you like to dance?" Draco asked her sticking out his hand to her.

"Sure Draco," Dess said taking his hand. Harry watched as Draco led his cousin onto the dance floor. Draco smirked back at Fred and Fred tried to lunge after him but Harry stopped him.

"Fred, cool down. She likes you not Malfoy," Harry told him and he relaxed.

"He just gets under your skin," George commented letting go of Fred. Harry nodded in agreement.

Chapter 10

"Do you tango?" Draco asked Dess as he led her to the dance floor.

"Yes," Dess commented as he motioned to the orchestra and they started to play. The beat was perfect for the tango. Draco placed one hand at the base of her back and the other still clasped her hand in his. Dess put one hand at the nape of his neck. They moved in perfect sequence. Draco spun Dess out and whipped her back so fast it made Dess gasp. Draco just grinned. The duo didn't notice when people started to clear the floor to watch them dance. Draco dipped her low and brought her back up to him roughly. The clip in Dess' hair flew from her hair and her wild black tresses fell curling beautifully. Draco smiled.

Harry couldn't believe what he was watching. Dess and Draco did look good together. If he didn't know for sure how much she liked Fred, he would have thought there was something between the two. The body chemistry coming from both of them almost knocked you over. The way Draco was dancing with Dess almost made you jealous. Harry could feel Fred tense behind him as the clip from Dess' hair flew and her hair fell. Draco, Harry had to admit, was a great dancer and Dess met his skills. They twisted, spun, and dipped in perfect harmony. George and Ron had to hold back Fred as the song came to an end. Draco's and Dess' bodies were so close you couldn't see where hers began and his ended. At the end of song Draco dipped Dess low and leaned over as to kiss her. They're lips never met but almost did. Draco spun her back up and they finally noticed that everyone was watching them. They shrugged and bowed to each other. Draco's lips came down and graced Dess' hand. Finally Draco led Dess back over to where the Weasleys and Harry stood watching them. Draco handed Dess her lost clip and rose.

"Thank you for the dance Desdemona," Draco said politely. "I hope we can again," he smirked at Fred and Harry then sauntered away.

"Have a nice dance?" Fred asked harshly as Dess turned to Harry and Fred twisting her hair back into her clip.

"It would have been better if it was with you," Dess said innocently looking at Fred through hooded eyes. Fred's lips twitched with a smile but it never happened. Harry admitted to himself that he couldn't have lasted that long with any girl batting their eyelashes at him like that. "Will you dance with me?" Dess asked him.

"Maybe you should go get Draco to dance with you," Fred blurted out.

"Fine have a nice night," Dess said turning on her heel and marching to where Ginny was standing with Josh and Damien. "Your brother is so difficult. Can't he see how much I like him," Dess said her face screwed up in frustration.

"Hey, Dessie, it's ok," Damien said. "I heard there are some drums and guitars behind those curtains. This party is really dull. Care to liven it up?" Dess' face broke out in a smile. Dess caught Draco's eye from across the room and motioned for him to come over. He raised a questioning eyebrow at her but sauntered over.

"Yes?" He questioned. Dess smiled prettily.

"Are there guitars and drums on that stage behind the curtains?" Dess asked innocently.

"Yes, we have them for when bands come," Draco said cautiously.

"How do you get on stage?" Dess asked him.

"Those double doors," Draco said.

"Do you or do you know anyone who plays piano?" Dess asked again.

"I play," Draco admitted. "What are you going to do?" He asked her suspiciously.

"Ok, can you play this when I motion to you?" Dess asked handing him sheet music she had pulled out of her dress somehow. Draco nodded with a questioning eyebrow raised. "Nothing," Dess said simply grabbing Josh and Damien steering them towards the doors. Ginny followed behind them.
