- Author's Note:
- I know, its kind of weird but I couldn't help it. Usually people write about Sirius being set free. I wanted to write about Harry's godmother. HARRY HAS COUSINS BESIDE FAT DUDLEY!! I like this fic and it might turn to be about Dess too! Stephanie won't show till later in this fic but she will be here!
Chapter 1
It was the end of the school year. Harry had dreaded it his whole fifth year. He knew that he had to go back to the Dursleys. He couldn't even stay with Ron or the Weasleys. Still not "safe," even though, Voldemort hadn't been spotted the whole year. He couldn't be in that much danger, could he?
He walked off the Hogwarts Express with dread on his mind. He waved good bye to Ron and Hermione and looked around for his Uncle Dursley.
"Harry Potter?" a cheerful voice asked. Harry turned around to see a girl that had to be his age. She was pretty with jet black hair in a short pixie cut that went every which way with tiny dark blue streaks. She was wearing all blue, a blue leather mini skirt with a long sleeve corset type shirt. The blue from her clothing made her piercing midnight blue eyes shine. They seemed to look right through you. She looked so familiar, something about those eyes. She was staring at him with those eyes with a questioning look. He snapped back to reality.
"Yes, I'm Harry," he said. She smiled at him.
"Good," she said grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the wall that led them into muggle London.
"Wait," Harry said and planted his feet, "Who are you?"
She sighed and faced him again meeting his eyes."Oh, I forgot," she laughed slightly. Harry liked her laugh. It was oddly familiar just like her eyes.
She stuck out her hand to him. "Desdemona Potter," she said smiling, "Usually, since my name is extremely long, hard to pronounce, and people like to forget it, so friends and family members call me Des. Harry please, close your mouth. You look like a fish." Harry closed his mouth but his face still looked startled.
"Pot-Pot-Potter?" Harry finally got o.
"Yes, Potter," Des said rolling her eyes. "I'm your cousin."
"Wait," Harry said. "How do I know that you are who you say you are?" She smiled and handed him a sheet of parchment. He unrolled it and read:
Desdemona Potter
Daughter of Drusilla and Jackson Potter
Niece of famous aurors Lily and James Potter
Granddaughter to Daniela and Harry Potter
Granddaughter to Teresa and Timothy Harris
She grabbed his arm again and linked hers through his. "I never knew Uncle James but I saw pictures. You look a lot like him. You have Aunt Lily's eyes though."
Harry looked over at his "cousin". She looked saddened by the thought of her "Uncle" James and "Aunt" Lily. He couldn't believe this was happening to him. He had other relatives? Why didn't they find him earlier? They crossed through the barrier and Harry let Des drag him through London Station. They finally arrived at the front and Des looked around.
"Um... What are we looking for?" Harry asked.
"Jay," Des said then grinned when a huge black limo pulled up. She pulled him towards it. "Come on Harry!"
A stiff looking butler stepped out of the car and opened the door for them. "Thank you, Jay," Des said gratefully.
quo; You're welcome, madam," he said, a touch of snob in his tone. He then broke into a smile. "Is this Master Harry?"
"Yes, Jay," Des said climbing into the back of the limo. Jay took Harry's things and he scrambled in after his cousin. He sat across from her since she lounged on the main seat in the back. They sat in awkward silence for minutes that seemed like hours.
Harry still couldn't believe this was happening to him. Were these people going to be just like the Dursleys? "We had to go into hiding," Des finally blurted out. Harry's green eyes snapped up.
"I'm sorry. What?" He asked confused by her sudden outburst.
"We had to go into hiding. That is, my mother and I. That's why we couldn't take you then. My mother is your godmother," she told him looking away from her Witch Weekly.
"Oh," Harry said. "Your mother is my godmother?"
"Yeah," Des said smiling. "Aunt Lily and my mother were close. My parents couldn't come today. We are just moving into our new house. I met the neighbors. They're nice. We bought some of their land to build our house on. You know, since we are just now being allowed out of hiding."
"Oh, so this is all new to you too?" Harry asked. Des nodded, her blue eyes peering into Harry's.
"We both get to design our own rooms," Des said a dreamy _expression coming over her. "Isn't that wicked?" Harry grinned. He liked his cousin already.
