Chapter 5

*Hogsmeade*

Lupin's face was stone cold.

"Sirius!" Lupin shouted as he rushed out of the cave.

"Where are you?" no response.

Just then he heard a growl coming from behind him.

"Sirius?" no response. "Sirius this isn't funny!"

There was a rustling of leaves, and then.......

"I do believe you need to control your pets, Lupin."

Lupin's mouth hung open in disbelief. "Snape?"

*Hogwarts*

Dumbledore was pacing back and forth inside the Hogwarts faculty room. Harry was missing. How could he not have seen it?

Tap tap. Dumbledore stopped Pacing. Who could this be?

"Come in," said Dumbledore, trying to look professional.

It was Dobby.

"Sir, Dobby has something to tell master Dumbledore."

"Yes...," Dumbledore said, wondering what it could be.

"Dobby knows where Harry Potter is."

*Hogsmeade*

"Snape? What are you doing here?" Lupin asked, not really wanting to hear the answer.

Snape snorted as if that question was ridiculous. "Well, I heard Potter was missing, and decided to look here."

Lupin shook his head. "You don't care about Harry, why are you really here?"

Snape raised his eyebrows and started circling Lupin. "As you may have forgotten," Snape said menacingly. "I work for Headmaster Dumbledore too."

"Yes, but he wouldn't send you," retorted Lupin.

"True," Snape said relaxing a bit, "like I said, I came here on my own."

Lupin kept staring at him. "What did you do to Sirius?"

"He kicked me!" said Sirius panting, and turning back into a human.

"I thought it was a stray," Snape said airily.

Sirius stared at Lupin. "No wonder you aren't married."

*Hogwarts*

"Where is he?" asked Dumbledore.

"He went to see someone, sir. Dobby was to go get Harry Potter's things but, Dobby wanted to inform you, sir."

"Thank-you Dobby. I have to take care of something if you'll excuse me."

"Sure, sir," Dobby said politely.

Dumbledore practically sprinted out of the room; leaving Dobby wondering if he had done the right thing.

Sirius, Lupin, and Snape were now all in the cave.

"What happened to him?" Snape asked, pointing to Harry.

"He fainted," Sirius said quickly.

After a time, everything had settled down, although, Sirius and Lupin had serious doubts about Snape wanting to help them. Lupin was currently pulling blankets over Harry, again. He had been tossing and turning. Sirius was feasting on the little food he had stolen from the shops. And, despite Sirius and Lupin arguing that he would already know, Snape was writing a letter to Dumbledore about the whereabouts of Harry.

"Do you think Dumbledore knows were Fudge is?" Sirius asked abruptly.

"I don't think so," Snape said, not moving his eyes off the letter.

When was all this hiding going to end? How long was is it going to be before I wouldn't have to look over your shoulder everywhere I went? Sirius thought. And what about Harry?

Then, all of a sudden there was a loud thud outside. All three stared at one another.

"I'll go check it out," said Lupin.

"No," Snape said brushing past Lupin, "I will."

*Hogwarts*

"Minerva!" Dumbledore said, sprinting down the hall.

"What is it, Albus?" McGonagall asked, turning around quickly.

"Did you already send Fletcher and Moody?"

"Yes....," she replied confused.

Dumbledore sighed. "Good, could you possibly send someone to the Weasley's and the Granger's too?"

"Sure, Albus."

"Thank-you," he said, turning, and proceeded to walk back to his office.

*Hogsmeade*

"Do you think we should go check on him?" Sirius asked, not quite sure of how long it had been.

Lupin nodded. "I'll go first."

Outside, it was dark and gloomy. Despite the fact that it was summer, it didn't seem it; the chilly air, was enough to make anyone want to curl up and go to bed.

"Snape?" Sirius whispered, coming up from behind Lupin.

There was a rattle in the bushes.

"Snape, are you there?"

There was another rattling in the bushes, and someone's deep voice followed.

"You know," said the voice sarcastically, "you really should stay as a dog Black, you'd be much better company."

"Mundungus?"

*Hogwarts*

Dobby was sitting in Dumbledore's office, worrying only about how he was to get Harry's trunk to him. Dumbledore had tried everything to get Dobby to tell him where Harry was, but he was very loyal to our young Mr. Potter.

"Dobby, I understand that you're only trying to protect him, but so am I," stated Dubmledore.

Dobby smiled. "Dobby knows. Dobby just doesn't know if Harry Potter wants anyone to know exactly where he is."

Dumbledore sighed. "You can go."

Dobby's eyes widened. "Really, sir?"

"I suppose you can take his things to him too," Dumbledore said reluctantly.

"Oh, thank-you, sir, but Dobby has something to do first."

Dobby dropped down from where he was sitting, and continued towards the door.

Dumbledore's eyes were on the door. "Good," he said smiling. He got up from his desk and went to inform the order of a new ally.

*********************************************

*Hogsmeade*

"H---how did you get here?" asked Sirius, trying to take the worry out of his voice.

Mundungus laughed. "Dumbledore sent us."

He squinted his eyes. "He did tell you the Order knows you're innocent, right?"

"Yes," said Sirius.

"Who's us?" Lupin questioned abruptly.

"Hmmm, you always did forget about me Lupin." Moody stepped out from behind the bush. "We found Snapey here for you." Moody had Snape's hands, feet, and mouth bound---plus he was floating.

"What did you do?" Sirius asked, trying hard not to laugh.

"Just practicing," said Mundungus smugly.

"Let him down," said Lupin.

"What ever you say." Mundungus snorted.

With a thud Snape had fallen to the ground.

Sirius' failed attempt to not laugh, made Lupin join in.

"Now unbind him." Lupin said, still giggling.

"Ah, you're no fun." Mundungus did what Lupin said, and immediately he wished he hadn't. Snape must of yelled for ten minutes without taking a breath.

"Are you quite finished?" Moody asked, slumping his shoulders.

Snape growled inwardly.

"Why don't we go inside, it's been a really long day," Sirius yawned out.

"Sure," Mundungus said grinning, "question though, where's Harry?"

***

After Sirius had explained everything that had happened, they had immediately wanted to go to sleep. Moody and Mundungus in one corner---Lupin and Sirius in another---and Snape as far away from both as possible. Harry, however, Sirius had moved towards him. Although, Sirius was very tired, he couldn't fall asleep.

"Hey, Harry why don't you wake up?" Sirius whispered into Harry's ear.

All Sirius wanted to do was give him a big hug. Sirius found this weird considering he wasn't the most compassionate guy in the world. There was something about him, something that made Sirius feel complete; like a father.

Sirius curdled himself into a ball, and eventually fell asleep.

***

"What should we do now?" Mundungus asked Moody the next morning.

"Well," he began, "we should tell Dumbledore that he can call off the search."

"There's no need," Snape butted in, "I've already written to him."

"Well, is that a fact?" Moody said mockingly, "are you sure it wasn't intercepted?"

"Yes...," Snape said slowly.

"Guess again!" Moody pulled a crinkled piece of parchment out of his pocket.

"You know," Mundungus stated, "you should really be more careful."

Snape gave them a look as though he was ready to kill. "Well, if you're going back so am I." Snape said harshly.

"What about Harry?" Lupin asked.

Mundungus scratched his chin. "I guess he should stay here until Dumbledore says otherwise."

Sirius and Lupin both nodded.

"Good-bye then," Moody said shaking Sirius' hand, "I'm glad we have you back."

Mundungus did and said something along the same lines; and with that they had left the cave.

"Well, " Snape said fixing his robes, "I guess I'll be going now too." Snape walked over to Lupin and Sirius. And with a small "Bye," he had gone as well.

"Did you find that as weird as I did?" Sirius asked Lupin.

"Hmm, do you think Snape's turning over a new leaf?" Lupin asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Nah," they both said.

They both started laughing. "I suppose we should try to find something to eat."

"Yes, I'm starving," Sirius replied.

Sirius turned himself into a dog, and trotted along side Lupin to go to the shops. Even though Lupin wasn't a known murder---and had no reason to hide---he didn't have any money to buy anything.

Without anyone talking and moving around, the cave was quite peaceful. Except for Harry. Cold sweat ran down his face, and he started shaking.

His eyes snapped open.

***

"Where am I?" Harry whipped the sweat from his head. "Hello? Is anyone there?" Harry groped around blindly for his glasses. He found them beside him and placed them firmly on his face. "Oh, no," Harry looked around. He was in Hogsmeade.

Harry smacked himself, then, realized that was a very stupid thing to do, considering his head felt as though it was run over by a tow truck.

"Sirius?" Harry slowly stood up. His legs felt like Jell-o, and his back was hurting him. Must have been from falling to the floor. Harry thought to himself.

"Ouch," Harry screamed, running into wall. He started laughing. "Why is it always me?" He sat back down; he was getting really dizzy.

Harry sat there searching for the what he was to say to Sirius. "And why was Mrs. Figg here?" Harry wondered out loud. Harry scratched at his head. "You've really done it this time." Harry groaned, and plopped back down on his back.

He stared at the ceiling, but was interrupted by the sound of a loud thud. Two large eyes stared at him.

"Dobby?"

"Yes, sir."

"Geeze, you really need to stop doing that!" Harry sighed and pushed himself up against the wall. "You brought my trunk? Already?"

"Dobby had to, sir, " Dobby said shyly, "Dumbledore probably knows Harry Potter's here, it doesn't matter anymore."

"I suppose you're right." Harry tried standing up again, but his legs buckled under the weight. "Thanks," he said smiling painfully.

"Is Harry Potter alright?"

"Yes," Harry said harshly, "I'll be fine."

Dobby looked down at the floor. "Will Harry Potter come visit Dobby sometimes?"

Harry chuckled. "Yes, of course, I will." Harry looked around then said: "Now, you must leave before Sirius gets back, I don't expect it to be very pleasant."

Dobby nodded, then ran out of the cave.

Harry shook his head, and laid back down. It wasn't going to be easy; he was very sick. Harry shuddered. What am I going to say? I was ease dropping on them. What is Dumbledore going to say? Will I be able to stay here? Harry felt his eyelids drooping, Sirius and Lupin better get back soon, Harry wasn't going to stay awake much longer.

***

Whether it had been one hour or one day, Harry wasn't completely sure. Man I 'm tired! Please hurry up Sirius! Harry knew if he fell asleep again, he wouldn't be able to get up for a very long time.

Harry snorted. "If they aren't going to come to me, I'm going to go to them." Harry leaned against the wall. "Now, legs, you're going to walk whether you like it or not." He raised himself slowly and, still leaning on the wall, walked over to his trunk---he might need his wand. He looked into his trunk---he hadn't realized that it wasn't a good idea for him to abandon his wand like that.

"Now," Harry said looking around the room. "Where is my cloak?" Harry remembered taking it off, then fainting. "Sirius must of done something with it." Harry kept looking around until, he saw something laying under one of the sheets Sirius had got for him.

"Ha! I was laying on it!" Harry snatched it out from under the sheet. He sighed, then, put his cloak on. He started swaying a bit, but quickly balanced himself. "Here we go again."

***

The walk down to the shops was torture. Harry had to stop every so often, and sit down. What am I doing? Harry asked himself. Harry stayed in one particular spot for a really long time.

Just as he was about to go back to the cave, Harry heard some familiar voices.

"I know, Headmaster, but---" said one of the voices.

Harry's heart beat grew faster at those words, Headmaster?

Without even thinking about the pain, Harry ran back towards the cave; he knew Dumbledore could see through his cloak, and he really wasn't ready to explain everything to Dumbledore, yet.

Harry raced to get back to the cave; it didn't help that he was feeling dizzy. When he had finally reached the cave again, he thought he might faint. "No, Harry not now!" he screamed at himself. Harry ran to his trunk and threw his wand in it, then, placed his cloak back under his sheets. Harry heard footsteps getting closer and closer; he decided to pretend to be asleep.

"But, Headmaster!" Sirius screamed walking into the cave.

"Sirius," Dumbledore said calmly. "Harry has to be in the Order. There is no other way."

"Unfortunately, I believe Professor Dumbledore is right," Lupin said sighing.

"How am I going to ask him something like this? I'll bet he'll be real happy, I can just see it now. Hey, Harry! Why don't you risk your life and join The Order Of The Phoenix!"

Dumbledore smiled. "I believe you just did."
