- Author's Note:
- After a rather...interesting...conversation with my friend, we have decided to discontinue Snape's Spawn and apologize profusely to any offence we have caused.
Fairley grabbed my arm and squeezed it so that my blood pressure was cut off. I, meanwhile, gazed around with interest. "Maybe this isn't a joke?" I whispered as we walked behind Snape.
"I bet there's a lot of people in on this," she whispered back, but she was calming down. She was only this paranoid around strangers, which was often annoying.
"There," Snape said abruptly," this is your wand shop. You should be able to find your way around Diagon Alley by yourself." Then he turned on his heel and strode away. We started towards the shop but Fairley stumbled and I bent to help her.
"Oh, great," someone complained loudly. "A Malfoy."
"I didn't know Malfoy had a sister," a different male voice chimed in. I stood up, eyebrows raised.
"You think I'm a Malfoy?" I asked, surprised. The boy rolled his eyes.
"No, I think you're a hippopotamus." I sighed and helped Fairley up. His eyes bulged. "A Malfoy with a Potter?" he gasped. We giggled.
"We've been best friends for years," I replied, then briefly rested my elbow on her shoulder and grinned. "Very good friends." Fairley blushed and looked away while I laughed at their expressions. I was lying, of course, but it was fun. Both pair of eyes were bulging, both mouths open, and faces slightly red.
"Hey, Dean, Seamus?" a voice called and there was a flash of red hair. "Hey, have you seen Harry?"
"No, but listen, I think Harry has a long lost sister or something," the redheaded boy in front of us said back and I rolled my eyes. "And Malfoy has a sister."
"Okay, let me explain. I was born in America. Fairley was born in America. She has one sister and I am an only child. We're not related to Potter or Malfoy," I said, sounding out each syllable slowly.
"Yeah, besides, Harry's at least two years older than that girl and his parents died when Harry was one," the redhead added.
"My God, Fair! I heard British were ugly but I never heard about stupid," I said to her as I leaned against the brick wall. She smiled nervously. The redhead scowled just as a boy and a girl slipped to his side.
"Found Hermione, Ron," the boy said. Harry Potter. He looked only thirteen and I felt strangely uncomfortable.
"Do you think J.K Rowling's a Seer?" I asked Fair, glancing at the short boy in front of me.
"Hey, is that a Malfoy?" Harry asked, squinting. I threw my arms up and looked towards the heavens.
"God, help me, if someone says that one more time I'll-" I was cut off by Fairley's reply.
"Hey, Hazel, it's Gosh. You're not supposed to take the Lord's name in vain," she reprimanded and I sighed in exasperation. She smiled sheepishly and ducked her head. "Sorry."
"That's okay, Gosh forgives you." We both laughed.
"So, if you're not a Potter, what are you?" Ron asked.
"I'm a girl. Y'know, a female, a woman-to-be, the opposite sex of male. Also the same thing that's standing beside you," I said, glancing at the girl that was probably Hermione.
"I meant your surname."
"Abadi," I replied and shuddered slightly. "And Fairley Yartnock." I shook my head and grabbed my best friend and pulled her into the wand shop.
"Ah, I have been expecting you..."
