- Author's Note:
- I would personally like to thank the one and only J.K. Rowling for writing the Harry Potter books, without which none of this would be possible. Also thanks to Kim for getting me into fan fiction. If you have any questions that can't wait for e-mail, feel free to contact me on my AIM screenname, xOxNFGfanxOx.
Ladies and gentlemen, I, Hermione Granger, have finally decided to set the record straight. I have suffered quite enough misunderstandings in my life about everything from my past right up to the here and now of today. So, kindly pay attention to my little tale, adequately entitled (I think, anyway) Mishaps and Misunderstandings.
Most of you out there in the wizarding community would have flipped your lid (pardon the Muggle expression) to meet The Famous Harry Potter at the same age I did, which also happened to be just as he was entering our interesting, to say the least, world. Having only read about him due to my, up until I was eleven, Muggle lifestyle, I was, naturally, intrigued when I met him. After my first encounter with Harry (at which point I had been unable to prevent myself from showcasing my newly discovered magical talents), though I was loath to admit it, I was drawn to a certain air he had about him. Forming a friendship with Harry and Ron Weasley proved to be a much easier than my previous attempts at making friends in the past--not to say that this was easy. Due to my rather unfortunately bossy nature, they took their time getting to know me. However, the (ahem) events that occurred in that time period formed an intricate bond between the three of us. As I'm sure was very apparent, I was somewhat smitten with Harry, though I quickly recovered from that madness, and now am simply a friend, albeit a very close one. And no, I do not have romantic feelings for Ron Weasley, despite what everyone seems to think. I am so very glad to have friends like them, in spite of the enemies I may have acquired.
Speaking of enemies, I think I should bring up the topic of Draco Malfoy. It would appear that many people, who will remain nameless as a result of my unwillingness to write down all their names, think that Draco and I would make a lovely couple. this I find incredibly hard to believe. Malfoy is nothing more than a blithering idiot who hasn't got the slightest idea what in the world he is supposed to think. He has been brainwashed into believing that unless a witch or wizard has "pure" blood, he or she is not worth one iota of his time. I, being of Muggle parentage, make a partner that he would be more likely to kill in a grotesque method involving blunt swords than someone he would end up sleeping with, as I'm sure all of his relationships end (he he he). But, as I've wasted enough brain cells thinking of His Horror, it will do to move on to another subject.
While I'm on the topic of romance, I would like to state that I am, in no way, shape, or form, romantically interested in Viktor Krum. He is a very nice person, intellectually stimulating, even, but I cannot bring myself to be smitten with a guy who can't pronounce my name. It just isn't destined to be (sorry, Lavender).
Now, a few of you out there may think that, because I have not shown interest in any of the boys I've mentioned, I might possibly be a lesbian. I have not taken a romantic interest in Ginny Weasley, Lavender Brown, or any other girl I know and vice versa. I'm not a lesbian, so any of you thinking otherwise, change your opinion, thank you very much. I happen to find someone male I know of very attractive (coughOliverWoodcoughcough), but for now, we'll leave it be. I do not want to jeopardize my learning right now by going head over heels for some bloke.
My intellect has become somewhat of a legend around the Gryffindor common room, and it happens to be very annoying at some times. It's hard to have all these stupid, or not so stupid, thoughts flying around my head and badgering me to be inquisitive (one of my more annoying qualities, or so I've heard). I do try to keep myself under control when a particularly interesting subject rolls around, but, what can I say, I like to share my knowledge. Is that such a crime? Sometimes, I wish I could walk down a street without knowing its entire history and then sharing that history with the nearest person. It's not the world's biggest turn on. Not that I'm worried. I'm sure one day I'll be quite fetching (hey, let me live in my deluded world, will you?). But honestly, I didn't ask to have a natural ability to learn almost anything very quickly, so please don't come knocking every time you need homework help (especially if your name is Harry or Ron).
I think that pretty much covers what I wanted to accomplish here, and as such, this is where I'll leave all my lovely listeners. if you have any more questions, get them to me, and, if need be, there will be a second addition of my narrative. Much love to you all until we meet again.
