And Baby Makes Three - Happy Christmas

He couldn't believe it was still dark when he woke up. It seemed like he had been in bed forever, although he and Ginny had stayed up late rushing around trying to finish up any last minute preparations for her family tomorrow.

Draco couldn't believe just how excited he was for Christmas. He hadn't been this excited since he was a very little boy. Molly had told him that it would be different when he had a little one of his own and how right she was. He thought of his son sleeping soundly in his crib in the nursery across the hall. It was all he could do not to go in there and wake him.

Only Ginny would kill him if he woke Liam so early. He just couldn't believe that she was still asleep as he figured she'd be the one all excited over their first Christmas together as a real family. Yet there she was in the same position she was in when they had fallen into an exhausted sleep after a couple hours of private celebration.

He tried to fall back to sleep after cuddling up behind his wife, only the sleep would not come. Hecate jumped up on the bed some time after he finally started to doze to walk around looking for a warm place to curl up. She immediately took the spot he vacated when he turned over searching vainly for a position that would allow him to catch a couple more hours of shut eye.

When the grandfather clock in the hallway chimed the five o'clock hour, Draco couldn't fight it any longer. He got up, drawing on his warm dark gray flannel robe, to head downstairs to do something, anything really, to keep from waking Ginny. He went across the hall to check on Liam, but couldn't resist picking up his sleeping son.

He walked around the house admiring Ginny's handy work whispering quietly to the sleeping baby in his arms about how perfect everything was. She'd really outdone herself with decorations. It was their first Christmas in Agecroft Hall, the ancestral Black estate he inherited when his mother passed away, and she wanted to make it special. They were slowly, but surely making the house their home as they became more and more settled there.

The tree in the Game Room definitely had to be his favorite. It was a tall tree hung with multicolored faerie lights and decorated with ornaments from all the different Quidditch teams, but what he loved best were the action figures she'd charmed to fly in and around the tree chasing snitches and passing quaffles back and forth. It was a tree the likes of which he could have only dreamed of as a little boy.

"You're up awful early," Ginny said softly as she wrapped her arms around her husband from behind.

"I couldn't sleep." He reached for her with a free arm, drawing her around him so he could kiss her. He loved this - his perfect little family. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think he'd ever be this happy.

She stood on her tiptoes to give him a proper kiss mindful of Liam. "Are you that excited?"

Draco nodded enthusiastically. "I haven't looked forward to Christmas since I was little, but now it's different."

"How so?"

"For starters I have you and Liam. Your Mum was right when she said that having a child changes how you see Christmas. I want him to only know happy ones."

"I think we can arrange that." She gently rubbed the baby's cheek.

"I even look forward to your family showing up later."

Ginny pulled back from her husband, giving him an incredulous look. "Even Ron?"

"Not even Ron can dampen my Christmas spirit."

"You're so adorable!"

"Am not," he replied huffily.

"I have an idea," she grinned cheekily.

"Oh?"

"We've got a little while before Liam will be wanting breakfast and my family isn't due for hours yet. I think I could help you relax enough to take a nap so you won't be so exhausted later."

"And just how do you plan to do that?"

"I have my ways."

"You do, do you?"

"Yes," she purred. "I do."

Draco watched as Ginny put their still sleeping son back down in his bed. He grumbled like he might wake, but she managed to soothe him into a peaceful slumber by rubbing his back.

"Now, let's see what of your's I can rub to put you to sleep," she grinned mischievously as she pulled him by the hand into their bedroom.
