Chapter 7
Hermione took in a deep breath. "Look, Harry, this is really awkward. I had just assumed you were a virgin, I mean how long have you not been and didn't tell me?"
Harry sighed and said, "Since fifth year."
Hermione looked down at her hands. "And...and who were they?"
Harry looked at her sharply. "I'm not telling you that, Hermione, it won't do any good!"
"I want to know!"
Harry shook his head violently. "No, Hermione, because then you'll wanna know how many times, and where, and every detail, and you'll be weird around these girls and I won't have it!"
Hermione looked at him accusingly. "I know Cho has to be one of them, you guys were together for forever!"
Harry didn't answer immediately and Hermione knew she was right. "So who else? Ginny? Padma? Lavender? Come on, Harry, let's hear it!"
Harry gave her a hard stare. "I'm not saying this again, Hermione, I refuse to tell you who it was! There is nothing so terrible about having experience; it's basically only going to benefit you. I'm not gonna be some kind of clumsy fool with you, Hermione."
When he put it that way, it didn't sound half bad, and Hermione could feel her anger starting to ebb away. Harry leaned over, kissing her, rubbing her leg. He said softly, "I know all the right places and the right things to do, how can that be bad?"
Hermione pushed him away. "Don't even try that right now, Harry. Geez you have some nerve."
Hermione picked up a rock and threw it angrily into the lake. She grabbed another one and Harry watched her doing this for several minutes. Finally she stopped throwing rocks and said, "Well, I guess you have a point, nothing can change the past, and well, I know you care about me."
Harry smiled and leaned in to give her a kiss. Soon he was pushing her back towards the ground and she broke the kiss. "Nice try."
Harry smiled at her and then suddenly scooped her up in his arms and started moving closer to the lake. Hermione tried to wiggle out of his grasp, shrieking, "Harry James Potter, don't you dare!"
With those words he tossed her into the air and she landed with a loud splash. She came up and swam to the edge and climbed out of the lake. Harry watched her suspiciously and suddenly she tackled him and started dragging him towards the lake. She pulled Harry in and he grabbed Hermione, dunking her underwater. She came back to the surface and grabbed Harry's shirt, pulling him towards her. Hermione lightly wrapped her legs around Harry and he gave her a sexy smile. She ran her fingers through his hair to spike it up and then gave him a deep, tonguey kiss. Harry slid his hands down to settle on Hermione's waist, pulling her closer to him.
After a few minutes, Hermione pulled back and said, "I think we should head back inside and dry off."
Harry groaned and said, "Fine, fine."
Hermione climbed out of the lake for the second time and started heading back to the castle. Once they got back to the common room, Harry went and got a couple towels. Hermione wrapped one around herself over her clothes and wrapped the other around Harry. Harry went and sat in a chair by the fire and Hermione snuggled up in his lap.
Ron entered the common room a few minutes later and looked at them with raised eyebrows. He sat down in the chair next to them and Harry and Ron discussed Quidditch while Hermione worked on some homework. Finally, around midnight, they headed upstairs to bed.
As Harry and Ron changed into their pajamas Ron said, "So, things going well between you and Hermione?"
Harry looked at him. "Uh, yeah, I guess so."
Ron paused for a moment. "Have you and Hermione...you know."
Harry looked at him and then nodded. Ron looked surprised but then said, "I figured as much from the way you two were acting tonight. How do you always seduce these girls?!"
Harry laughed. "It was Hermione's first time, she got pretty pissed when she found out it wasn't mine."
Ron raised his eyebrows. "You didn't tell her about your sordid past did you?"
Harry rolled his eyes. "Yeah right! She got pissed enough just knowing I had been with other people, I'm not about to spill details to her."
Ron nodded. "Yeah I do not think that would wise."
Harry grinned at Ron and said, "I didn't even ask you if you and Lily have."
Ron started blushing and Harry laughed. "You dog!"
Ron punched Harry playfully. "Yeah right, you are calling me a dog when she was my first time!"
Harry laughed and climbed into his bed and Ron climbed into his. "Good night, Harry."
"'Night, Ron."
