The smell of bacon and eggs wafted through the house when Ginny woke up. Her stomach instantly grumbled, longing for breakfast. She opened her eyes and heard the other in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. She sat up on the couch, stretching out like a cat. Just then, Hermione walked in, brushing her hair.

'Morning,' said Hermione happily. 'Finally woken up, Sleeping Beauty?'

'Appears so,' Ginny grumbled. She wasn't much of a morning person. But mainly, after last night, after seeing Harry and Hermione, she didn't want to be merry little sunshine towards her. But she didn't want Hermione to find out that she knew her secret.

'Someone's a grump. Where were you last night, anyway?' said Hermione, eyeing her suspiciously. 'You weren't out with a boy, were you?'

'No!' Ginny said at once. Indeed, she was out with a boy, but the way Hermione said it...it made it sound like that she was out-out with Draco, not just...out. The thought of going out with Draco...ergh. He was far too arrogant and bigheaded for her liking. Then again, she didn't really have to best choice in guys. After all, she was and still is in love with Harry James Potter. Ginny resented the thought, but unfortunately for her, her feelings for him were still strong. Nothing she saw had evaded or dissolved her feelings for him, she had made Ginny slightly angry. It's not like she wanted to love Harry, but she did. She had been thinking about it before she fell asleep, and she decided that her, loving Harry, was more of a curse than a blessing. Not that it mattered anymore. Harry wouldn't look twice at Ginny, and she felt foolish that she had the night before. She didn't want to admit it, but if Harry called it off with Hermione, Ginny would still probably want to be with him regardless. Love sucked.

'Alright, alright, calm down,' said Hermione gently. 'I was just poking fun at you.'

Yeah, real fun, thought Ginny sarcastically, especially if you make it out that I was with Draco Malfoy.

Ginny wondered what he was doing right then.

Why the hell would I wonder that? Ginny thought. To hell with what he's doing!

As soon as Ginny thought that, she suddenly felt guilty. He wasn't that bad of a person. Sure, he certainly did have his off moments, but didn't everyone?

'C'mon, breakfast is ready,' said Hermione, grabbing Ginny's hand. She had no choice but to follow her, which she didn't mind because she was really hungry.

She went into the kitchen and saw the others there, putting food onto their plates, laughing and playfully shoving each other. Ginny smiled. As much as they irritated her, she did love them, really. She saw Harry, and she felt a knot in her stomach. What on earth would she say to him? Perhaps it would be best to tell him that the California trip was off...but then he'd want to know why. Damn Harry for being so lovable! She must really work on not loving the boy. She had more pressing issues.

Sabotaging Gryffindor. She still couldn't believe that she actually agreed to help Draco win the House and Quidditch Cup. With his new brooms for the team, he didn't need her help, which made Ginny think that maybe she didn't have to do anything. She was pretty sure that Draco would want her to do something anyway, just to piss her off.

'Morning, Ginny!' said George, clapping a hand on her back. 'We see the snoring Ginny hath woken from her snoreful slumber.'

Ginny frowned. She did not snore.

'Honestly, you were so loud you scared Seamus's cat away,' added Fred.

'I don't snore,' said Ginny sourly.

'You do,' said Fred, in a matter-of-a-fact tone, 'you kept Georgia, Freda and Leila up, and that's a fact.' Ginny knew that he was talking about George, Lee and himself. They often used those names to tick others off.

Lee Jordan, the twins' friend, nodded. Ginny shook her head, shaking both the thought of her snoring and her I-just-woke-up feeling.

'Morning,' said Harry nervously but smiling, who was standing next to Ron. Ginny didn't smile back. How dare he stand next to Ron, whom he had betrayed? How dare he? Ginny felt sick. She wanted to scream and scream at both Harry and Hermione, but she knew she couldn't. She had realised that it wasn't up to her to tell Ron the truth. It had to be either Harry or Hermione. She didn't like that fact, but she had to live with it. She only hoped that Ron would understand why she never told him when he found out the truth. If he ever finds out, that is.

'Want some juice?' Dean asked her. Ginny nodded. He poured her some and handed it to her.

'Thanks.' Ginny sat down at the breakfast table with the others, while the rest were in the kitchen. Ginny pretended to be interested in what Lavender and Parvati were saying, but she was really watching Ron, Harry and Hermione.

Ron went up to Hermione and kissed her cheek. She smiled at him faintly. She looked so cold and lifeless, and the look really didn't suit Hermione at all. Ron then hugged Hermione from behind. Hermione looked slightly angry. She slapped and pulled his arms off her.

'Not now, Ron,' she said coldly. Ron looked hurt and put out.

'Is everything ok?' he said, looking at her with confusion.

'I'm fine,' she said irritably. Ron didn't believe her, and Hermione caught his look of disbelief. 'Really,' she added.

'If you say so,' he said quietly. He turned to flip the bacon. Hermione took this chance to steal a look at Harry, who, from the corner, had been watching everything with a slightly dark and jealous look, and Ginny had never known Harry to be jealous and nor dark. It scared her. It was not the Harry she knew and loved.

The tension in the room was unbearable. Ginny was sure that only Harry, Ron, Hermione and herself noticed it, but she honestly thought that it was so major that the others must have felt it. Ron was casting looks at Hermione. Hermione was casting looks at Ron, and when Ron wasn't looking at her, she was looking at Harry. He was just staring at her. Ginny was staring at all three of them, but for a moment, her eyes met with Harry's. She looked away, embarrassed that he had caught her staring at him.

Why did it have to be so difficult? She wished she never went to find Harry. Then she would never have to know what was going on. Did Hermione even love Ron? She couldn't possibly love him if she was sleeping with his best friend. Ginny hoped that Hermione didn't love Harry, because she knew, as Ron had told her, that Ron loved Hermione. Did Harry love Hermione? Ginny hoped and prayed that he didn't, but she loved him, and if Ron found out that his best friend was in love with his girlfriend, it would destroy him. But when Ginny's eyes had met with Harry's, as her heart sank, she knew it; Harry was in love with Hermione.

That was it. There was nothing Ginny or Ron could do about it. But would Ron accept it? Would she herself even accept it?

Ginny shovelled her breakfast down, quietening the dull roar in her stomach.

'We're going back in ten,' said George. He looked at his watch. Ginny, the twins, Harry, Hermione and Ron were going back to Grimmauld Place before the start of school. Well, the twins obviously wouldn't be going to school. They also wanted to make sure that they all had enough of their products to last them the whole year.

Ginny averted her eyes from Ron, Hermione and Harry. It was easier that way. She didn't want to be a part of it. She knew, deep down, that it was a love triangle, not a love square. Harry didn't care for her. But why had he invited her to California?

Perhaps, thought Ginny, he was just planning to use me to get over Hermione. But I know Harry would never do that. On second thought, I don't even know what he'd do any more. Sleeping with his best friend's girlfriend? It was completely unlike Harry. But if Harry did love Hermione, as I think he is, then maybe it isn't unlike someone to do that. After all, he is only human.

'Time's up,' said Fred, jumping up from his seat.

'Alright,' said Seamus, who began to stand up to see them all out.

George dipped his hand down in a pansy-like way. 'Oh, darling,' he said to Seamus in a very posh woman's Cockney accent. 'I'd love to stay for brunch, but I must go back and have a game of croquet.'

'Get out,' said Seamus playfully, punching him on the arm. They said their goodbyes to the others and they all walked out of the room. Ginny kept her distance from Ron, Hermione and Harry. She didn't want to be near them.

Let them work it out, said Ginny bitterly.

'Ginny, dear, are you all right?' came the distant voice of Molly Weasley. Ginny snapped back from her daydream stance. Ginny and her mother, along with Tonks, had been doing the dishes, when Ginny had started staring blankly out of the kitchen window.

'I'm fine,' said Ginny. Molly frowned.

'You look ill,' she said, and put her hand to her daughter's forehead. 'You have a temperature.'

'No I don't,' said Ginny fussily.

'Have you had any water today?' asked Molly, looking concerned for Ginny.

'Yes,' Ginny lied.

'You haven't,' said Molly, narrowing her eyes. 'Go get yourself a glass of water and come back here to dry the dishes.'

Ginny groaned.

'Mother knows best,' recited Tonks. Ginny glared at her.

'Fine then; take her side,' said Ginny, smiling. 'I knew you would anyway.'

'Your mother is right, though. You look oddly pale,' said Tonks. Ginny didn't think that anything was wrong with her, so she thought that Tonks was commenting on Ginny's "oddly pale" complexion.

'Well, seeing as I'm sick,' said Ginny quickly, 'shouldn't I not do housework?' She smiled cheekily. Tonks threw a dishcloth at her. Ginny threw it back.

Molly hesitated at first, but she then sighed. 'Fine,' she said. Ginny's face brightened. She was getting out of doing chores. 'But you'd better get started on your holiday homework,' she added, 'and pack as well. We won't have time in the morning.'

Ginny groaned again, but she left the kitchen. She had started her holiday homework, but she was no way near finished. Snape had set her a whole lot of homework as usual, and McGonagoll was no different. She slumped her up the stairs, ignoring Mrs Black's shouts. Ginny noticed that this summer, they weren't about Sirius, her late son, who had died at the end of Ginny's fourth year. During the summer afterwards, Mrs Black was constantly screaming about how her son had deserved all her got and that he should rot in Hell. This, obviously, had upset everyone and had made every cry at least more than once, but none more so than Harry.

He had been very quite and distant that summer, and Dumbledore had kept a close watch on him, fearing that because Harry was so emotional, Voldemort could attempt to seduce Harry over to the Dark Side. And Voldemort had done that, and he had almost succeeded. Hermione had pulled him back. She was the one who had saved him, physically and emotionally. Looking back on that important event, Ginny realised that this was probably when the affair started. Or perhaps it had been already going on.

She went into the room that she shared with Hermione, and found Ron, Hermione and Harry in there with the twins, playing wizard's chess. Hermione, Ron and Harry were on the floor, laying on their stomachs and holding themselves up by their elbows, heads in hands.

'Hey,' said Ron, looking up. 'Did you get out of housework?' he said, as Ginny flopped onto her bed. She leaned up on her elbows.

'Yeah,' she said, 'Mum and Tonks thought I looked sick, so they let me off.'

Hermione studied her, and said, 'Yeah, you do look a bit off colour.'

'That's what they said as well,' Ginny said with a grimace.

'Probably just the heat,' suggested Harry.

Ginny shrugged. 'Maybe.'

'Or you're stressed,' added Ron.

Most probably, thought Ginny.

'Me getting off from chores doesn't mean that I can relax. I haven't started my homework yet,' she said gloomily.

'That's why I always get mine over and done with as soon as the holidays start!' said Ron cheerfully.

Hermione whacked him on the arm. 'No you don't, you give it to me to do!'

Ron pretended to look hurt and placed a hand on his heart. 'I can't believe you would say something like that, Hermione. When have I ever copied or made you do my homework?'

The look on Hermione's face was priceless. Fred and George had to turn away to hide their laughter and Harry buried his head in his arms. His back jumped up and down from his silent laughter. What made Ginny crack was the fact that Ron had managed to maintain a straight face. He was always good like that.

'Ginny, hurry up!' called her mother as steam billowed from the Hogwarts Express.

'I'm coming!' she called out, running and pushed her trolley through the bustled crowd. The nerves in her stomach tightened as people began to close the compartment doors. She saw her mum and dad walk alongside the train further down, no doubt to farewell her cousin, who was just starting Hogwarts. She nearly slammed her trolley straight into the train before someone caught it, but the quick stop made her stomach hit the handle, winding her. She coughed and spluttered as she got her breath back. Then she looked up and saw who caught her trolley, and she grinned.

'Hi,' said Ginny, as Draco Malfoy began to pin his Head Boy badge to his Slytherin robes.

'Didn't anyone teach you how to steer a trolley? Or couldn't your parents even afford to teach you to do that?' he sneered, and with that, sauntered off. Ginny stood there for a moment, completely confused and hurt. She, however, didn't have time to ponder, as she quickly opened the train door, shoved her trunk into the train and jumped in, shutting the door behind her. She dragged her trunk to an empty compartment and sat down. Why the heck had Draco acted so...Draco-like back then? Ginny wondered if there was a career in confusing people. Draco would be a millionaire.

Ginny was upset. She was upset because - because Draco Malfoy had rejected her. She honestly thought that he was a genuinely nice person. Well, not really, but she thought that he wasn't like that at all. How wrong she was. She would've defended him from others if she had to. She would've. But, from his open display of disgust for her, he wouldn't. She couldn't believe that she had been so easily fooled. Again. She trusted people too easily.

After a while, her friends in her year joined her and began to talk about the things that they always talked about...and Ginny Weasley, quite frankly, was bored. Bored, bored, bored. Suddenly, the compartment door slid open with an air of arrogance.

Hang on...doors don't open with arrogance! Ginny thought.

'Weasley!' barked a voice. She looked up. It was Draco. 'A word. Now.' Ginny ignored the looks on her friends' faces and got up. What did he want from her? Ginny thought that he had decided to hate her now. Maybe he's there to taunt her or something.

'I'll be a minute,' she said to her friends, and closed the door.

'What do you want?' she said coolly, folding her arms impatiently.

'A word,' he repeated.

'Well?'

'Um...I'm not really one for apologising and all...but you know I'm sorry, don't you?' he said. Ginny raised an eyebrow.

'You're sorry?' she laughed in a grimacing way. 'You're sorry? You shouldn't be, Draco. I'm the one that should be sorry.'

She gave him a cold look, and went to open the door.

'Ginny, wait -' he began. He grabbed her arm, and Ginny pulled away.

'Not for you,' she said coldly. 'Now go away.' She opened the door and closed it behind her.

'What did Draco Malfoy, of all people, want with you?' asked Izzy, her friend.

'Nothing, just prefect stuff,' she replied stiffly, and sat down. Izzy raised an eyebrow.

'What prefect stuff?' asked Izzy.

Ginny looked up. Why did she always have to ask so many questions?

'Anniversary celebrations in later this September,' Ginny lied. Well, it wasn't that much of a lie, as there was to be a celebration this year, marking a millennium since Hogwarts first opened. Izzy believed her, so that was all that mattered.

Ginny settled herself down at the Gryffindor table with her friends as the first years walked nervously to the Sorting Hat. Ginny remembered how nervous she had been. She also remembered feeling upset that Harry wasn't there to see her get sorted into Gryffindor, as he was too busy flying a car with Ron. She had known that Harry didn't like her the way she liked him, but she had been convinced that she could change her mind. Then, along came the Diary and that changed everything. Tom Riddle became her best friend that year. He knew everything about her, and he was even giving her advice about Harry. Oh yes, he had been very interested in Harry Potter, but of course, Ginny never really thought anything of it until it turned out that Tom Riddle, her best friend and confidante, was none other than Lord Voldemort. At first, she couldn't understand why Tom Riddle would want to hurt her. Ginny, at that time, would've never dreamed of hurting him.

She was terrified that Harry would hate her after that. Who wouldn't, if someone found out that they had spent a year with the one who murdered his parents? But Ginny was lucky, because he never showed any hate to her. If he did, he didn't show it. He didn't show anything for her. Perhaps he just pitied her. That's all it ever was.

Soon, the Sorting was over. Her cousin, Alex, had been placed in Gryffindor, like all other Weasleys. He was very happy indeed that he was Gryffindor and not Slytherin. Her mum and dad had told to watch him especially, since the younger siblings of Zabini and Parkinson liked to pick on him. Looking across the table, she noticed that Draco seemed to have a younger relative with him, too. The boy who sat next to him was just like a mini Draco, with his pale, pointed face and blond hair, except the boy was shorter and skinnier than Draco. Seeing as Draco was such a git, he'd probably make his relative tease poor Alex. That sounded like something Draco would do.

The Great Feast started, and everyone started heaping food onto his or her plate. The first years' eyes were bulging out of their sockets as they saw the amount of food that lay before them. Ginny, feeling rather hot helped herself to cool salads and the drinks, not feeling very hungry. She was a little bit tired and light-headed, but she doubted that the teachers would let her go off to bed early went the announcements hadn't even begun. So she stuck it out till the end, despite the fact that soon she would need toothpicks to hold up her heavy eyelids.

Dumbledore stood up and everyone fell silent.

'Welcome, first years, to Hogwarts!' Dumbledore began, his voice booming through the Hall. 'Also, I welcome those who have returned for another year here. As you all know, four founded Hogwarts, four great witches and wizards: Godric Gryffindor,' he eyed Harry, 'Rowena Ravenclaw, Helga Hufflepuff, and last but not least, Salazar Slytherin.' The entire student body held their breath, waiting for Dumbledore to continue his announcement.

'Hogwarts started some thousand years ago. In fact, this year marks the thousand years. It was this very day, that Hogwarts's first ever batch of first years walked through the front doors.' He motioned with his hand to the doors.

'When we first began, there were no Houses. There was no Sorting Hat. However, due to some...events, the Sorting Hat was made.'

'What events!' a sixth year Ravenclaw boy yelled out. The older students sniggered. It was a myth that two people were caught kissing, and so the parents called for some change so it wouldn't happen as much. However, Dumbledore went on.

'So now, when first years arrive, they are sorted into the four Houses. Now as this year is the millennium year since Hogwarts was founded, the teachers and myself saw it fitting that there must be some sort of celebration.' The students buzzed, talking about what kind of celebration.

'As our Prefects and Heads know, the first celebrations will take place at the end of this month. The celebrations will entail a day off from schoolwork and instead, a festival that will take place all day and will truly kick off at night when some former students will be providing a brilliant fireworks display.'

Everyone clapped and cheered. Ron, Ginny and Alex beamed. It was Fred and George who would be doing the fireworks.

'Other than that announcement, Mr Filch would kindly like to remind you that magic is strictly forbidden in the corridors.' Ginny snorted. Kindly was an overstatement.

'I would also like to welcome Nymphadora Tonks, who will be teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts this year.'

Tonks stood up, her pink hair vibrant. Everyone clapped hard, especially Ginny, Ron, Hermione, Harry and Alex. Tonks sat down and managed to spill her goblet. The Slytherins howled with laughter, and to annoy them (and Snape), she morphed herself into Snape. The Slytherins stopped laughing.

'Well, I don't know about you all,' continued Dumbledore, 'but I'm full. Prefects, please lead your houses back to their dormitories.'

'History of Magic first,' said Izzy, reading off from her timetable. 'What about you?'

Ginny wasn't paying attention. She had her hand to her head, drinking cool drink. She still felt a bit off colour from the night before. She didn't know what was wrong with her, but she felt incredibly light-headed and her legs felt like jelly. She was burning up with a fever as well, which was why she was feeling her head and drinking cool water.

'What's wrong?'

'Nothing,' Ginny lied. Izzy eyed her.

'Ginny, how long have we been best friends for?'

'Forever,' replied Ginny, taking a bite of dry toast. She didn't feel like eating, as she currently felt like utter crap.

'Right,' said Izzy, 'so I know when you're down in the dumps. Now tell me what's wrong?'

'I told you, nothing,' insisted Ginny.

'Fine then,' said Izzy, spooning sugar on her cereal, 'you keep your secrets.'

Ginny smiled as Izzy continued to pack on the sugar.

'Your teeth are going to fall out one day,' commented Ginny, watching her friend. Izzy shrugged it off. Clearly, she didn't care.

'So as I was asking,' said Izzy, 'what class have you got?'

Ginny got her timetable from her bag. 'Advanced Potions.'

'I've got that after History,' said Izzy. The bell sounded for everyone to make his or her way to class. Ginny threw her bag over her shoulder, said goodbye and walked out of the Great Hall to go to Advanced Potions, the first class of the school year. In Ginny's opinion, it wasn't the best way to start the school year with Advanced Potions with Snape. With each step she took, her legs felt even more like jelly and she had a strange sensation that she was floating. She needed to sit down, but she knew that she would have to wait until she got to class. Perhaps she could ask Snape if she could go to the Hospital Wing.

Pfft, like he'd let me, thought Ginny.

Getting exhaustingly tired, Ginny leaned against a wall and closed her eyes, ignoring the weird looks she was getting from people walking in the same direction. She was going to faint, she just knew it. She didn't really want to faint in front of everyone, though. That would be rather embarrassing. She slinked to the floor, waiting for everyone to pass. The colour started to fade in Ginny's eyes, as everything was turning to shades of grey. Oh dear. She could almost hear her heartbeat in her ears.

Baddumbaddumbaddumbaddumbadumbaddumbaddumbaddumbaddum...

Ginny stood and tried to walk. She didn't get very far. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and her knees buckled. She fell back. She didn't hit the floor. She was already unconscious by the time two strong arms caught her.

Ginny came to and was confused. She wasn't in class. She was meant to be in class! But she wasn't in class. She was in...the Hospital Wing? What's with that? She had to go to class!

She sat up in the hospital bed.

'Lay back down, Miss Weasley,' said a voice. It was Madame Pomfrey, who was walking towards her with a tray of food and water. She set it down on the bedside table.

'What happened?' Ginny asked groggily.

'You fainted,' said Madame Pomfrey. 'You're lucky that Mr Malfoy was walking by and managed to catch you before your head hit the ground.'

Before Ginny could be even more confused, and right on cue, Draco walked in. When he saw that she was awake, he grinned.

'Had a nice sleep?' he asked casually.

'What are you doing here?' Ginny asked quickly. She didn't mean to sound cold at all, but unfortunately that's how it came out. She turned to Madame Pomfrey. 'What's the time?'

'Six o'clock, dear,' she replied, folding the sheets on the bed next to her. 'You were out of it the whole day. Mr Malfoy hasn't left your side since he brought you in here.'

Ginny nodded, taking in all the information. She didn't even remember fainting. The last thing she remembered was walking out of the Great Hall and feeling rather sick. She waited until Madame Pomfrey went into her office before turning to Draco.

'You've been here all day?' she said, raising her eyebrows. He nodded.

'It's not something I'm proud of, though,' he said. Ginny laughed. He sat down on a chair next to her.

'Look, I'm really sorry about yesterday,' he said uneasily.

'I know you are,' said Ginny. 'But that still doesn't change the fact that you said it.'

Draco looked a little frustrated, but he looked like he was trying to control his anger. 'Well, what am I meant to do then?'

'I don't know, don't get angry with me,' said Ginny.

'Well why don't you just accept my apology then?' he snarled.

'Why should I if you're going to take that tone with me?' she bit back. They both feel into a stubborn spell of silence. Finally, Ginny spoke.

'Thanks,' she said.

'For what?'

'Bringing me here and staying with me.'

Draco sighed vehemently. 'Yeah, it was the least I could do after what I said to you yesterday.'

Ginny rolled her eyes. 'Alright, alright!' she said, throwing her arms up in defeat. 'I forgive you!' She laughed a little. 'Have the others been in to see me?'

Draco thought for a moment. 'Yeah, Weasel, Weasel junior and that annoying friend of yours that laughs like a hyena. Of course though, I had to clear out when they came or they'd see me, and I don't think that Weasel would like that too much.'

'She doesn't,' said Ginny, thinking of Izzy, though Draco was right, but she wasn't going to say that. 'You were smart to hide from Ron. He would've gone crazy.'

Ginny felt a little bit hurt that Harry and Hermione hadn't been to see her, her supposed friends, whilst Draco Malfoy stayed at her bedside all day. Some friends they were.

Well, thought Ginny, I've already seen that Harry is a pretty shocking friend, so why would I think it'd be different in this situation?

'Hey, just wondering...do you have a relative in first year?' Ginny asked. Draco nodded.

'My cousin,' he said. 'I hear him and Weasel junior are best friend.' He grinned, but Ginny frowned.

'That little boy is mine to him, you know,' said Ginny. 'You should try to control him.'

'Nah, that'd take all the fun out of it. He does everything I say,' said Draco. 'Anyway, I don't want them to be friends. They're like me and Weasel. It's great, really.'

'Do you like people hating you or something?'

'Can't complain,' he said casually. 'Do you like being a redhead or do you get annoyed at ranga jokes?'

Ginny self-consciously grabbed a bit of her hair. 'It's a part of me,' she said, blushing slightly.

'Exactly. And having people hate me is just a part of me,' he said. He yawned and stretched. 'By the way, have you ever given thought of our little deal we made?'

'Of course I have,' said Ginny bitterly.

'Excellent,' said Draco, not noticed her bitterness, 'so the first thing for you to do is to not do your homework.'

Ginny's eyes widened. 'What!' she said shrilly. 'I can't; I'm taking NEWTs! I can't afford to do that!'

'Fine, fine,' he drawled, 'but can you try and get some points docked?'

Ginny groaned and stared out in front of her in exaggerated annoyance. Draco took this as a yes. At that moment, Madame Pomfrey came out.

'Mr Malfoy, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave now,' she said. 'She needs more rest.'

Draco nodded and stood up.

'How long do I have to stay in here for?' Ginny asked.

'I'm keeping you in for overnight observation,' she said, changing the water in the flower vases of all the bedside tables.

Draco turned to Ginny. 'See you around, Weas.' He gave a wave and walked out. Ginny was beaming after him.

'You two make a cute couple,' Madame Pomfrey said, looking at Ginny. Ginny turned, startled.

'Oh, no! No, no, no, we aren't a couple!' Ginny said, her eyes wide.

'Oh, sorry, I just thought you were,' Madame Pomfrey said. Ginny could tell that she didn't believe her. Damn it.
