Author's Note:
Well, this was meant to be a Valentines Day fic, but obviously it became something else! Anyways, enjoy this meaningless drabble, and look out for my VD fic, which should be coming soon!

It was cold outside, and though the last of the snow had melted a week ago, the rain showed no mercy as it continued to unleash its wrath upon Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was because of this that the students of Hogwarts were currently burrowing themselves within the warm confines of the stone castle on the wet, stormy Saturday. Surprisingly enough, there was little homework to be done, and many witches and wizards were spending their time reading comfortably in the library, or lounging about in the common rooms with fellow housemates, amusing one another in a bored air.

In the Gryffindor tower, where the Gryffindor common room resided, there plenty of witches and wizards alike milling about. Some reading books, others counting.. things.. on the ceiling. Others were involved in lengthy conversations, while others still were being shoved off the couch from hogging couches in the midst of naps.

Fred and George Weasley, accompanied by Lee Jordan, were occupying one corner of the common room, wrapped in idle conversation. They all were slouched in their seats, ignoring the pile of homework that lay calling up in the dorm, and took their leisurely watching the students, or rather the female students, that lounged about the room.

"Oi, this has got to be the dullest Saturday yet," George said, rocking back in his chair.

"You're telling me," Lee agreed with a sigh, propping his elbow up on a nearby table, head resting softly upon his fist.

"If it wasn't raining we could be out playing quidditch," Fred moaned, staring at his nose, going cross-eyed in the process.

"If it wasn't raining, we wouldn't be here in the first place," Lee pointed out, rolling his eyes. "Besides, there's never anything to do if it's raining."

"Yeah.. Everyone's inside, and there's no decent way to do any sneaking," Fred added glumly.

"Not even safe to go grab a bite from the kitchens," George said, leaning forward just as he was about to tumble backwards.

"We really need to get a life, you know that?" Lee quirked, looking between his two companions.

"Oh, shut it," George grumbled.

---

Meanwhile, Alicia Spinnet, Angelina Johnson, and Katie Bell, all fellow seventh years and friends of the unruly boys, sat on the opposite side of the common room, which was just beginning to clear up of students. They had finished their homework, and were idly chatting away. Angelina was going on about Lee, while Katie could hardly contain herself about the 'beloved George'. Alicia, however, was growing bored of the boy talk, and had a burning hate for Fred Weasley whom, in her eyes, was the biggest player to set foot on Hogwarts grounds.

"...his freckles are just adorable!" Katie was squealing, gazing hungrily in the boys' direction.

"Katie, that's the fourteenth time you've said that in the past twenty minutes," Alicia announced in a bored air.

"Oh. Sorry," Katie replied with a sheepish grin.

"You've said that every time, and you've yet to shut up," Alicia moaned.

"Oh, quit bickering," Angelina said. "I think the boys are up to something; they're rather quiet."

"Well, it's not like they could pull a decent prank, though I wouldn't be Surprised, in this crowd," Alicia said pointedly. "And they're probably just bored like the rest of us."

"Last time you said that we ended up with multi-colored hair and black teeth for three days," Angelina said darkly. "Let's not make the same mistake twice, alright?"

---

"I've got it!" George exclaimed, his face lighting up. "No.. wait. Nevermind..."

"Brilliant idea, brother dear. Simply smashing," Fred said sarcastically, a grin on his face.

"At least we're getting a bit of humor," Lee added with a shrug.

"I know," Fred said suddenly, after a lengthy pause. He glanced over to the girls' direction. "Lee, I dare you to go ask Angelina to the Yule Ball."

"Now?" Lee asked, looking horrified.

"Yes, now."

"Me?"

"No, the other Lee."

"Oh, good then."

"You prat! Go ask her!"

"Angelina?"

"Yes, Ange. Who else?"

"Well, you could've-"

"Just do it; we all know you want to."

Lee sighed, standing up and heading over to the girls. He took a nervous swallow, closing his eyes briefly. The next thing he knew, he was hovering in front of the girls, all three looking pointedly at him, eyebrows raised.

"Yes?" Angelina asked, wondering what in the world he was doing.

"Uhm....," Lee began, turning red.

"How interesting," Katie said, rolling her eyes, before returning her gaze to George.

"Er... Well... Ange.. I was um..wondering if.. um.."

"Oh, just spit it out already!" Angelina snapped.

"Willyougototheballwithme?"

"...Excuse me?"

"Will you.. er... come to the ball.. with..um... me...?" Angelina stared blankly at the boy before her. Then, a large smile appeared on her face.

"I'd love to," she said, titlting her head to the side. Lee grinned, turning and head happily back for his red head companions.

"Oooh!" Katie squealed, turning to her friends. "That was adorable!"

"The question, or Lee?" Angelina asked dreamily, looking after her new date before gazing back at the girls.

"Oh please," Alicia grumbled. "What is it with you people? It's just a stupid ball!"

"Yeah, well, George already asked me," Katie said with a happy sigh. "...Oops."

"He did?" Angelina exclaimed, eyes going wide. "Why didn't you tell us?"

"Because you weren't supposed to know! Even Fred doesn't."

"You're sure it was George, then?"

"Yeah; Fred's ticklish..."

---

"See? That wasn't so bad," George said as Lee plopped himself back down in his seat, the same giddy grin still in place.

"Was to," Lee replied. "Do you know how hard it is to work up those kind of nerves?"

"Ah, well, you did it. S'what counts, right?" Fred said, cocking a brow.

"Yeah, well I don't see you lumbering off and asking anyone."

"That's because I'm not going. Ok, I am, but I'm going alone. Mum's making me, and.. well.. Yeah..."

"Even I've got a date," George said proudly.

"Oh?" Fred asked, cocking a suspicious brow. "Who?"

"Katie Bell," his twin answered proudly. "Asked her last week."

"Alright, then," Fred began innocently. "I've got a dare for you."

---

".....And so then he AH!" SMACK! Katie stood fuming over George, whom was now lying on the floor, looking somewhat dazed, seeing as he had just been kicked in the shin (twice), and then shoved down. Hard. "Don't you ever even think about touching my-"

"-But Snape isn't that stupid," Harry said as he and Ron appeared at the bottom of the stairs. Looking out at the scene before them, they laughed, before continuing on their way out of the common room.

"Yeah, I suppose so," Ron said as they headed out the portrait hole.

"-You hear me?!? I swear, you do that again, and I'll kick your-"

"-Assuming you put in the correct ingredients," Hermione finished, heading up the stairs to the girls' dorm with Ginny. They too disappeared from sight as they turned the bend.

"Yes ma'am," George said sarcastically, hopping to his feet with a salute, before limping back to his brother and friend.

"Honestly!" Katie said in a frustrated tone. "Just can't keep their hands to themselves, can they?"

"They're guys; they're perverted; what do you expect?" Alicia grumbled, flipping through the latest issue of Teen Witch.

"Good point."

---

"I can't believe you did that," Lee said between laughs, nearly falling out of his chair. Fred was doing the same, though he was more focused on trying to breath than talking.

"Y-Yeah....," he managed, before bursting into another round of laughs.

"It wasn't that funny," George grumbled, sitting in his chair once more. "And it hurt..."

"But you knew that," he said, calming some.

"Too true, too true."

"Hey, the truth hurts," Lee said with a shrug.

"Speaking of which, Gin got a letter from Mum today. I think we might have to go home for the holidays," George said. Fred and Lee stared blankly at him.

"And what," began Fred, "Does that have to do with the truth?"

"I have no idea," George said. "But I just remembered; thought you'd like to know."

"Whatever. Anyway, what should we do now? There's nothing much, really..."

"But you haven't gone yet."

"What?"

"That's right, he hasn't, has he?" Lee said, an evil smirk on his face.

"It was your idea; you should have to do something," George added.

"But what?"

"I've got it....," George said, eyes full of mischief as he glanced in the girls' direction.

---

"I think Alicia's next," Angelina said promptly after looking back from her friends to the boys several times.

"What do you mean I'm next?" Alicia asked, peering over he magazine at Angelina.

"She means whatever those boys are concocting, it has to do with you," Katie answered, smiling sweetly.

"After all, Lee asked me to the ball, George... well..," Angelina said, faltering slightly. "Anyway, the only one that's left is you, dear. You and Fred, that is."

"I hate Fred," Alicia stated. "And Fred hates me. Nothing, I repeat nothing, is going to happen."

"Alicia?" Came an innocent voice from behind her. She turned, not expecting anything out of the ordinary.

"Wha-?" Was all she got out of her mouth, before someone else had their lips against hers. That someone else was Fred. And he was kissing her. She froze for several moments and then, coming to her senses, shoved the boy away, a furious look on her face. "What was that about?!?"

Fred spat on the floor, wiping off his mouth with his robe sleeve. "Call it a dare, shall we?" he growled, marching off in a huff towards Lee and George. The latter, along with Angelina and Alicia, couldn't help but laugh on as the remaining Gryffindors glared at their friends.

"That... That.. That was too good!" Lee howled as he fell off his chair with a thud.

"You're telling me!" George cried, clutching his side and gripping the back of his chair.

"It wasn't that funny," Fred grumbled, slouching down into a pout in his chair.

"Sorry Fred," Angelina said, staggering over to their corner with Katie, both still submerged in giggles. "But it was."

"No kidding," Katie agreed, glancing back at Alicia, who had buried herself back in her magazine. She and Fred both were rather crimson in the face. At last Alicia stormed up the stairs, leaving Fred to suffer as the center of all humiliation.

---

Three days later, Fred was released from the Hospital Wing after being treated for nine bludger hits during quidditch practice.

"Look at it this way, mate," George said with a grin as the two headed back to the common room. "Katie tells me Alicia isn't even close to fulfilling her revenge."

Author notes: I must say my favorite part was with Katie, George, and the random walk-in charries. Snape mention for you, Lou, even if it wasn't all that great. ^^;
