- Author's Note:
- Hello! Here is chapter three of my little story. Oh, I
Lily Evans sat far away from James in Muggle Studies. Still, if he sat on the very edge of his seat and turned his desk a little to the left, he could see her face, unless Peter leaned forward to write. He sighed and blocked out everything the teacher was saying so he could pass notes in peace.
James: Hey people. Prongs here.
Sirius: Yo. I am sooooooooooo bored. How many O's is that? Let's count. One, two, three, four, five, six....
Remus: Wow, Padfoot. So... Muggle Studies... I'm thrilled about this class.
James: You are?!
Remus: Note the sarcasm in my previous sentence.
Sirius: Who would want to learn about Muggles? They don't even look properly. You don't have to learn to look.
Peter: Yeah. My dad took Muggle Studies. He didn't like it.
James: Then why are you taking it? UGH! He's talking about eleckticity or whatever it's called.
Sirius: No kidding. Where's Bella?
Remus: You like her, don't you? Hah! Sirius and Bella, hmm....
Sirius: I do not! Just wondering where she is! Where is she?!
Sirius looked frantically around the room for Lily's friend, Bella Ferguson.
James: God, don't have a heart attack, Padfoot! She's over there by the rubbish bin.
Peter: Yeah, looks like she's passing notes with Lily....
Bella had started the notes. Lily was very serious about school, but Bella could usually persuade her to do things that were a bit more risky than she was used to.
Bella: Hey Lils, what are you writing in your notebook?
Lily: Hi, Bella. Nothing.
Bella: Let me see!
Lily: NO!
Bella: Pretty please? I'm your best friend!
Lily ignored the note and flicked it back onto Bella's desk. Bella smirked, and while the Professor was looking away, she snatched the notebook from Lily's grasp.
"Hey!" Lily hissed angrily. The Professor turned around again, and Lily had no choice but to pass more notes to Bella and prod her in the back repeatedly with her quill until she got her notebook back.
Lily: Give it back!
Bella: Oh, Merlin.
Lily: GIVE IT BACK!
Bella: Fine, fine, fine. Temper, you've got, red.
Bella sneakily tossed the notebook back onto Lily's desk.
Lily: You better not tell anyone! No one!
Bella: Okay, wait a second. Explain this to me. You say you have "only platonic" feelings for James Potter. You're "just barely friends." Then explain why you have his name scribbled all over the pages of that notebook, eh?
Lily: Tell anyone, and you die.
Meanwhile, the Marauders were having a very interesting conversation through notes.
James: I do not have a thing for Moaning Myrtle, dammit! New subject!
Sirius: Sure, sure, James. Looks like Lily's fired up. Bella's laughing. She looks so good when she laughs....
Remus: I was right! You do like her!
Sirius: Stuff it, moon boy!
Remus: Sorry! You don't have to get so mad about it.
Sirius: Nah, it's okay. I guess I do have a thing for Bella.
Peter: He admits it! Hahaha!
James: Right. Looks like the bell's about to ring. Anyone up for a snowball fight?
Sirius: You know it, Prongsie! But there isn't any snow, it's October.
James: Oh, I can arrange it.
Sirius: What time? I've got some Transfiguration due tomorrow, but it can wait till the weekend.
James: How about six?
Remus: Sounds good to me!
Peter: Maybe I'll just watch. You know I get colds easily.
Remus: That's okay, bud, we don't want you in the Hospital Wing again.
Sirius: Here comes the Bell!
Peter: More like Bell-a!
Right on cue, the bell rang, and Sirius was glaring at Peter when it did. For once, Sirius didn't dash straight to lunch, but he skipped up to the Professor and thanked him for a great lesson. He happily joined his friends as they left the classroom.
"What was that for, Padfoot?" Remus asked him, looking rather amused.
"I left a Barking Quill on his desk while I was up there. Should go off sometime during his next lesson."
"Nice," James said approvingly. To his dismay, Lily had already left the classroom. He shrugged off the sinking feeling in his stomach and continued to lunch.
Author notes: Thanks for all the reviews from the previous chapters,
they are really helpful and encouraging! Keep it up!
Coming next chapter...
"Why must she torment our souls?!"
"You looked in my notebook yesterday, so why wont you let me look in
yours?"
