- Enjoy! It's the first attempt at R/Hr I've done in a while, sorry if it's a little lame. Oh well.
Ran my whole life in the ground
Ron's spirit had seemed to be ripped out of him and flaunted itself before him daily. For every day he would find something about Hermione in everything he saw, and she was always happier than he--for he had no joy. No laughter. Everything that was once Ronald Weasley was gone.
And I can't, I can't get up when you're gone
Ron rarely left his house. He never spoke to anyone other than his family and Harry. Well, Harry was family. He had wed his sister almost three years ago, like Hermione and he should have. Damn her.
And something's breaking up (breaking up)
Day by day, Ron lost faith in Hermione coming back. The burning fringes of his heart--where love lay in ashes and hate grew in the light of the flames, replaced his faith.
I feel like giving up (like giving up)
Finally, Harry convinced his brother-in-law that there was some other Hermione out there for him. That he should give up on his love for her. That he knew that he loathed her more than loved her. He only felt the need to be loved. He only desired her because she was something he had once had, and lost.
I won't walk out until you know
But Ron wouldn't give up until Hermione knew what she had done to him. So, Harry found Hermione and tricked her into meeting Ron. When their eyes met, Hermione quickly shifted hers away; Ron noticed a glint on her left hand. The ring wasn't that of the one she had owned the previous year.
Here I go, scream my lungs out and try to get to you
Ron begged and pleaded for Hermione's explanation. She refused, quite simply to say the least, to explain.
You are my only one
Ron told her what she had done to him. His heart was empty and hollow, thanks to that damn Granger. He hated her, but he needed her. He loved her.
I let go, there's just no one who gets me like you do
Hermione swiftly apologized for his tears and still refused to explain. Ron decided to let her know, once more, how much he loved her. That there would always be a place in his heart for that girl he had known since the first train ride to Hogwarts.
You are my only my only one
Hermione stiffened as Ron pleaded with her one last time to return to him.
Here I go so dishonestly
Finally giving up on the silent Hermione, Ron left. He walked out of the life he had been living in for the last year. He shed himself from his past hopes and dreams.
Leave a note for you my only one
He wrote her one last letter, telling her into great detail how he had come to realize how he wasn't in love with her. That he never had been. That he had moved on. It took him a great length of time to convince himself of this, but he did.
And I know you can see right through me
Hermione's face fell as she read her letter. Ron was saying he was over her. Damn him. He couldn't be over her when she had just realized what a fool of herself she had made.
So let me go and you will find someone
As her thoughts ran through her, Hermione glanced at her ring on her left hand and smirked gruesomely. She was to be wed to someone loved. Truly loved and needed.
Here I go, scream my lungs out and try to get to you
If she was truly in love with him, then why did she think that Ron would be the only man she would ever find salvation in?
You are my only one
Hermione married Neville Longbottom. The fellow had loved her for as long as Ron had, and he possibly had more to offer. She found herself wishing that Ron was the one beside her every morning and was a little disappointed when her first child didn't have red hair, blue eyes and freckles.
I let go, there's just no one, no one like you
Ron went from one woman to the next, until his parents had gotten restless and begged him to give them grandchildren to spoil, like all his other siblings had.
You are my only, my only one
Marrying Luna Lovegood was quite possibly the biggest mistake in Ron Weasley's life. But he was glad he did it. He wouldn't let Hermione know that every night he still prayed that she would miss him and want him back. And he knew that there was no way that they would ever be again.
My only one
Ron found that first loves last forever. He had found that his love for her was true and everlasting, but she obviously hadn't shared the same feelings. Until one day Ron received a short letter in the mail from an unknown owl.
My only one
Ron, it read, I am writing you this letter to let you know that I am happily surviving my life. I only wanted to let you know that I let you go a long time ago for the simple fact that I was scared that you would hurt me. And you have.
My only one
You moved on right when I found my fault in my reasoning. Blame the overly logical self that I am, but I wanted to let you know that you will always be the only one.
You are my only, my only one
Author notes: I'll love you forever and a day if you leave me feedback.
