Ch 2- Owl Post
Draco spent all night composing a letter to Laura, double-checking everything so she couldn't figure out who it was. Finally after twelve pieces of parchment and four hours later Draco had come up with the perfect letter from Laura's secret admirer (aka himself). Feeling the weariness of no rest beginning to wash over him, Draco attached the letter with a single white rose and sending it out with "Majesty", his personal eagle owl. He stripped his shirt off and down to his boxers, feeling to tired to change anymore; Draco climbed under his silk emerald green sheets for at least four hours of sleep.
Exactly four and a half hours later, Draco woke up by the sound of tapping on his small window and the sunlight flickering past the moving shadow. Draco rose out of bed and let Majesty enter his window with an envelope addressed to: My S. A., Hogwarts.
Draco smiled, not thinking that Laura would answer back so soon. He tore open the letter and sat on the edge of his desk.
My "Secret Admirer",
I am very flattered that you have taken an interest me. I hope you will reveal yourself soon, but until the time we meet I will be waiting to hear from you once more. I am impressed by your cunningness and mysteriousness; I hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely,
L. Dorsky
Draco smiled and held the letter to his heart. Mysteriousness? Wow, he never really looked at it that way. Whistling as he showered and got dressed he couldn't wait to see her this morning at breakfast. Draco knew he'd be the one she'd run to with the good news. He was pretty sure that Jessica would already know by now, so he looked forward to having Laura run to him.
As soon as he entered the hallway before the Great Hall he heard the familiar voice of an excited sounding Laura. Draco looked over to find her practically running at him, holding a letter in her hand. He held back a smirk and waited for her to reach him before asking her what she was so happy about. Her hair bounced around behind her as she got closer to Draco, he also noticed that she had the rose pinned up with it.
"Draco I need to talk to you now!" Laura giggled and pulled him towards the library. He allowed himself to be pulled by the wrist into the protection of the high shelves in the library.
"What happened that you're so happy?" Draco asked calmly, leaning on one of the bookcases.
"I received this letter early this morning and wow, I have an admirer! I mean, look at the penmanship and the wording! This guy is defiantly a perfect gentleman!" she beamed with a big smile that'd been plastered on her face since she been in his presence. Laura held the letter against her heart and asked Draco whether or not he'd reveal himself in time for the ball. Draco just told her that he'd be an idiot not to. Things seemed to be going ok considering its been only about eight hours since he'd written the letter to Laura. But now it was going to take patience, secrecy and of course mysteriousness. Draco allowed himself to be lost in his thoughts as he joked around with Laura as to who might have a crush on her. Did she really not know? Draco smirked for the millionth time that morning and hugged her goodbye as he went off to his house table for breakfast.
Dishing out some eggs and bacon, Draco decided to write to her every few nights until the ball in two weeks. Of course in the final letter he'd ask her to the ball where he'd reveal himself. She was so excited about that letter; Draco couldn't believe it. He thought that she'd toss the matter to the side and not worry about it. Boy was he wrong! He took one last bite of his meal and headed down the lengthy corridors to Care of Magical Creatures.
