Characters by Writing Style:-

Professor Dumbledore (Albus)

Professor McGonagall (Minerva)

Professor Snape (Severus)

Minerva, would you please pass me the peas?

Why did you ask me that in a note?

I have seen many of the children pass notes in the library and the Great Hall. It looks like fun.

Yes I've heard it goes on in Professor Binns' class quite often as well.

That's hardly surprising. Not yours?

No one would dare.

Have you heard of this passing of notes that goes on Severus?

Yes but it would never take place in my class.

Are you sure of that?

Yes, the passing of notes is childish and time consuming. It would be punished accordingly.

Oh lighten up Severus.

You said that no one would dare do it in your class and you tell ME to lighten up?

Yes but I would never punish a child by tricking them into drinking a blinding potion and telling them that you can't find the antidote.

Longbottom, that little It never happened.

Of course not.

Come now Minerva. We have had this discussion with Severus in the past. He knows what he did was wrong.

I was only saying.

I wonder what the children discuss in these notes of theirs anyway.

Nothing of great importance I should imagine. I once found an abandoned note in the middle of the corridor and it seems that Mr Weasley and Mr Potter had been discussing a romantic interest in Miss Granger.

Really? I always knew that Harry and Hermione would get together someday.

No Minerva. I think it's more likely Ronald and Hermione.

Nonsense Albus.

Not that it's important of course, but it was in fact Mr Weasley with the crush on Miss Granger. Apparently Mr Potter was trying to persuade him to tell her because she also fancies him.

I thought that was more likely. I've seen the way those two look at each other whenever they are together.

I suppose now you mention it I can see that. I have also noticed Ginny Weasley keeping her eye on young Harry.

Yes that is true.

Why are we discussing the love lives of our students?

I'm sorry Severus, would you rather we discussed yours?

So Miss Weasley and Mr Potter huh? Interesting.

You're just scared of Sybil.

I most certainly am not.

What's this about?

Our resident seer appears to have a thing for Severus.

Really?

No she does not and how can you call the woman a seer anyway? She's completely off her rocker. She keeps telling students that they are going to die in horrible ways and everyone says I'm the cruel one.

Come now Severus. She's not that bad.

Yes but it's not you that she keeps stalking.

Stalking?

Yes. Two days ago she came into my dungeon claiming that she had got lost.

Maybe she had.

She's been here longer than I have! How could she have been lost? After all these years, you would have to be completely crazy to get lost.

I myself have taken long walks around the castle and sometimes found strange rooms that I never realised were there.

Quite.

What do you mean by that Severus?

Nothing Minerva.

Good.

What are you two talking about?

Nothing Albus.

I'm just glad that members of my house are not so bothered by romantic feelings. Especially my Quidditch team. I do not need them to get distracted.

I agree Severus. My team members are obviously slightly distracted and are still better. Obviously yours needs all the concentration they can muster.

I do not appreciate your tone Minerva.

So my words have tones now do they? Interesting.

You know what I mean.

Come now. There is no point in arguing. Besides, I have spotted some Slytherins taking an interest in the opposite sex.

I can't imagine the opposite sex taking much interest in them.

What does that mean Minerva?

Nothing Albus. Your fish is getting cold.

Thank you for reminding me.

You're welcome.

My house members are not all gay.

Is that what I implied?

Yes.

Actually it wasn't but if you want to discuss the sexual orientation of Slytherins then I have no objection. I meant that the other houses aren't likely to take an interest in them.

You're changing it now. Anyway most of my Slytherins prefer to keep it amongst themselves I should imagine.

I've seen Draco Malfoy staring at the Gryffindor table on many occasions. I'm not quite sure who he's looking at though. Perhaps Harry Potter?

I do not wish to discuss this with you anymore Minerva.

Ok. So when are you and Sybil planning to get married? I'm sure she told me once that she foresaw a spring wedding for you two.

Stop it.

You're lucky that classes start in a few minutes. We better go. Unfortunately I've got your bunch this afternoon.

Lucky. Such intelligent minds.

If you say so. See you later.
