Chapter 8;Lost Family, and New Family

When we got back from the States, we were told that Percy had transformed over to the Dark Side. I hate to admit it, but I'd always suspected that he would. His lust for denomination and power had always been unhealthy. Hermione was shocked. We all met at the Burrow. It was Mum, Dad, me, Hermione, Bill, Fleur (his wife), Charlie, Lil (his four-year-old daughter; his fiancee had died in childbirth), and George.. George explained to us that Fred was very nervous. Fred'd been working on a project with Dumbledore for the Good Side, and he'd let Percy in on it. Hermione immediately panicked.

"Oh, gosh. He shouldn't be alone." George shook his head gravely.

"Fred said that he would die sooner or later, and he preferred it to be while he was alone, so as not to endanger others." I'd never seen George so serious. He lowered his voice to a whisper. "We do have a plan, Dumbledore and I. Hermione, you know what it is, and the risks we must take. Keep it quiet." Hermione's eyes widened, and she nodded her head slowly.

"Yes....... I know now," she whispered. "Does he have a....?'

"Yes, but very slim. Hermione, I thought you were equipped with precautions?"

"I didn't realize it would be Fred!"

Fred? From the gist of it, Fred was doing something for our Side, possibly it would win the war! I didn't have a clue of this "plan" Hermione and George mentioned, but since Dumbledore was in on it, I assumed Fred was safe..

"Hi, Mum!" Mum turned.

"Ron! Aw, my baby!" She swept me up in a hug. "Ronniekins, I need to talk to you in private when you get the chance."

"Mum? Now's a good time as any." She looked reluctant.

"Okay, but we talk upstairs in my bedroom." I could've sworn I heard her mumble, "nothing breakable in there" and suddenly got a bad feeling.

"Ron," she said in her soothing voice she uses when she's about to set off my temper, "Harry's dead." I looked at her. It'd been seven months. I knew this. I gave her an expectant look. "Ron, you know Ginny doesn't have the patience to be faithful to a ghost." I breathed a sigh of relief. Ginny had a new boyfriend? It was a little sooner than I'd expected, but I'd gotten over the overprotectivness. "Ron, you'd better sit down. Ginny is engaged."

"Engaged?! She barely had time to grieve? What self-respecting man would move in on a girl mourning the loss of her fiencee?"

"Ron? There's more." Suddenly, I didn't feel like sitting down. I stood up. "She's marrying Draco Malfoy."

"Draco?? Harry's worst enemy?" I began to pace around the room, feeling my ears get hot with fury.

"Ron? There's more." Suddenly, I felt my face go white.

"Ginny's three months pregnant."

Chapter 9: A Family of My Own

Fred died the previous day, but Dumbledore put a charm on the house so Voldemort could not escape. The Dementors arrived and gave the Kiss. Therefore, we won the War! In that times of should-be-rejoicing, we Weasleys mourned our loss.

Turns out, Ginny had Draco's child, Luc (named in honer of Draco's father, who'd killed Harry, needless to say, I was mad), on their five month wedding anniversary. Hermione and I stood in the nursery window, pointing at this child. My nephew, yet the spawn of my worst enemy. The grandchild of my best friend's killer. Hermione cooed and wept, not realizing the mixed feelings I was experiencing towards my new brother-and-law and my new nephew. Suddenly, Hermione turned to me.

"Ron, what do you feel about having a child?"

"I would love children, why?"

"I'm pregnant."

"Mione!" I cried, jumping up. I turned to Draco, who stood next to me. "'m going to be a daddy, too!" He looked at me, looking slightly taken aback. Maybe it was the goofy grin I inevitably wore. Perhaps he knew my reluctance to accept him. Suddenly, he broke out in a grin.

"Congratulations, man!" He gave me a swift pat on the back. He leaned over and kissed Hermione's cheek. (I checked to make sure that was all. Draco may have been accepted in my book as a brother-in-law, but I still doubted him around my wife, who was his ex-girlfriend) "How far along?"

"Oh, about five weeks."

Hermione gave birth to a daughter. We named her Alicia Anne Weasley. When Alicia was five, we had Tad Wes Weasley and Tyler Christopher Weasley, twins.

I must say, that raising children was an.... interesting experience. When Alicia came back from Hogwarts her fifth year, I barly recognized her. The way she acted, and cried at every word. Hermione assured me it was perfectly normal for teenage girls. I was amazed. Surely she wasn't like this at that age. Not in front of my very eyes! "That's the point," she told me. "I'd never want the boy I dreamt of to see me crying and blushing and acting all hormone-crazed." Hormone crazed? Boy she dreamt of? Suddenly I saw Alicia in a whole new light. And I did not like it at all. The next winter holidays, she came home, she brought a boyfriend. Josh Longbottom. About then all hell broke loose.

The twins were getting ready for their first year. They played tricks that turn even their Uncle George's and 'Uncle' Sirius' ears red. Like the time that their sister was wearing a white T-shirt on the first trip to Platform 9 and 3/4 and they turned her bra BRIGHT, neon red, so you could see it through her shirt. Right in the train station! I let Hermione punish them for that one, because truly I had no idea how embarrassing it'd been for poor Alicia, only me!

However much I may have complained about my kids, I wouldn't have traded them for anything in the world. Now, Alicia and Josh are married. Yes, Neville and I are in-laws! They have a child, Felicia Leah. Tad is a homosexual. Tyler is married to a witch from the states and lives in New York City with her. No kids for them, yet.
